Would sort of sabotage Signum's position as the anachronistic outsider of the cast. I should think I like her better as she is but, as you say, it all depends on how the development is done.

That's been going on for a while though. In A's she was the Stoic Leader, but through most of StrikerS she seemed to mellow out a fair bit. The honor dueling with Zest was when we saw more of the old Signum.

Still, is it too much to hope for an old fashioned grudge match?

Aaaah, now this takes me back to the yaoi days where two rivals who did nothing but try and kill each other were assumed by all to want to penetrate each other with something aside their giant swords.

Well, SSM4 seemed to suggest that Signum has softened up considerably since StrikerS under Agito's influence, so this wouldn't be a sudden massive change in her character. But I agree that it needs to be well-developed for it to work. Having her going all dere-dere too often (which is to say, often at all) would ruin her character...

The supposed interpretation of Cypha's supposed character boggles me. From what she sounds like, she sounds more like a mix of Tre and Cinque, as in the typical calm, tenacious yet prone-to-tranquil-fury character, who at the same time, is nice and kind to family/friends but harsh to others. Sounds not unlike Signum at all, except that she may not have the same kind of sarcasm.

... That is of course, if we can trust her character interpretation from Isis's notes. Considering that Isis thinks Veyron has a pretty cool fashion sense, so her taste is pretty doubtful.

For a while there, I thought I was seeing Johji Manabe's art in that Signum-Cypha standoff.

Cypha's pair of over-sized weapons and how they stick so closely to her stand out in particular.
