They aren't wwatching anime, but I think it's just because they're lazy to read subtitles. So if it was translated they will be wathcing some series for sure.

Pffff I can hardly get my parents to watch an animated movie, never mind anime, or manga. My parents are narrowed mind and ignorant in most of their opinions, so I hide my anime/manga fanism (in a draw to be precise)

God help me if I ever decide to buy a figure and display it on my desk.

My father watches Pokemon, actually. I don't unless I'm bored or half asleep, though.

They don't. But when I ask for a figurine or something, they buy it.

A day or so ago my mom said that she was interested in seeing an episode or two of GitS:SAC. I really hope she forgets - I can't see her watching anime like I do.

Exactly. My mother doesn't believe that anime has plot and character. I tried to explain to her that if she watched Evangelion she wouldn't understand half of it, but she didn't beleive me. Then I wrote a detailed plot summary of the series and she was confused as hell. She still thinks it's stupid.

Except for Studio Ghibli. She loes them, but that's it.

Hmm... well if you just do it like that then obviously she will think it is stupid, because it is so out of what she is used to that you cannot possiblly expect her to understand on the fiest try. Maybe if you had tried with things like nodame cantabile or Honey and Clover you would have had more luck.

Yeah really. My mom likes that stuff too. I think it's the only anime she's really seen.

Jumping from nice Disney licensed Howl's Moving Castle to scantily clad Major Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell isn't exactly the prettiest transition for conservative adults . Then again, I'm sure there could be much worse. Who knows though, maybe she'll end up liking it. Maybe.

My Mom doesnt really understand it.She watched an episode of Naruto with me and throughout the entire show it wasreally awkward. My Dad understands anime. He doesnt really watch it, but when he was younger he would watch Speed Racer. I actually got my younger sister into anime and manga, but it took awhile. She now likes anime like Naruto and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and reads the manga Rosario+Vampire and D. Gray-man. I was really suprised when she asked to watch some of my anime.

Not sure about my Dad but I heard from grandmama that he likes to watch tv as a child. Now, he throws a tantrum whenever I do anything, especially watching anime. My mom wasn't interested or didn't even notice it's existence. The people who truly interested me into watching anime was my cousin and big sis, althrough she quit a long ago. Oh well, their lost. Lol.

Nope, they never gave it a shot, not that I have brought it up or offered.
