Do Defeats in action anime truly mean Friendship?

If your talking about anime then yes former foes go on to become allies/ friends . Slightly cliché but there are lot of dynamics which go into this turn around . Sometime the foe is really well liked by the fans and they want more of him . To put it simply the foe is too darn popular . So to satisfy the viewer and bring in ratings the former foe is brought back with some convoluted logic and explanation i.e. Lone Wolf

It really doesn't quite work that way in real life . Foes may become friends and act like friends but beneath the charade it quite different from both sides. Unless there was a misunderstanding which is another thing all together
