From what I can tell thus far, playing with ATLAS+AGTH (which means I might be way off since it's barely above Babelfish translating in places)
Beato went Blue Screen of Death after Ep4. She just sits around, unresponsive, getting her hair brushed by Virgilia while they try to convince her to talk.
LD and Bern get sick of waiting, and call Battler out to bitch about him starting the game back up, with LD as the opposition. Long argument, he doesn't want to play against anyone but Beatrice, and if they start the game back up it will be without his participation.
Bern shows him images of Ange getting torn up and torments him til he gives in. Bern and LD are all LOL, but then he's says "If LD can replace Beato, Bern can sit in for me. Later. So they're going to play each other this round.
Cut back to Battler with coma Beato and Virgilia. Ronove shows up and says some moonspeak that killed the translator. Battler talks about not wanting to play with them Beatrice is his only oppononent...then seems to get the idea that he shouldn't let the other two eff up his and Beato's game if he wants her to come back.
This is as far as I've gotten so far. And some of this may be wrong, like I said the translation is lulzy in places.
I can continue to update as I go if people want.
So, Battler is going back to play. I *think* Virgilia told him that there is something he needs to find? Do? In this game to bring Beato back. He's like, alright, breaks over. He teleports back to the game room. LD and Bern have already played through the first twilight, and Bern seems to think she's set him up for a win. Battler doesn't look amused, and goes to take over.
Cue "Episode 5, End of the Golden Witch" text.
Cut to TIPS screen, with Jessica, Hideyoshi, George, Genji, Maria, and Rose redded out.
Everyone is sitting around. Natsuhi has apparently been accused/caught/is suspected. She is denying it, but her denial apparently rings hollow. Suddenly, cut to new girl, who says her often-seen-in-spoiler-shots "Natsuhi, you dun it."
Cue that awesome new OP movie.
After OP movie, cuts to Natsuhi going into Kinzo's study. The translator keeps talking about summer but I think it's just screwing up Natsuhi's name. Seems to be a flashback. She keeps saying "Honorable Father is..father is.." until Krauss shuts her up. Krauss, Genji, Nanjo, and Kumazawa are gathered around Kinzo's bed. He's dead. Natsuhi collapses crying.
Krauss and Nanjo talk about him being energetic until death, and then there is some stuff about the impact his death will have financially/polically/etc that I couldn't quite understand from my EPIC TRANSLATOR TOOL.
Krauss says something about contacting the relatives, I'm not sure. Genji says to leave it to him and Nanjo, and deal with Natsuhi. She gets up and starts talking about doing Kinzo proud and doing things right, arranging a fancy funeral. They seem worried about being accused of foul play since he didn't die in a hospital, and vultures after the family fortune.
They're about to get started dealing with things, when Klauss tells them to wait. They seem confused, and he gets mad and makes them all stop an pay attention.
He says they will hide his death. Natsuhi is pissed. They start goign back and forth, about money problems, Klauss getting ripped off or something, and mention of a "Sonozaki-san" mentioned as a partner or the guy who ripped him off or something, but I was clicking through quick because I didn't really care. More arguing, scene change, more money crap(everything is mortgaged?), "With more time I can clear my debts, but I need a eff-ton of money real quick to get things rolling", so lets find the gold that'll fix it, let's solve the epitaph, "KLAUSS QUIT BEING RETARDED" +runs off, into Genji oops. She gets the key to Kinzo's study from him.
She sits in the study crying and begging forgiveness from Kinzo. OH HAI, Kinzo. He's sitting on the desk. He's very kind and comforting and NAtsuhi is clearly nucking futs. He talks about knowing hardship, since he was a puppet of his relatives, and the war exhausted him, and he is full of regret. He got money from Beatrice and kicked ass. I think he said Natsuhi was a true successor because of her spirit or something. She asks about the gold being lent, he says Beatrice isn't likely to do things like that, or something. Butterflys appear, and bam Beatrice.
They banter about how he dominated her by being arrogant and courageous. They talk about overcoming adversity through will, and continuing even after death.
Natsuhi recovers her poise, and says she will restore honor. Kinzo entrusts Beatrice with ensuring that someone deserving, like Natsuhi, becomes the true successor, convincing her by saying it will be interesting. Natsuhi asks if Beatrice can help with gold again, and she says no because of the contract. Natsuhi decideds...something? She's all willpowerish.
Scene change, and I'll continue in a moment.
Everyone is gathered in Kinzo's room again. Natsuhi says they need to gather money, like Klauss said. She also says Kinzo isn't dead. He's too busy with research in his rooms, so they have to handle things for him. They interpret it as her saying to hide the death, but she may just be crazy. She asks them to agree.
They're hesitant. She says that he may have died, but if they all believe he is alive, magic will make him alive, until Klauss settles his debts. Nanjo is worried about an eventual autopsy revealing the real time of death. She says if he disappears it doesn't matter. Klauss catches on, saying that as long as he 'goes missing' after their debts are clear, its all good. They can leave him somewhere in the giant forest, and death can be declared later even without a body.
Natsuhi pressures Nanjo and Kumasawa, and the scene changes.
Cut to Beatrice in the study. Butterflies cover Kinzo, then leave...and he gets up. Natsuhi is there, and greets him. He seems a bit...put out, or something, but Beatrice chides him and he's like 'meh'. Natsuhi is all concerned about his body, but he says its fine.
Natsuhi tries to thank Beatrice, but she says thanks are unneeded, while smiling and waggling a finger (this delusion is moe, too bad the sprite doesn't do it ;o). She thanks her anyway, but receives a warning that the magic is ongoing, and can fail if not believed in or whatever. NAtsuhi says of course she will uphold the magic. Beatrice laughs, then I think she offers her service and is accepted by Natsuhi.
And then it cuts to October fifth, although I realize now I didn't notice which year. Guess we'll see in a moment whether it's the present or not? >_>
Rose garden is nice this year...and Kinzo is standing in it. He complements a particular flower, asking, guess who, Kanon if it was thanks to his hard work it looked so nice. Kanon thanks him. Natsuhi is there too, and thanks him too and asks him to keep it spiffy. He is thankful for their praise. Then Kinzo is like "damn family council today :<" He talks about his family sucking cuz they plan to feud over the money.
He asks Natsuhi how Klauss debt repayment is going. She says they seem to be on schedule. They seem put out that they couldn't finish before the meeting, though.
Oh hey, Beatrice again. She hops off the roof, where she was basking, and starts talking about "the relative that is anti-magic" and says it will evaporate in the event of an encounter. Kinzo is amused, Natsuhi is distressed. Beatrice says they should be on their way now, so Natsuhi asks Kinzo to return to his study.
Kinzo agrees, kinda grumbly I think, and Beatrice laughs, telling him to be docile and stay safely in his room studying and hidden under the futon, or something along those lines. HE laughs, and agrees to go, saying he wants tea, though, and tells Kanon to send Genji.
Before he leaves, he tells Natsuhi to kick ass at the meeting. She says she will do her duty as Klauss wife, to which he responds his son is miserable, looking concerned. They discuss Klauss talent, can't tell whether positively or negatively, and Natsuhi says she will support him. Kinzo gets fired up and tells her to do well.
Then, Natsuhi asks (I think Kanon) to take help him to the study, and get his tea on the way. Natsuhi and Beatrice stick around, discussing the danger of the anti-magic. Beatrice cautions her, and Natsuhi agrees to take care. Beatrice might say Natsuhi has talent as a which, I think. Natsuhi responds she is the wife of the Klauss, Mrs. actual head of family(lol epic translation). Beatrice laughs, and says she'll help protect her honor. Natsuhi thanks her for her magical help. Then they promise to drink delicious tea together some time. Beatrice leaves, then Natsuhi. Once everyone is gone....cue some meta stuff.
LD asks if there are any complaints about the game thus far. Bern has none. Then...uh..I have no idea what part of what is in red here. Help?
UPDATE: Just asking if Kinzo is already dead at this point. Taunting with the mystery of Kinzo being up and about.
LD is trolling, asking whether Kinzo is dead now, or if magic is real to revive him, or what. Doesn't actually seem like a strong trap, but Super-paper is kinda dumb, I guess. Anyways, she tosses out her challenge starts witch laughing.
Battler looks at her kinda angry, and tells her not to do a crappy imitation of Beato, because it is unpleasant. She trolls him more, mentioning (I think) possible dumb explanations, such as group delusion or "Six Island Syndrome", or shiny butterflies that only live on one island. The weird explanations continue. I'll quote so you can share in the bad translation glory
" such things as the act of medicine [purupurupikopuyo] of not yet known to show the group delusion that The Secret Adversary 'Mountain dog' of the mystery made. "
See what I endure for you people? Anyways...
Battler tells her to shut up and be quiet.
Red text: The grandfather-sama is already dead.
I *think* Battler said it.
He continues, saying the death was just concealed by Natsuhi lying and conspiracy, to which LD responds by asking if lying revives the dead. "So it wasn't Natsuhi's magic?" I think she says after that, de-gibberishing it. Battler says "This world is the world before it peeps at the cathode-ray tube. The world of [nekohako] before it opens."
He says that if its a lie, it doesn't matter what he is shown, as a dead man can be alive in a lie, if I'm reading this right.
Bern applauds him, saying Bravo, and says something about him and Beato. Battler gets mad and tells her to not bother him, and that she should shut up too.
LD calls his attention back to her, saying that his explanation is great if its his word versus Natsuhi, but where does Kanon fit in. Battler looks at her bored, and says of course he'll agree with what his employers say. LD looks put out, and Bern tells her that its too bad, but Battler won't get caught by low-level childish tricks anymore.
LD says its just an appetizer. Either Bern or LD start rambling out various premeal things, until Battler tells them to shut up. He mentions something about advancing through the blue text. LD agrees, and he states his theory in blue that his grandfather being alive is just a fantasy cooked up by everyone that they agreed to believe, and since they share the fantasy they can respond to it together. No one can contradict it and break their delusion, because he is 'alone in his study'.
He talks about how Kinzo hadn't been met straightforwardly in the games, but people still claimed they had met him. The people who said they met him were sharing an agreed-upon delusion, which made him real to them.
He concludes this as his opening response. LD and Bern respond, talking about medicines and science and stuff, and "Knox Article 4 story". Battler asks what that is. Bern says the use of a unknown medicine or super-science object is prohibited. IE no cheating with almost-magic pills/devices/viruses. Bern laughs at him, saying he should give up if that kind of thing was part of his answer.
Battler is thrown off. Bern taunts him further, talking about how he fought Beato from the front, but that wasn't right. He didn't fight fantasy vs mystery, he fought at an angle. Ie Anti fantasy, vs fantastic but exists. He seems a bit put out, and I think admits the flaw in his fighting. Bern continues, saying their job is to destroy witches, interpreting it as a formal mystery, not something right on the border of fantasy. She points out things like his closed room solutions, I think. Then she mentions Knox Article 3.
"The existence of a secret passage is prohibited."
Because they make the game too easy/onesided, if I'm reading this right. She says he lost every time he went to overboard with such things. Then she cracks up all crazy again.
Battler just kind of rolls with it. He asks about the source of the articles. LD says they are something like rules designed for fighting and breaking witch fantasy, made by a Archbishop Knox and someone else (accidently clicked past the name >_>). LD chides Bern for bringing such troublesome weapons in.
Battler asks some agitated questions, which I couldn't quite understand, about the whole deal. Bern comments that LD takes charge of the witch side, "fantasy". She who fights against it, is "mystery." But he keeps up the denail of fantasy while barely exchanging anti-fantasies. He's like a politician. Cue more witch laughing.
Battler tells them to shut up, again.
Will continue this in a moment.
Now, it comes to our attention that coma-Beato is sitting around. She's not looking good; her breathing is rough, and she's sweating like crazy. Battler says her name, all concerned.
Time out for speculation based on other spoilersI'm starting to think MAGEBATTLER vs Erika maybe-fake-spoiler could be real. If she dies because she was denied by Erika, maybe he plans to save her by crushing Erika/Mystery himself. If so, FUCK YES YOU ARE THE BEST SERIES EVER. If Beato dies permanently though, I'm done with the series. Ahem. Back to the summary.
Anyways, LD taunts him for being concerned about her, considering the whole being his evil opponent thing and all, and he doesn't say anything. She continues, saying the game driven by Bern is starting to break the witches fantasy, denying her existence, so of course she will be suffering. Bern ports in, explaining that her suffering is evidence that his denial of Kinzo's resurrection passed to her. Battler gets angry looking but doesn't respond. Instead, he wipes Beato's sweat off her forehead, thinking about how he promised to let her die...buuut...he denies that it is his purpose to harm the sleeping Beato. The two other witches just grin evilly at him.
Scene change.
We open on Rudolph, Eva, Hideyoshi, Rosa, and Kyrie. They are discussing/arguing, I think about seeing Kinzo. Kyrie says she doesn't care as long as he doesn't leave any strange wills or anything. Rosa shouts about...something? Genji arrives. The boat is ready. Gohda says goodbye, and that he looks forward to their next visit. Scene change.
Natsuhi is tired and sitting on a bench in the garden. She straightens up as Kumasawa returns. She asks if the ship left. Kanon is here too. They confirm the boat just left. She asks how the master is. Kanon says he was fine in his room. So, the death was not seen through. Natsuhi feels exhausted from the stress. She is suprised they were kept from insisting on descending on Kinzo with questions. Kumasawa tricked them somehow. They praise her acting ability. Apparently she was able to make them think Kinzo was in the room, by yelling or coughing or something. They had hid her absence with lies. Kuma comments on how it is Natsuhi that endured the real hardship. Natsuhi says something about a promise to Genji and...uh..[shaoto]? Apparently some sort of reward, it's kind of hard to make out what.
Kumasawa is herself, laughing, until Kanon chides her. Natsuhi doesn't seem to mind. They will return to business as usual now. Scene change.
Oh hey its Natsuhi in the garden again, big surprise. She's drinking tea with Beatrice. They chat about food or drink or both. Natsuhi is impressed with Beatrice' degree of culture, to which she says her 1000 years weren't wasted. Kinda hard to tell what is being talked about after that, going around the world? Talking about severe education and Honorable Mother and Father. Beatrice theorizes something about Klauss pitying Natsuhi? Natsuhi talks about various asian countries. Beatrice...says something about Klauss and Kinzo? Oh, something about Kinzo's obsession with the West, and its relation to countries of the east. Flashback inside a flashback time.
Scene looks like a market in some asian country, Klauss is asking if Natsuhi likes "it". She's eating some weird fruit, apparently. I think..he pulls it away when she tries to bite it? He laughs at her. He bites it, but doesn't swallow. She seems confused. I guess it's something you chew. Then he talks about soup and stuff, and Natsuhi gets more confused. He explains its like chewing gum. Then you spit it out. Translator said vomited, but I'm hoping to god its wrong
His mouth is stained red, even when he tries to wipe it. Natsuhi refuses to try the thing. Klauss says something about enjoying unique experiences while traveling, not worried about the stains. Uh...then some talk about an old man, not sure what its saying. Comment on how Klauss is acting like a child. Natsuhi is somewhere between jealousy and respect, and feels glad to have seen this side of him by visiting a foreign country. Then..I think he chases her around with the fruit or whatever? Maybe?
Klauss is acting childish-mad in the bus. A local is explaining the fruit. It's treated as a luxery item like cigarettes locally, and also has symbolism for married couples. Klauss is stonefaced, but seems to be blushing for a moment. Flashback over.
Beatrice seems amused. She makes one of her troll faces for a moment, but she's just playing around teasing Natsuhi with dirty or romantic or something songs, if I'm not mistaken. Natsuhi blushes. She eats a whole...cookie or whatever they're eating at once.
Not really a scene change, but a big change in tone, so I'll pause here for a second.
Natsuhi suddenly looks downcast. She says something along the lines of "but that was the story of a new married couple". Its not like that now; they're trapped on Rokkenjima like caged birds. Beatrice says she is the same, but not to worry about it, since you can still be happy. I think. MAybe. Her wording was weird. Natsuhi thanks her, anyways.
Beatrice praises how she conducted the servants and such during the family council, to keep up the illusion of Kinzo's life. They talk about it some, how it was like a complex magical formation... then there's a weird line, that might be worth understanding better, I think, maybe?
Beatrice then jokes about Kumasawa being an apprentice witch of faking sickness.
Meta-world frame appears.
Battler and Beato appear, watching. Battler looks sort of happy/relaxedish, and compares the mood/tea/etc to the one Renove creates with his treats. Beato mutters something. Battler tries to tease her into responding with the idea of tea. he tries to put a cup of tea in her hand, but she says No. Then there is this line.
Trans please, its a bit of a clusterf___ in the translation and I need mah BatBeato interactions :3
Anyways, Battler still tries to help her drink, helping her hold it and moving it to her mouth. She drinks just a bit. Then there is a line about trying to kill each other with red and blue every day, which to him is in the dim and distant past already. Then "Even the thing to make the cc intention to say nothing of killing one another commuted is difficult with [beato] today. "
All that is left is tea to drink.
He asks her if the tea is good. But she doesn't respond, although he doesn't expect her to. He gets frustrated, not mad, looking, and asks if its another north wind blah blah blah to make him depressed. She doesn't respond. He says something about the condition being all crazy because of 'that appearance'.
No response. >_< face Battler, then he asks her to laugh at "baka" for being caught by her soon. No reaction. He asks her to laugh like the her drinking tea and cackling with Natsuhi.
No response. He asks even for...some other laugh? Hu thing?
"But that child will never laugh like that again" Bern appears.
Battler says not to take deny her ability to laugh again in front of Beato. Bern taunts him somehow? Something related to him or her saying something in red? He refuses. There is a line about not being able to read the face(his face?) in front of Beato. Then
"You have my blessing."
Battler is confused....then so am I, cuz I don't know what "[Beato] is wins by that appearance [nanoha] and you and consequential [dakarayo] of [takarakoso]. " means, which is the next thing Bern says. Whatever if means it pisses Battler off. Bern talks about how the last game was a torture game for Beato, and killed her soul, leaving her a doll? Battler asks if she is saying he did this to her. She says something about things being decided victory or defeat, and him being depressed either way? I think? Then...I think she says he won but the game didn't end? Battler asks why. Bern indicates the fetter, the Rule that LD made. That yielding/resigning doesn't end the game.
She starts talking about when he yielded, and she supported him, although he didn't seem to perceive it(or maybe just not perceive it as help). Bern says she helped him with an advantageous development and a hint. She asks if he remembers. He tentatively considers that he may be supported by her, whether he realizes it or not.
Bern says the LD supports Beato the same way. And next time, Beato was the one yielding. So, LD supported her in a way that kept her from yielding. The fetter. She played, and was saved by the thing that did not forgive resigning. Battler looks uncomfortable, and understand that LD doesn't care how it 'saves' her. Bern continues.
She says the game started with two people. She asks if either resigns, admitting defeat, or win by checkmate. LD crushed Beato's ability to resign. So she can only lose through defeat. Bern praises it as amazing support. (God I hate Bern)
Battler tries to think through this. He considers the ramifications of playing the game. He also thinks about how he and Beato both struggled for victory, fighting their best. The game reached...something?...every time, because they tried their best. Then, Beato recognized defeat, wanting him to end the game, and end everything. So Bern is correct. Beato became a corpse because of him. But it was something they both hoped for.
"Our matches are already settled. but the game doesn't end. I was entrusted with Beato...I win quickly, and the game ends." (I think this is right, had to de-gibberish stuff)
Bern says nothing.
He continues, saying that the game continues as nothing but nightmare and torture for Beato, until a true checkmate is given, and the game ends with a true meaning. Beato must be given tranquil sleep. He keeps fighting for that. But eternal torture ...something... advances the game and Beato continues. To make them sleep peacefully, the sort of feeling to wring the neck with floss silk.
He talks about the trivial end of the game, Beato's resignation. He talks about the end of the fight, and returning to the family. It seems like he thinks he could return now, but won't because it would leave Beato to LD's fetter? He hates the game. (I lol'd, the translator kept going "It hates it. It hates the Game" gollum style)
Bern acts somewhat condescending, saying What? and asking him if he suddenly wanted to use discretion when he saw Beato's painful expression as he approached the truth. That is is nice to "go easy on someone" out of love. Or maybe he only has to let Beato, his opponent, win. She finished up with a taunt about Ange.
Battler looks angry, and keeps pausing as he speaks. He says he will return for Ange. Then, either he or Bern (move your mouth when you speak Bern >;o) says something along the lines of "even so....feel pity for Beato". Then, someone says
"Kill the witch tightly" whatever the hell that babble means. There is a lot of ........... of silence. I think it was Beato that said it, since Battler seems pissed that it was said in front of Beato's coma self.
Evil Bern grin, and her saying that his purpose is to kill her. That he was begged to kill her. And said..uh...gibberish. Then she comments that when a fingernail is peeled off, its better to do it quickly. Someone who does it timidly is horrible to be against/have do it. She asks something about torture, with a Hu in there.
Battler is silent. Bern looks at him, still looking kind of..uh..evil, and tells him to kill quickly if there is benevolence, "Kill". Battler suddenly responds, "Speak for yourself. I'll decide how to perform the last rites for (this fellow). You and the witch named Lamba Delta are unrelated. I (will? )kill."
Bern comments that it is nice if that intention remains unchanged., because she is betting on him. She asks if that's nice. Then, this:
As always, clearer translation would be great ;3
I'll break this up here, still continuing, just thought I'd let you guys read through what I've got so far here ;3
Bern says something along the lines of him not being forgiven if he abandons the game. Battler says he already knows that. She asks/confirms? him knowing the goal of LD. She wants him to lose the will to fight just as much, so that all that is left is two lifeless dolls and a destabilized world. This worries Bern. Battler doesn't really care about their situation, but he won't throw away the game, because it would be failing in his responsibility in the fight with Beato.
Bern seems satisfied. She asks if Beato if she can be killed without hesitation, I think. No reaction. Battler seems to agree to do it, although he seems bothered by the idea that there is no way to know if Beato was relieved or wounded by this. It seems to concern him a good deal, despite his assurance.
Back to the Meta-world frame over Natsuhi and Beatrice. Bern appears, and comments on the Beatrice in the game that is safe and drinking tea with Natsuhi. Battler kind of does his aaa thing, then denies Beatrice, saying she is another of Natsuhi's delusions, and that it is merely how LD, the game master, chose to interpret the scene.
There is a line about something and loveless and not seeing something, the Bern denies Beatrice with reasoning. There is the broken glass sound, and meta-Beato looks weak and mutter/groans as the words of truth hit her. Battler immediately says the reasoning is right, but not to say it in front of Beato. Bern says the result is the same no matter where it is said, because it is the world of Beato. Battler then reasons out that there might be an unknown theoretical Beatrice sitting there drinking tea, because there is not red limit on this point in time's number of people. Bern seems slightly annoyed, but agrees that he is right. He continues with this line of reasoning, saying that in the end the Beato there cannot be denied.
Bern considers this, saying "Ah, Schrodinger's Cat theory...but this can't pass..."
Then, she gets epic troll face, and destroys it with the red text. Natsuhi sits alone, drinking tea as the wind blows.
Blood drip effect/image, and Beato groans. Another fantasy broken, she edges closer to death. The fight to make Beato rest is that kind of brutal thing. Some Battler thoughts now. Bern has compared his fight to torture, slowly peeling off a fingernail. He realizes that if it has to be removed, it is his last kindness to do the least pain possible to Beato.
He realizes the mercilessness of the red text. Natsuhi sits alone in the garden now. The observer has only her, now. It is undeniable now that Beatrice was not drinking tea with Natsuhi.
Battler calls the red truth a edged tool, and Bern says nothing. He continues, saying it is the tool of...something, and the arms for a counteroffensive. Bern says that he understands, and asks what of it.
Battler gets a little madder looking, and tells her not to use it. She says nothing. He says you only use an edged tool when it is necessary. That it is a lethal weapon of malice. He says their game is in 1986. That the carnage of those two days, with red and blue weapons, is enough. That the events before them are not a witch fantasy, Natsuhi's privacy. No one has any right to expose it. Bern is still silent for a moment, and asks if he wants to say the witch drank tea there that day, and neither he nor the witch was denied by it.
He says the fifth game board is the two days in October, and the witch's existence only matters there. Devil's proof makes complete denial of the witch impossible. Talking about it in red is a stalemate and a foul.
There is some hard-to-understand debate about LD, and criminal theory, and stuff, then Battler gets mad and says it isn't something she can understand, and tells her to disappear. The game is between Beato and him. It won't be handed over to her. Bern responds simply with "..........unpleasantness."
Battler asks "How many?" (I think?)
Troll face Bern, saying she also plays the game, and enjoys it. She disappears, laughing evilly.
Back to meta frame Natsuhi, coma-Beato stands silently. There is a thought, either from Beato or Battler, "I am the only one left".
Battler asks about LD and Bernkastel. (lol translation says "Is the lambda .."cc.. delta in [berunkasuteru]?", which I'm sure is the content of a doujin, but isn't likely to be what is said here). Then he asks about Virgilia being her friend, and says they should have chosen (what?), then something about wellmatched and wicked. Beato doesn't respond. Battler looks uncomfortable, and is silent too. Battler helps her take another sip of tea.
Looks like end of meta scene for now. Will continue in a moment ;o
Natsuhi sits alone drinking tea. Looks like we are still getting Battler thoughts. He seems pissed still about how the peaceful tea party, with a happy, fun-having Beato and Natsuhi, was destroyed. She trudges away, leaving only a single teacup.
Next scene. What the hell name/title/whatever is [akekokorozakao]? Oh well, I'll figure it out in a second.
Jessica is the first person we see. She runs to her room to answer a forwarded phone call. Looks like it's Battler on the phone. Its the first time in 6 years they've talked. We see only one side of the call, meaningless chatter and lots of laughter.
Cut to Klauss having a business meeting in the parlor. Klauss and Natsuhi step out in the corridor to discuss things alone. Klauss seems positive, saying his connection to the governor has helped him a lot here. Natsuhi seems nervous things are going TOO well recently. Even still, she is mad that they still haven't fixed their debt, even now. She wants things done by the next family council. Blah blah, also, Klauss weakness is a lack of courage.
Scene change
Kinzo's study. Kinzo laughs about things not going well? Beatrice is chatting with him too. She mentions a demon consuming fate >_>? Natsuhi apologizes to Kinzo, that he might not be able to rest yet. He says that is fine. He says Krauss isn't bad material, but he isn't ready yet.
Beatrice talks about how each success at believing the magic makes belief in it stronger, building more and more power, and how she will embody the golden road of alchemy. Kinzo is amused, saying with Beatrice seal of approval things must go well. He also says he trusts Natsuhi to fix everything. Nastuhi is flustered, and thanks him, and tries to thank Beatrice again.
Beatrice says that they need to be careful at the upcoming family council once more. The doubting family member will be there again. They consider how to hide things this time. They are concerned about servants that know, and possible shows of rebellion in the other family members. They finally agree Kinzo must stay locked up in the study the entire time, again. Kinzo says he can't go against the will of the true head of the house.
More banter between Natsuhi and Beatrice, then meta-frame drops in.
SO, I managed to nuke a huge novel of summary just now by accident. Anyways, cliff notes version:
Moar BatBeato, to the max.
Okay, I'll give you more than that.
Battler considers the situation, and thinks for a moment that the real number of people is...then Beato starts grabbing her chest and groaning. He tells her not to worry. He puts his hand over hers, and using the blue text, crafts a theory that since nothing is said about Kinzo's life/death before the game board, or the number of people on the island before then, there is nothing wrong about what he sees.
As he does so, blue light goes into her chest and melts the red truth. She gets a tear, then her expression more or less disappears. However, looking at her eyes, he notices she looks sad, and relieved. He gets embarrassed looking at such pure eyes, and averts his gaze. Beato looks down, and he looks away, but neither moves their hand away.
He says not to misunderstand; he has no reason to fight her outside of the game board of the conference in 1986. So he won't deny her any time but then. He also considers the fact that he can now recognize in some way that his Beato is the same arrogant one he has always fought. He starts talking about the game again. He says a lot of stuff, but it basically boils down to wanting, as much as to know about the murder, to know about Beato. What she was, what she wanted, what she did, what she hoped for in her actions.
He ends, saying something about the gameboard, LD and witches which I couldn't quite de-gibberish.
Ok. Back to not-cliffnotes.
Whatever he says makes Beato respond, she nods her head slightly. Battler talks about how while the seat of gamemaster is held by LD and manipulated by the witches, the fight is still between Beato and him.
The game will begin soon.
Meta scene over~
The scene opens with Genji. He is talking about the secret of...some word that didn't translate with Shannon and Kanon. Shannon says she knows, and Kanon says "An identical hand must once more not run or doubt", whatever the hell THAT means.
Ah, makes sense now. They are discussing this year's hide Kinzo plot. This year, they will go with "Doesn't leave the study at all".
Shannon asks if Genji will close himself in there, then, for the time. He says yes(?!). And only three will be allowed to enter the study. The three servants with the family crest, I think it says. Kanon tries to get Shannon taken off duty, so she doesn't have to bear the burden, but Genji says it can't be done with only them, that they must strictly obey the orders of Natsuhi. Shannon agrees. Kanon calls her a name or something, and she retorts immediately with her own insult. Then...uh, not sure at all what this says.
Genji reminds them that the study isn't empty. Kinzo is in there studying diligently every day, and not to forget it. The two agree.
