Random aside, I can't be the only person who thinks it's hilarious for someone named "sento" to be arguing with someone named "Battler-kun"...

Anyway, the amount of gameplay in the VN from the main story took about as long as it did in the anime... things really go down the hole that quickly. The things I would've liked are the end scroll which was simply amazing, and just some onscreen text saying "Purgatorio" when they're there, but this is as well done as I could ever expect.

I have little idea what was going on at the end, but if everything was laid out five episodes in, there wouldn't be much of a show, would there?

Also, Battler's quite the crack shot, being able to hit the butterfly as he did.

If you think of what exactly happened in Part A, it's almost all action and everything just happens like within 15mins from start to finish. The only possible section the anime "theoritically" might've missed out is when Battler is interrogating Maria, but even then the climax is being done pretty well.
If you think about it, normally all of the good stuff of the climax happens pretty quickly. Therefore if it feel like the "fast pace" as in the previous episode when it's conversation dominated, I'd say that it's unlikely for this one to be skipping much. After all, how do you skip action scenes?

I've been avoiding this section of the forum mainly because I'm afraid of spoilers (it only takes one douchebag) and partly because of Mass Effect (main reason why I don't have time to post regularly anymore, man its such a bargain for 20 bukcs). But man, this episode was so goddamn awesome I just had to say it here.

I mean, one of my favourite singers is doing the OP (<3 Ar Tonelico songs), has crazy 'killer' loli (two now if you include the other witch), romances in which its implied the couples have known each other for a long time (no duh), and of course, the big 'rivalry' between Beatrice and Battler. Which oddly enough is wanting me to ship them together, in which Battler would succeed becoming the head; I mean, sparks were figuratively flying between the two the moment Beatrice showed herself to him lol. XD

Great stuff, Deen, great stuff. Looking forward to the next episode and/or arc.

*raises hand* Here's another person! As soon as I started reading that discussion, I began chuckling in my head... Ihihihi~

At this point I only find it unfortunate for anime only viewers, just have missed so much detail... however I was in that predicament just a few days ago. One thing has changed though, that being that I have some more faith that DEEN will be able to pull it all off..!

Another note... Am I the only one who thinks Bern has looked the best character-wise in the anime so far? As to say, they paid most attention to her drawings?

If any normal human was to witness such madness...and stay unsnapped

I don't think I could keep my sanity from fleeing witnessing such scene first hand, would have submitted to Beatrice right away.

Yes, she looks very elegant. It may also help that they didn't put oversized balloons on her.

One of the greatest things about that scene, is that normally people who believe in magic and witches are considered irrational and unable to discern fantasies from facts. But here's the total opposite, the people who believe in magic are the rational ones and Battler who claims everything can be explained with scientific thinking is a very illogic and close minded person who doesn't make sense whatever he says.

This is the aspect that makes Umineko so unique and this battle of fantasyVSrationality is going to be explored in any possible way.

From what I've seen in blog reviews it looks like a lot of people are just confused in general. Since Beatrice appeared they probably have to believe that she exists and she's doing the murders. Poor souls - if only they knew what awaits them~~
