just read the chapter and it's really not that bad, Komamura's monologue is decent enough to actually let him die then Tousen could have done his lunatic *mwuahahaha*-stance just to get backstabbed by Hisagi

but I still think this went too fast.. the last two chapters made understand Tousen for the first time and *bam* it's over -> I'm not used to such a high pace, not with bleach

Well, Aizen surely toyed with Tousen, like back then when Grimmjaw was punished,.. Gin on the other hand is much smarter and I think he sees right through Aizen, like when they had their convo after Grim lost his arm

I don't find Tosen's quick defeat all that surprising. I have always gone off those power graphs that were circulated a while back regarding the relative strength of the captains, and if I remember correctly, Tosen was the third weakest according to those graphs, in front of only Mayuri and Kenpachi.

I also have to say that the graphs in question have proved to be accurate, at least in my opinion, and continue to be so proved as the story progresses.

I think people never respected the graphs because Kenpachi was rated at basement level, but this never bothered me, because he was only able to draw with Ichigo before the latter even acquired a Bankai. I think at that point in the story, every single one of captains besides Kenpachi, and perhaps Mayuri (rated second lowest), would have slaughtered Ichigo. So, in my mind, the graphs make sense--despite how cool Kenpachi is.

I think people don't place much value in the graphs because they have a tendency to interpret the data in all the wrong ways. They were only meant to compare each characters strengths in relation to their own weaknesses. They were never meant to be used to rank captains in any kind of hierarchy for the simple fact that the stats mean different things for different characters.

This becomes immediately apparent if you simply compare some of Komamura's or Tousen's stats to Yamamoto's. For instance, it'd be very hard to convince anyone that Komamura's offensive and defensive strength is on par with (or even close to) Yamamoto's. It'd also be very hard to convince anyone that Tousen's physical stamina stat of 60 comes close to comparing with Yamamoto's stamina stat of the same exact amount. The data merely sheds some insight on areas captains specialize in and/or make the most use of in comparison to the areas they don't use as often.

I would have liked to say "Atleast he was killed by one of my most favourite characters" but then I just realised that's exactly what Kubo wants. He's always giving the more popular characters limelight and not developing the less popular. It's ridiculous. It's this constant pandering to the fanbase that I can't help but hate.

My rating: Bad - This is one the conflicts I was waiting for the most. It started off great but then the Kubo trolling kicked in and it ended up a bitter dissapointment.

Are you saying tousen was underdeveloped? All his moves were revealed back in SS, he has 2 Shikai abilities, and he got a decent amount of screen time in the HM arc. tousen was so developed that he had 4 rivals (Kensei, Hisagi, Komamura, and Kenpachi) We know more about tousen then we do about the main villain.

It's more the fact that he had the potential to be developed a lot more. Not just him but his rivals too. Kensei didn't even freaking appear in the conflict. Hisagi and Komamaru could go through slow character development. Kinda like how it is with Naruto and Sasuke.

Well he got a hole in his torso, so it think thats a fair enough resurrecion. Noit, Hali, Barry and Neli still retained their "swords" separate from themselves even if in a different form.
