Looking for anime

So im getting back into anime since i have time and ordered off some anime

Samurai 7 (blu-ray)
Samurai Shamploo (blu-ray)
Full Metal Alchemist Season 1 and Season 2

I already have DBOX 1,2,3, Full Metal Achemist Brotherhood Vol1, Claymore and all the old basic stuff like akira, ghost in a shell, ninja scroll, kenshin, trigun, cowboy bebop etc.

I have seen Naruto and did not care for it, im waiting for bleach to come out with big box sets in america to buy those but im looking for some newer or even older action packed anime, it can be mech, gunplay, kung fu whatever i just don't really care for pure comedy/drama anime, i heard naruto shippuden(SP?) is like what dragonball Z is to the DB series, is that true? is it better then naruto? i tried and tried to get into naruto watched episodes 1-60/65 and found it incredibly boring and too kiddish for my taste is naruto shippuden(sp?) worth a try?

any suggestions would be great

Well in my opinion (the Naruto anime fans will be on me like rabid wolves) the naruto anime is so filled with filler, it's not really worth watching (I never watched it all anyways, just a few scenes I wanted to see animated)

If I may suggest, off the top of my mind

You should check out

Death Note: it's got so much suspense you'll fall off your chair. (this is not a kids anime, if you dislike "child-ish" anime )
Code Geass: Quite action packed in the later episodes, with mecha if you're into that mixed with a Death Note-ish flavor.

Going by what you enjoy, One Piece could be the show for you. Then again a lot of people are usually turned off by it for silly reasons.

If you are interested in watching them right now, contact me in a pm and I'll share some of my sources, as posting links openly is against the forum rules

Naruto Shippuden is just a continuation of Naruto, just a part 2 if you would, and is still raked with fillers.

And as what Shiroth says, indeed One Piece is a great anime to watch, however not everybody likes the art style used.
It just takes some getting used to + it's really, really long
(I myself read the manga)

I agree. Don't listen to the people that say it's too 'kiddy' or 'cartoony'. It has one of the best plots and it makes you feel for the characters.

Also try out Vandread + Vandread 2nd stage, it's one of the older classics in my book.

I might go with one piece later on it has way way way too many episodes for me to start right now i already have a big back catalog of stuff i want to watch.

as for naruto shippuden being part 2 i know im asking is it a step up like DBZ was? while watching naruto it just felt more kid friendly and real goofy like DB was then i saw clips of shippuden and it felt more mature like DBZ did

The latest Shippuden episode looked like this:

Spoiler for Be Warned, Looney Tunes inside:

While it may be a step up from the regular Naruto, it is still filled with fillers, however it is a big improvement over part 1.
If you really want to watch it, I would suggest you give it a shot, I'll post a sample on your profile so you can see a bit for yourself.

In a way Shippuden is a more mature version of Naruto, leaving out more of it's comical side and focusing on the plot, but it's still pretty much the same. Try checking-

Yu Yu Hakusho: I found it pretty entertaining, it's got a fair share of comedy and action, it's a decent anime if you like plot twists. Be warned, full episodes are hard to find on the Internet.

I'll give a nod to One Piece I myself was initially skeptical of the art and how the story went but it was put to rest very quickly and I don't regret ever wasting my time with it, it's actually become my favorite anime

I guess you might want to try Busou Renkin 26 episodes long and for me I'd go as far as saying it's a better ver. of Bleach but thats just personal opinion.

Full Metal Panic is a awesome watch, one of my favs.

I highly recommend Sengoku Basara based on a video game and just outright epic fun to watch, 2nd season is just about to air also.

and guess for another epic action Needless works as well.

No, you don't.
I started reading the naruto manga halfway and am just now giving attempts to read the beginnings as wel, but it's not easy /shiver.

even while I started reading halfway, I still figured out what was going on and who was who.

I recommend "Darker Than Black" first season. I am not a fan of the second season, but I found the first season to be absolutely delightful in regards to fight scenes, seriousness, and plot.

You could always just read the manga if the episode count is a bit long for you? Sure there's just as many chapters, though they don't take up as much time if you read a few chapters a day.

Oh man, especially the manga. Everything that's happened since the adaptation ended in the manga has been about 10000000x better.

Best way to watch Bleach/Naruto from the start (and one piece to a lesser extent--there's much less filler and its usually decent so its not that big of a deal to watch), is to use a site that lists fillers. I usually go here for Naruto:

http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=501381

It lists what is canon and what isn't, and shows what manga chapters/pages are associated with each episode, etc. Its very helpful.

Whoa Qwey! Very good link, that will be quite helpful to a friend of mine who wishes to catch up on Naruto. Did you say Bleach has one as well?

You need this:
Seirei no Moribito
Darker than Black (2 seasons)
Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~
Black Lagoon (2 seasons and an OAV)
Xam'd: Lost Memories

For older Series:
Cowboy Bebop(Get the movie too, its fucking great)
Berserk (The lack of rape in the anime is disturbing)
