Anime of the Day
Kaichō wa Maid-sama!  Seika High School, once an all-boys school notorious for its wild students and for generally being a terrifying place for girls, has recently become a co-ed school. With the female population still a minority and living in fear of the over-the-top antics of the males, Misaki Ayuzawa takes it into her own hands to reform the school and allow the girls to feel safe in the rough environment. Training, studying and even becoming the first female student council president of the school, Misaki has gained a reputation among the male students body as an uptight boy-hating dictator and as a shining hope for the teachers and fellow female students. However, despite her tough-as-nails appearance, she secretly works part-time at a maid cafe in order to support her family. Unfortunately, her hard-earned reputation is threatened when the popular, attractive, and somewhat impassive Usui Takumi takes an interest in her after discovering her in a maid uniform after school. It's a decent package for anyone that like DFC characters like Misa-chan and complete package of Usui Takumi (makes me remember some characters from Ouran and His and Her Circumstances), the story gets interesting with the introduction of Misa-chan's childhood friend later on. |

Today's anime of the day is:
Seitokai no Ichizon (2009)  Seitokai no Ichizon is set in a particular Student Council room, in a particular school in the outskirts of Hokkaido, Japan. Hekiyou Academy has a unique Student Council election system, where the usual voting system is at play, but only the most popular students may be nominated as candidates. Upon all this, a valedictorion may surpass the election rounds and be promoted to a seat in the student council without any catches, excluding the fact that you have to score the highest average in your recent end of term exam. The plot revolves around the daily discussions, adventure, drama and antics of four girls (Kurimu, Chizuru, Minatsu, and Mafuyu) and the protagonist Ken, an eroge player who vows (unsuccessfully) to make all of them into his harem. The description really does no justice to this show. Upon reading it, many people might think it's just your boring run of the mill moe series, but it's NOT. Seitokai manages to pull off the most hilarious humor I've ever seen in an anime. It constantly breaks the fourth wall and the number of references in this series is insane, including (but not limited to) everything from Higurashi to Dragonball Evolution to Strike Witches to Jigoku Shoujo to Metal Gear Solid to...well, you get the idea. It just keeps throwing more and more hilarious moments of rich comedy in your face, and at times I literally had to pause watching at times because I was laughing too hard. The characters, while you can call them stereotypes in a sense, manage to have traits that make you love them anyways. Ken, for example, isn't your average bland nice guy protagonist, but states what he wants from the very beginning (THE HAREM END!) and works tirelessly by himself so that everyone in the student council can have fun together. You wouldn't believe a show that has no plot whatsoever can have great character development and touching moments at times, but Seitokai manages to pull this off and it doesn't feel forced in any way. The animation is pretty good for a Studio DEEN anime, and I love the character designs (the school uniform is really pretty too). Music is kind of minimal in in Seitokai, with the opening being okay and the endings sounding like they got the seiyuu drunk when recording (not like this is a bad thing, actually ). The voice acting is great, considering the fact that all of them are voiced by new seiyuu, and they manage to convey the character's personalities well.If you're looking for an excellent comedy anime, please go watch Seitokai no Ichizon. You need to have general knowledge of anime and games to get most of the references, but it still is tears-inducingly hilarious no matter what.

I agree Ichizon was an amazing Comedy that was well executed ,animated, and voiced, I had over looked the series last year personally, then saw it my anime group over the summer and went how did I miss this series before
 . It really is one of the most funny series I've seen, and it was really hilarious every episode. P.S. I disagree with you on the themes, the OP sounds great in my opinion, while some versions of the ED did sound more like you said .

Seizon is actually one of the best show I ever seen,
Its has great art, humor and well, harem (with the main character actually wanted one opposed to the usual unwanted harem....) Simple to say, one of satisfying anime I ever watch xD (MAFUYU LOVES YOU ALL!!!!)

Seems my proposed idea (posted several pages ago) to put the Anime of the Day on the front page is not implemented this causes multiple post of a certain anime unless a certain one browse all pages and reminds everyone about it.
Anime of the Day Happy Lesson  The plot of Happy Lesson is based on five teachers who end up living with a troubled and indifferent orphan and their unusual plan to become mother figures in an effort to make him a productive student. To achieve their plan, they employ various methods, such as science experiments, spiritual cleansing, physical training, and hijinks. A good example of a Harem anime, which even Sugisaki of Seitokai no Ichizon desires too much from his student council members. |

Since it would take forever if Metropolis did it, I decided to make one instead.

Anime of the Day
Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai  Kyōsuke Kōsaka, a normal seventeen-year-old high school student, has not gotten along with his younger sister Kirino in years. For longer than he can remember, Kirino has ignored his comings and goings and looked at him with spurning eyes. It seemed as if the relationship between Kyōsuke and his sister, now fourteen, would continue this way forever. One day however, Kyōsuke finds a DVD case of a magical girl anime entitled Hoshikuzu Witch Meruru (星くず☆うぃっちメルル?, Stardust Witch Meruru) which had fallen in his house's entrance way. To Kyōsuke's surprise, inside the case is a hidden adult video game titled Imōto to Koishiyo! (妹と恋しよっ♪?, Let's Fall in Love with Little Sister!). Kyōsuke attempts to fish out the culprit who dropped the case by bringing up the topic of magical girl anime at the family dinner table. All that comes out is a strong negative reaction from his parents, especially his anti-otaku policeman father. That night, Kirino bursts into Kyōsuke's room and, in perhaps the first conversation she has initiated with him in years, says they "have things to talk about." Kirino brings Kyōsuke to her room and shows him an extensive collection of moe anime and lolicon bishōjo games she has been collecting in secret. This anime draws first blood this season with the one hell of a sister and still ongoing, although Sora no Otoshimono series draws more, which I expect someone should post it sooner or later. |
