Wow, looks like an interesting episode. From preview I managed to see quite a few Shinigamis that will appear as well, which is a big plus.

Kubo stated in his interview that he liked the new filler, he says he almost wants to draw them into the manga, but that's going to be impossible now.

Just found some spoilers involving Zanpakutos that are involved in the next filler so you can see it if you want below. Not sure if it's 100% true though...

For what its worth, I found this to be mediocre rather than bad. We are a still a far sight away from the horror that was the arrancar filler arc, though admittedly the utter lack of action is a strike against this ep. The preview does breed a certain amount of hope, though I hope they full out commit to this arc and keep going until they have enough manga material to go with. If they half ass it like they did with the new captain arc, we will be here again in a year.

Seeing how the third movie is nearing release, I assume it's a mislead spirit that will brainwash the other swords to attack their owners or something of sorts, very bleach-like.
I was always under the impression that swords normally take up animal forms and Ichigo's was special, manifesting as a human.
