I don't know , I didn't like that Tokine went a jumped to stop Yoshimori. I kinda wanted him to go berserk and destroy everything within reason....if it makes any sense.

Did Yoshi's Zekkai kill Hiura ? that'd be ironic. While I get that he's probably not dead yet , I get the feeling he's not in the greatest of shape , if not dying.

According to the RAW Yoshimori's zekkai is the perfect zekkai (Sen told Masamori over the phone). The zekkai rejects things that Yoshimori rejects, such as Hiura's injuries and such. Of course in the past it has rejected Kaguro.

Yumeji describes the source of Masamori's zekkai is that of a "heart that rejects everything."

Or perhaps the conditions are just a bit different? The philosophy behind Masamori's zekkai simply rejects everything—total isolation in other words—whereas Yoshimori's zekkai is simply more 'welcoming' in the sense that it just differentiates what gets to be rejected..?

I read the chapter again, a bit more carefully this time.

From what I can understand Masa's zekkai rejects things and hurts to them. Yoshi's zekkai rejects things he does not desire and creates a world/zone in his vision. In Yoshi's desired world Hiura is fine, no injuries but as soon as he lets go of the zekkai Hiura goes XP

I guess Masa's zekkai can only destroy while Yoshi's distorts the reality.

That doesn't really explain how Yoshimori's zekkai is able to defeat Kaguro in the end though. The end result would have practically been the same had it been Masamori's zekkai with the same level of power. I mean, there's nothing illusory or reality-distorting about Kaguro's demise. Zekkai is the ultimate kekkai technique that can both harm and protect.

Isn't zekkai essentially a supreme barrier, an "absolute boundary" with a territory defined by the kekkai-user's ability and personality? If that's the case, then the only thing that separates Yoshimori and Masamori's zekkai from each other is the underlying state of mind, feelings and world view of the user—or in other words, the user himself.

Oh no, Masa's zekkai can only harm but Yoshi's zekkai can harm and protect. By protect I mean other people, obviously both zekkai protects its user. You are absolutely right about Yoshi and Masa's state of mind and I think that's why their zekkais are so different. Yoshi's zekkai rejected Hiura's injuries that's why Hiura was able to talk and all but as soon as Yoshi's zekkai was released Hiura's injuries came back. If this was Masa's zekkai Hiura would have been dead, instead of temporarily healed

Well, yeah... still the same meaning basically, like saying the glass is either half empty or half full.

Masamori uses his zekkai to protect himself, while it's also one of his most powerful techniques against his enemies. If anything that touches it is destroyed, then nothing gets through either.

But as Yumeji says, Masamori's zekkai is the sort that "isolates and rejects everything". This piece of insight isn't just about the nature of his zekkai, but also about Masamori himself. Similarly, Sen describes Yoshimori's zekkai in light of what he knows about him.

Ah well, I wish Tokine shows her zekkai and gains a familiar too. The former seems to have less chances of happening as Tokine seems to be more focused on the sekkai technique instead.

I think the whole diff. in mentality between the 2 brothers has been highlighted throughout the entire manga. Hence, I guess it's fitting that the reason for their totally different powers is their mentality and not just something from birth.

If you read the scanlation, you probably didn't pick up what I meant. In the raw, Kakeru keeps saying "Yada yada (which translates to: no no)" when she iss being carried away. That is what made me laugh. Haha. It's so cute. :p
