But if one season ends at EP3 then... it'll be kind of awkward.

To have 2 or 4 episodes each season is reasonable. But I don't really like the idea of having 3 for one season, 2 for another, and then 2 or 3 for another one...

I didn't really like how the Answer Arcs and Question Arcs were split up in Higurashi. So I was hoping that they'd do a better job at splitting up the seasons with Umineko. I mean... if Higurashi was split up correctly, then Meakashi-hen and Tsumihoroboshi-hen would have been animated better AND probably had less cut out of them.

I think Higurashi's splitting is okay.

And I also like the idea Umineko's first season ends at EP3, that make the viewers easier to fall for the trick at the end

EP3 kind of leads into EP4... for reasons I can't say in this topic.

If a season ended with EP3, I guess it'd be an alright ending. But if a season ended with EP4, it'd be an awesome ending.

I wish they would use a full 24 episodes though. But I can see them using only half of it if they really intend to skip over certain parts that could feel "repetitive" (but then again these parts are still fundamental, in my opinion).

The animation and style of drawing was very bad in the anime to me.
I hope the horror and animation might turn out good in this anime.

@Kitsu Have you tried google translator?

Hey, we got a forum now.

Just wondering about this thread, since there doesn't appear to be any restrictions on the tile I gather this a full fledged spoiler thread, with the only restriction that spoilers should be properly spoiler tagged. Is that correct?

edit: NVM, refer to the regarding spoilers thread.

BTW, what is the policy for spoilers in the non-anime tagged threads? As in say, the voce actor appreciation thread, i don't suppose you can go and post things like

I know that is just an exaggeration, but I think it should be explicitly stated to avoid confusion.

Damn, it was inevitable to get it's own forum given the overwhelming enthusiasm but I didn't think it'd be this early!

ANN always lists 13 episodes for new shows because shows are going to at least run one cour which is 13 weeks.

No we don't. They're user submitted.

http://cal.syoboi.jp/tid/1670/time

Said user just got their information from here.

And I sure hope it'll be longer than 13 episodes. It's one of the few anime I've been looking forward to for a while, and that would only cover EP 1&2 at most (I guess maybe 3, but I don't want to think all they'd cut out by squeezing them together that much).

First off thanks for the information and that is pretty disappointing if it is 13 episodes... Anyway as for you Encyclopedia entries why are they always listed as 13 episodes initially when no information is available? For example FMA Brotherhood was listed at 13, so was Soul Eater, Cross Game etc when it was obvious they would be more than one cour. I'm just curious to see why it's like that since unlike Umineko they wouldn't have had a source.... most of the time the first info we have on ep count is DVD listings... Maybe better to reply to me in a PM since it's offtopic.

Hence why I said that is could be a starting point. ^^ Also, just to clear it up, I didn't read the source, I read it of someone's journal on Deviantart.
Anyway, I think it is safe to say that there will be more then 13 episodes. They'll be on a death wish if they make it that short.

This doesn't mean it will be 13 episodes. It just means the source has confirmed at least 13 episodes. Final counts of episodes are always written on entries as (example):

"Number of episodes: 26"

A lot of people seem to get confused with "Episode titles" and "Number of Episodes", so I'm just making this clear here. And always remember to check sources as this isn't absolute either. FYI, anybody is allowed to check sources by just using the "lookup sources" link at the bottom of entries.

That's not exactly true there's a lot of anime that are only 12 episodes long. And Piano was only 10.

Whoever puts "13 episodes" for any new anime announced in informational sites without any basis is doing a very poor job.
