If they are going to restart the franchise again I hope I pray they are going to keep it simple and not over the top . I would like it more so on the lines of POTC 1 then 2/ 3 . The original was the best in series and hope the new one sails in that direction

They did a great job in creating the right atmosphere. The characters looked almost real, the whole place smelt of seaweed, great fun. I’d go on it again.

They're just milking the cash cow... Although another PotC wouldn't be TOO bad.

A 4th movie was aobvious because of the so many interrogants the 3 left.

What's gonna hapen to the pirates now that Calipso is again free?

How did Jack became a Pirate Lord in the first place?

For what exactly reason Jack made the pact with Davy Jones?

If Barbossa was a subordinated of Jack, why he was a Pirate Lord as well?

What was the real reason of the hate of Lord Cutler Becket against Jack?

Will Jack recover the Black Pearl again?

And most important:

Spoiler for If you haven't seen until the end of the credits of movie 3, don't see spolier:

I personally don't think they need another one. The third movie made no sense to me, and I doubt the fourth would be any better. I dunno... the plot's just way to overstuffed now.

Exactly, but a little Miss Swan couldn't hurt, hope she helps out! And wouldn't it be great if the flying dutchman gives him hand, for old times sake?

Man I was hoping for a trailer with the OP of this thread
Kiera already said last year that she won't star in anymore, (3 was enough for her and she's tired of being stereotyped as generic english lady) - I dunno bout Orlando either, so sure enough it'll prob just be Jack for most part and a whole bunch of new cast actors.

If there's a way to make money, then the sequels keep on coming, even if some stories are better left alone.

To be honest, I'm happy with the 3, but meh, let's see what 4 brings...

There is no trailer yet because the movie is in pre-production. In other words, it's just starting.

And so far I had read on newspapers, we'll probably not see Will or Elizabeth, this movie will be all about Jack and Barbossa, which I like.

Same here. The 1st was always my favorite because it didn't feel like they were trying to fit too much into one movie and the fight scenes felt more real and with substance; Unlike the extreme, over-the-top fights in the 2nd and 3rd movies which dragged on far too long.

I'm exited for this movie, but not overly so.
True the sound tracks are great, but after the fail of the last movie I'm not going to hold my breath.
I am though willing to hope that it will be ok. This has the potential to be over milking the cash cow, or it could be something great.
is there any known change in cast or directing that could affect it?

/agree

When I watched the 3rd movie, I was not completely "Sucked-In" on the thing like I was on the 1st and 2nd movie.. A 4th one sounds interesting, I'll give it a shot. But I'm still not quite sure what to expect from it.

I'm gonna give it a chance cuz' Captain Jack Sparrow is in it. Not going to hold my breath. Hopefully they don't butcher it and make it a milking spree.... seriously, that would be uncool.

I loved all three movies, even though the third did feel abit hectic and out of place.

The 2nd and 3rd films left a sour taste in my mouth. Hopefully this one captures the simple adventerous tone of the first movie.

Fuck yeah I can't wait. I loved all three of the films.

My only worry is that you can have too much of a good thing.. but we'll see. Also, MERMAIDS.

I don't think I'll be watching this. I loved the first movie, but the second movie was just a poor replica of what made the first one good. And the third one was pure fanservice. I can be spared more fanservice imho.

Liked all three, and I think I'll enjoy the fourth. I don't get why people complained so much about the sequels, you'd think Michael Bay directed them or something.
