It's funny, as a kid I liked Tom & Jerry a little bit, but as an adult I am addicted to Tom & Jerry and watch it almost everyday on Cartoon Network while I'm at work or at home. It's a nice blast from the past and as an adult I can laugh at the way they interact with eachother more than when I was a kid, I don't know why that is.
I challenge everyone to flick on Cartoon Network Friday Nights at 8pm for their "You Are Here!" lineup and it will make you into cartoon fans once again, it was a huge reason why I am back watching cartoons full time again, but I can't give it all the credit, CN, CW4Kids and 4KidsTV all helped me back into one of my favorite hobbies after a long absense......... |

X-Men: The Animated Series was a fantastic show and was definatly my favorite cartoon of the 90's, or was at least one of them. They just released the first two volumes on DVD after a long and frusterating wait due to legal issues. It's about time!!

I guess I'm just suffering from nostalgia, like so many people do with the passing decades. The kids of today will be the teenagers of tomorrow who will be complaining that the cartoons of tomorrow won't be as good as the cartoons from their childhood. It's almost like music, each generation thinks that the music they grew up with was the best, and the music of the younger generation is terrible garbage.

Actually, I think Total Drama Island is good. A decent spoof of reality TV shows, with a little more bite than the average american cartoon (or so you would think with the TV PG rating).
Of course, yes the problem is that we grow old, but still some cartoons have better crossover appeal than others. Some of the best ones of the 90s did, which is honestly why I can still watch em (I can't watch any thing made in the 80s or before and really enjoy it). |

I just find myself to be very open to any cartoon as long as I find it to be enjoyable. For instance, Toki and Solomon mentioned TDA and Flapjack, two shoes I am not a fan of, but I tried to like them and they failed to keep my attention. I just think people need to try out the cartoons of today before they discount them as not being good, I have a friend who does this and it makes me so mad because I know his taste and he would like some of them. I suppose there are people who tried and didn't like what they saw, but there are so many people out there who are ignoring today's stuff because they have it stuck in their heads that "Today's cartoons are not as good as the ones we had when I was a kid.", and thats not a good mentality to have.

In a way, you could say that it is us the viewers the ones that have changed and not just the shows that air nowdays.

totally classic dude, seriously. It's a CRIME that kids these days don't have bugs and the gang on basic cable, they never go out of style and even with the great competition of the 90s, still outclass most stuff people have made since.

I wasn't thinking of movies, My favorites would have to be land before time(all of them) lion king and of course, toy story and my favorite of all time(Which I've watched hundreds of times) would be bugs life
