Basically it's a magic series with fanservice. Ep 1 is a bit too serious, in contrast with ep 00 which was a comedy/moe episode. You have a girl that wants to be a magician, runs around trying to find a certain magic school, gets hunted by a guy who wants the staff he's carrying, then she gets saved by a girl that makes pans drop from the sky. Yumiko, the first girl, manages to defeat this guy's familiar by reciting a magic Code he used against her. The guy's too strong though, but another mage comes to save the day in the form of a hot woman in santa outfit

Not sure, I mean, Koyomi KNOWS Yumiko, and even comments on her being cute when she was small, with the same hair and all that, so Koyomi apparently knows the future Yumiko, but Yumiko does not. So it's not REALLY a different chronological order (if the subs are to be believed).

And oh no, not the "messed up order" trope again. The most worrying thing for me is seeing Koyomi not being worried at all by her situation. How much of an air head can you be to live life normally like that even after knowing you've gone back in time.

Episode 0 was definitely better. This show doesn't do a great job in creating suspense. It wasn't a horrible first episode, though. Like everyone else, I had no idea what was going on, so that might have been a reason.

That said, I raged when the familiar was whipping Yumiko.

Erm sorry, but how do you know she's been living normally? All we've seen is her looking for someone and getting into a fight with some guy.

And we've not seen enough to tell whether it is a messed up order.

That being said, is the opening not showing the future selfs of the characters? Ok I'm totally lost this time, they're doing a good job with keeping the mystery secret. It is going to be fun finding out what the heck is going on tehehe.

You are right, I don't know but she is still giving off the impression that she is more carefree than any normal person would. Well with the whole "meeting young Yumiko" and her going "kya kya, so cute, I know you, you don't know me yet but I know you! lets be friends!", I would even go as far as to say she is having quite a lot of fun.

And I am saying that it better NOT be a messed up order storyline. Things like that isn't all that appealing to me nowadays.

They work when its episodic since its like a hidden story you can only see if you try to see it, otherwise its just fail. Well, we'll find out next week won't we.

Well, certainly not what I expected after episode 00, but still quite entertaining, and I didn't find the time travel stuff all that confusing at all (other than the fact that Misa doesn't seem to have aged... but maybe she was older than she looked in ep. 00).

Still don't see why Yumiko didn't just grab another pair of pantsu while she was in her room, but the way she lost her original pair was pretty epic.

For all we know she's a 300 year old witch and uses magic to look 18; its well within her powers it would seem (and given the diary mentions her it would be weird if she wasn't). Concerning episode 00 we might get a jump to pre-00 or post-00 soon. Looking at the site, all the characters appear to be the age they were in 00 and given the opening its more then certain this is just a short arc.
