I'm trying to give Gothic 3 another chance (i lost count how many tries i had with this game to finish it) since Arcania: Gothic 4, is just around the corner... Since i loved the first two games so much i would like to know how it all ends .... Thank god for the community patch that i can say for sure.

^Gothic 3 ran okay (w/ community patch) on my old graphics card; not that great since the card was pretty old, but decent. I upgraded and thought I'd give the game another chance, expecting it to finally run really good. Well with my new card it ran and looked like crap--worse than before. Risen came out a couple months later (and was decent) and I haven't looked back. Crossing my fingers for Arcana.

^The game is a bugged unoptimized mess because of that the community patch is a must, Piranha Bytes did a very sloppy job on this game, with my current card/PC it runs overall good except for the some stuttering when loading areas that would plague even the best PC's.... I completely agree though that with Risen they did a much better job though, but like i said i'd like to know though how the story finishes considering i loved Gothic 1 & 2 :P.

^I'd say you wouldn't miss much doing a quick run with a walkthrough. The game is nothing on its predecessors. It's like a less good version of Oblivion with smaller world, less color, fewer types of foes, and even less one-liner "dialogues;" the last point is an insult to the earlier Gothic games.
Mind you, I admit that though the world is smaller than Oblivion the geography is better designed. High mountain passes and deep valleys actually feel as such, and there are some interesting landmarks that are pretty fun to traverse through. |

Been playing the World of Tanks beta.
Pretty fun. I'm itching to get a real tank though soon, the Panzer Mark II with a 20mm auto cannon isn't much chop for a direct firefight against some of the high tier light tanks. I'll probably unlock the Wespe Self Propelled Gun and try artillery for a while.

Encounters in Space was probably the 25th PS2 game I played, I liked Gundam back then still like it a little now.. But Unicorn is not going anywhere in episodes.

Currently Playing: Mario 64, Super Metroid, Sonic CD, Dead Rising, MGS: Peace Walker, Tekken 6 and any Megaman X game. It's a good list if I do say so myself. Mainly waiting on the release of Dead Rising 2 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Since LOTRO just went f2p I think I'm gonna give it a serious go... I played the trial a year and a half ago and liked what I saw, but didn't want to get into an MMO at the time.
edit~ *looks around in bewilderment* ...I think I was just somewhere else... *plops down with a sigh* Last edited by jedinat; 2010-09-11 at 00:24. |
