They were definitely speaking Brazilian Portuguese, so they got that part right.

There is a decently big Brazilian population in Japan so its not an outstretch that they got a native to script and read aloud those segments.

I know I have to suspend my disbelief for pretty much any fictional show, but it's hard for me to make the jump that any Brazilian national team member would show up in a non European club (or a South American club usually as a loanee). That said, I liked the ep as a continuation of the maturation of ETU. It was funny seeing those Brazilians just do what they want just before the game.

Not really. Sometime Brazil nat. Teams often pick some player from "unknown league" on their 30-50 draft player list and when they play some friendlies the number is increasing, and yeah they already can classified as "National Team player" even if they not playing or dropped from the draft.
But I suspect the CR's Translations not accurate /detailed enough for these lines, but that are only my suspicions.

Ah yeah, I forget that that nations have a pool of players to pick from. I guess any player that's been "capped" can be considered a national team player. Though the "Selecao" are pretty popular.

Just watch until eps 9.
Finally the team is United.

Can't wait for eps 10 to see the starting of Giant Killing.

They where Native speakers of Portuguese (Brezilian accent).

Still why they made them like the three stooges is any body's guess XP

The series is actully fun to watch but I kinda miss the never ending run of the Captain Tsubasa series

I'm portuguese, so ya I can tell you their voices were definitly native brazilian.
T'was really funny. It's a pity that the voices were so low though. The pitch of the voices didn't correspond to animation.

Still. The subs were a bit off.

"Pepe, você não está exagerando?"
"Pepe, aren't you exagerating?"

In the subs I have "Pepe, there's no need to buy so many!".

One's a question, the other an affirmation/exclamation.

Same.

As for the voices I like the fact they found native speakers for all the languages even if the lines are a bit odd

Kuro was kinda cool in this episode. I guess he really is compatible with Itagaki... Birds of the same feather.. I guess.

While the episode focuses on Kuro, Dori is so damn awesome too. He let none of the on-target shots by the Brazillians become goals! How dependable is that?!

It seems that injury curse that is currently plaguing the national teams has also hit ETU.

am i the only one who is getting tired of this stupidly slow pace the show is going at. For a sports anime there is WAY more talking then game action out of all the soccer animes i have seen this has got to be the worst one in term of pace well ill leave H2 out of it cuz yeah back then the pace wasnt seen as slow.

You're missing the point of the series. Unlike a lot of sports anime, Giant Killing is all about player psychology and how it's manipulated, not game action/tactics. That's why there's comparatively little soccer depicted.

Subs are out.

So Tatsumi's plan was really for the team to hold out in the first half in order for them to learn how the opponents play.

Now that they are the second half, the team knows how to counter the brazilian trio's moves much easier to the point that its annoying them.

So are they planning on waiting for the team to get annoyed and then make a mistake?

Also, is Pepe a mute? The guy never talks.

it dose not mean they dont get thier first win tell EPS 10 or this game has 2 be 3 EPS long Unless this Anime is going to be 50+ EPS long this pace is going to make them rush the rest of the way.

This series is some kind of wonderful, but the episodes all feel about 4 minutes long. I appreciate the skill in leaving the audience wanting more, but I'd love to see just a little more progression of game time each week.
