Having rewatched this episode in widescreen, I realized that

I loved this episode, it brought back all the good old gigs that never seems to get old. Love Akio, Sanae, Tomoya, Mei, and Nagisa.

It is cannon, just placed differently than it was in the game.

It's not canon
You don't know what you're talking about because you haven't played the game.
However, you will see in After Story why it isn't possible for Nagisa to have an active role during the summer.

He HAS played the game, and it's anime-canon, not visnovel-canon.

Anime takes place over a much longer period of time than the game does. It'll still happen to her though, don't worry.

I consider this episode an alternative world episode, much like the Tomoyo OVA because during the entire summer, Nagisa is in bed. There's no way Nagisa can be having a date with Tomoya unless it's a parallel world.

It's pretty much that kyoAni adjusted the time line in order to fit in events outside of Nagisa route (like Kotomi's/Fuuko's route. eg. in the game Nagisa's play took place during the founder day festival, however in the anime it was Fuuko's little gimmicks that took place during that time, and Nagisa's play took place during another, later festival)

If anything, the whole Anime timeline takes place in a different world from the game's one.

Wow, forget the last episode, this is the true ending to the story. It was a hilarious episode through out. Tomoya and day dreaming are a dangerous combination, still doesn't top the Final Star Fish Princess, thing. That octopus bread looked nasty, sorry Sanae, The bread she gave Mei looked good. I also liked Misae's little prank on Sunohara.

Ahh, is this the Sunohara fantasy episode?

Mei really steals the show this time. While her brother can take massive amounts of damage, Mei is apparently immune to Sanae's bread.

Kinny Riddle Gone for Good Join Date: Apr 2004	Having rewatched this episode in widescreen, I realized that Spoiler for Tomoyo After reference, not really spoilerish: the junk collector truck passing by the bread store in ~8:00 is the same junk collector that Tomoya would have worked with in the alternate universe in Tomoyo After.
