Does anyone happen to have the kanji or whatever is used in the game for Battler's "It's useless, it's all useless" phrase? Can they post it here, since I want to use it on another forum?~

Hello. Because of the upcoming Umineko anime, I've decided to get and play the game. But for some reason, when I try to run onscripter-en.exe, it doesn't work and gives me an error message ("onscripter-en.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.").

The game itself runs fine, it's just that onscripter-en won't work. I've read the readme file over and over, and gone through most of the pages, but I still can't run the file. The folders seem to be in the right places too. What's the problem?

You mean the music or the game? The music you can, but as far as the game goes I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

Maybe the PSP, if you hack it. I know you could do this with Touhou, but then again they're two different Doujin games...

I've seen videos of Umineko working on the PSP, not sure how much of the game actually works on it. But it got past the starting screen and through some of the story.

I know iPod touches that have been able to play the Pokemon games if hacked too. But regular iPods probably won't work the same way.

you just need the onscripter version for PSP. that program basically uses the game files but works on its own, so anything that is made with NScripter can work. I don't know if an Ipod version exist though.

I've tried it. It is slow but it works. The only problem I've encountered so far is the chapter selection screen. For some reasons the game freezes there. However load and save work, so this problem can probably be avoided by creating a save files that make you start from chapter one of every game.

I've tried the tea parties and Ep4, but unless I play thoroughly I can't be 100% sure the game won't freeze in any part.

Now for the translation patch, that's a completely different issue. the PSP requires the executable program to be in the main directory, and the witch hunt patch the requires the game to start from a sub directory. Also the code made by sonozakifutagotachi includes some OS checks, and it doesn't recognize the PSP enviroment, causing the game to stop before starting.

The only thing I can tell you is how to do that on a PSP... ._.
But I guess If you look in the net you should find some guide for it. You will prabably find it one for tsukihime or other VN based on nscript, it doesn't matter they should be the same.

Still not fully satisfied with the translation, but it's a wiki, so please feel free to correct if if you can tell anything's off.
