Lolicon =/= pedophile.
The term lolita actually refers to a female who looks like a pre-pubescent female (cute and flat-chested), hence the term lolicon means that someone who likes girls who look like lolis. And since looks aren't everything, it is evident that someone who criminalises lolicons as pedophiles aren't very well-read, lack intelligence to tell differences and obviously myopic to the extent that they bathe in their own ignorance. On the other hand, pedophiles often use the term as a getaway and hence the general population (which are not very intelligent in general too) affiliate both terms as synonymous to each other when there is actually no connection between their meanings at all. I don't know who gave you that definition of Lolikon but I'm afraid it's wrong. Lolikon doesn't mean pre-pubescent female, Lolikon it's actually the same as pedophile (sexual fantasy involving preteens, childs and babies), in fact, in Japan some bastards disguse child porn under the name of Lolikon (correctly spelled Rorikon) because both words has the same definiton. There's nothing to be asahamed, unlike real child porn in the anime or manga lolikon no real chil is being forced or phscological harmed so there's nothing wrong with it. Check this site with the oficial definitons if you don't belive the word of this poor user. ![]() http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=lolicon http://www.allwords.com/details-lolicon-2863570.html So, it turns out that: Loli_ (comes from the word Lolita= Origin in the book lolita) = Teen or Pretten who looks seductive. / No porn. Lolikon_ (correctly spelled Rorikon) means "lolita complex"= Sexual fantasy involving Preteens= Pedophilia/ Porn.

That's *a* definition, not *the* definition
![]() The "urban dictionary" in particular seems to reflect the bias of a certain faction on the Internet. I've put in a number of corrections there over the years that were ignored both for technical slang and anime slang. The "term" both evolves and means different things in different factions.... "loli" and "lolicon" have become almost useless to use as a descriptor unless you really know to whom you are speaking.

@SaintessHeart:
I will admit that Azusa comes pretty close. Despite my tendency not to display my otaku side in public, part of me wishes I had preordered a *NYAN* shirt: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/goods/goods...Y=NEOGDS-10884 Quote:
A great deal of the Urban Dictionary definitions I've seen of both "loli" and "lolicon" don't really match with the general usage of the term. And some are just plain strange, like the poster who implies lolicon porn is legal since the age of consent in Japan is 13 (wrong, it's legal in Japan because it's drawn).

I for one find it hilarious that someone would use urbandictonary as if it's a reliable source. It's a dictionary, as interpreted by 4chan.
![]() Also lolicon is the normally accepted romanization, not rorikon. ラリルレロ (らりるれろ in hiragana) can be romanized as either ra ri ru re ro or la li lu le lo. Since we'reusing a word that's already sort of english, we go with the english spelling, so we use loli, not rori. Likewise the コ can be romanized as either ko or co. While ko is prefered using the hepburn system, since were reromanizing a word that originally came from english, we go with what's closer to the english spelling, so co in this case. Of course you can point out that the ン should then be romanized as m and not n, but that's usually only done if the ン is followed by a b or p series kana (バビブベボ パピプペポ). Since the ン is at the end of the word, there's less room for playing with it. Of course in the full phrase, it is romanized as m because it's followed by a p sound.

Lolicon comes from lolita complex. So, yeah... L's and C's. Final n is kinda left by virtue of the abbreviation no longer having a labial consonant following it and because lolicom sounds kinda weird. I mean, we don't say sarariman for "salaryman" (another word that believe it or not went from English to Japanese and back to English).
... I'm discussing the semantics of lolicon, wow, sometimes I just gotta take a step back and reorient myself with reality... Spoiler for Back on topic!:

Nothing else I could add to the discussion. Well done, gentlemen.
Now shall we continue with the celebration? Spoiler for Oniichan~:
is what I hope she isn't saying, because it will somehow melt my brain. I suppose my stance is clear here, ![]() So which one of us will cross the line first, I wonder? ![]() @Raiga Ouch Shinobu. Not that I don't expect it... You leave Nadeko out of this okay? ![]() @Yoko Takeo IIRC, a mixture of Hanyuu usually deepens the impact by folds.
