It's possible that Chihiro do not love Keima (yet) through. Maybe just like others said, she know that Ayumi in love with him, and can't stand her best friend "being cheated on"

Never really thought about that possibility...My mind was wrapped up with the possibility that Chihiro had already fallen in love with Keima and was supposed to be angry with him because she felt jealous...Maybe she already done that but didn't accepted it yet. So perhaps, 'being angry because of her friend' is one of her process to realize her feelings ? You know, the plot in most shoujo genre that when your best friend actually liked the same people as you.

Yeah that's exactly what i mean. The archetype of girl who try to root for her best friend when can't keep herself secretly hold affection against him... That way she can still within Keima's capture range even when she does not have any memory of him (a Goddess).

But yeah the plot go wild earlier than i expect. I thought something like this would happen in Valentine... but it seems Kanon quaked up the harmony balance... Recent chapters are clearly the best

Although Chihiro just cheering Ayumi is a theory I haven't considered before but I think Chihiro's attitude when Keima(Yui) first joined the band showed that she likes him. We could tell that she was happy more than just having a new drummer.

I've read the spoilers and it certainly adds a new element to the search and how Chihiro and Ayumi responded.

The fact that Jun and Minami completely didn't respond to Keima at all shows that the title of "goddess candidate" isn't as tossed around as we thought last week. With that being said, I guess Keima crossing out Mio and Kasuga isn't that stupid after all since there seems to be clear signs that Keima is getting that gives him 100% confidence to cross them out. Also, he currently has a "hypothesis" as to how the goddesses find hosts. If I didn't know any better I'll say that since he is the main character this hypothesis is correct and that if he crosses off a girl it means for certain that she doesn't have a goddess. So with 2 goddess, 2 goddess candidates and 4 cross out we still have 8 more to go. (We the reader however know that Akari isn't one and we're 99.99999999% sure that Rieko isn't one. If it turns out she is then BIGGEST TWIST EVER. Adding to the fact that Keima can't check Hinoki, we got 5 more girls.)

Personally I think that the emotions from the conquests last a bit after it ended but since Ayumi and Chihiro are actually in Keima's class and they meet regularly their feelings carried over. However with Minami and Jun since they are not near Keima their feelings slowly went away. I guess we can expect the same results from the other non-classmate girls too.

Truth is I found chapter 107 to be particularly interest as I spotted some evidences to a goddess. I don't know if someone mentioned this already but they way Ayumi changed her mind in the middle and decided to teach Keima how to run is eerily familiar to how a goddess would suddenly change personalities.

For example, why a girl could have only one runaway spirit inside her?
And why a runaway spirit, wanting to be reborn in the girl's child, would risk to be discovered.
Logically, he would do whatever he can to keep low profile.
Instead, they appear in broad daylight, turning girls gigantic or invisible.

My guess.
As there are goddesses, there are demon lords.
Really true poweful demons, smart enough to stay discrete, using weaker runaway spirits as decoy.
Once the girl has been captured, New Hell lets her alone.
So the demon lord forces his enslaved runaway spirit to stand out, and get captured.
Then, he's free to wait for his reincarnation. Or to pursue a bigger plan...

So Ayumi, as all other girls, might have a goddess or a demon lord inside her.
Ruling girls out just because they don't have goddesses doesn't mean they won't have a major role later, for example as major antagonist.

And since multiple love triangles are the best for generating evil feelings, things will surely go even wilder if my guess turns true.

I bet Keima will end up with as much as goddesses (6) and demon queens (6) on his side.
Plus the New hell girls (2, Nora is the older sister of Vintage's girl, so she's a potential traitor).
Plus the normal human girls.

Negi (Negima) would be proud.

So I was re-reading some chapters and I just noticed a possible hint for goddess hosts. Here lemme show you:


That one is on chapter 54 page 14. Of course that is waaay before Kanon was introduced as Apollo's host.

Now if you're observing Diana and Apollo carefully you'd notice the "effects" when they manifest. Here:

Don't have my scans with me so I can't sift through them for more hints and my net's kinda slow so this is the only one I've spotted atm.

edit: sifted through chapters 72 onwards and I only saw the effects on Yui.

So Keima is planning on checking the girls outside the highschool first. so maybe the next ones are the chess girl, and sumire?

the kids who were around that camp near the cave Weiss got escaped were all also Keima and Tenri's classmates and they are the same age as Tenri. it's possible all the goddesses got inside the little girls that time.

I wish Sumire had a goddess within her. She was one of the girls I really was enamored with, too. Were the spoilers correct, that would be practically only five girls left.

I mean, I'm sure as hell that it's not going to be Rieko, and it won't be Akari, too, seeing that she's some sort of demon princess. That leaves us with Hinoki, Nanaka, Sumire, Ayumi (very high possibility), Chihiro (ok), Yui (didn't show any residual effects with regard to Keima, however, and didn't understand the fact that Chihiro and Ayumi fell for Keima), Tsukiyo, and Shiori.

I have this feeling that between Ayumi and Chihiro there's really only one goddess, so that there'd be three more to figure out. I'm hoping one of them would be Sumire, but I have reason to believe that Hinoki is going to be one of the girls with a goddess. She had some residual memory within her that led her to kiss Keima very passionately after the spirit was released, so ...

The rest is a cointoss, but if the goddesses are attracted to people who are like them, it would most probably be:

Mars: Hinoki/Haibara/Sumire
Mercury: Ayumi (I mean, seriously)
Minerva: Shiori
Vulcan: Hinoki/Haibara/Sumire

Notice how he marks a big triangle over Ayumi? She's much more suspicious than Chihiro. Chihiro may really just be jealous, but Ayumi was unlike herself and was very violent, as well. From that list, it may very well be the persons nearest him (in location) and farthest him (in location).

well, the size of the triangle is actually the same from the spoiler, we still dont know how the real list is in the chapter. maybe Keima handwrote it.

I still hoping Kusunoki have a goddess inside her, she's too good to be thrown away. or at least please have Hinoki in Wakaki sensei

I pretty much figured when the author excluded Neptune that Minami wouldn't be a goddess; Jun was a flip because she could fit the nitch of Vulcan or Minerva although it could also be seen that her introduction is more of a tie in for Akari's buddy, the other teacher whose name escapes me at the moment who was observing Keima's actions that could vaguely have been foreshadowing to her character at this point. But it helps narrow things down quite a bit. From my perspective here's the current outlook of captures Keima hasn't gotten into contact again.

- Reiko has a long shot of being a goddess, unless there is a twist but it wouldn't make sense for a Goddess to be without a body unless she takes over a target that has a crush/loves Keima but doesn't have a goddess for a source of power for instance.
- Shiori, Sumire, and Nanaka; their arcs ended sort of closed. Shiori and Sumire both benefited from the capture to progress from their negative aspects and are able to continue on daily lives. I can't remember much about Nanaka, but all three of these have low chances unless they are weaved back into the frame of the story quite nice in their reintroduction.
- Yui, a coinflip. If Yui fits into the role of Mercury based on my previous post a while back of properties of roman Dii Consentes -> Host/Goddess relations; but if she doesn't then from my perspective with the story frame at the moment its a clear cut sign to have Mio be reintroduced as that role instead. After joining the band she doesn't seem intrested in Keima, but at the same time she was observing Chihiro's and Ayumi's reactions to Keima during the Elly date after the Hinoki arc.
- Hinoki, and Tukiyo; Hinoki not being in the story or doing her own thing makes for a easy catalyst for her appearance in the story as a later time. Due to her interest in design, she fits the role of Mars or Vulcan. Also being the eldest of the bunch, she could fit the role of Vulcan as a leaderhead figure (Vulcan forged Jupiter lighting bolts, and of the six goddesses is the closest to Jupiter from my knowledge). Likewise, Tukiyo iirc is the daughter of someones design corporation I remember Elly saying it during her quick bio of her, Vulcan is also attributed to jewelery, she was also seen blushing and looking at Keima at the end of her arc weather that was symbolic for her change or foreshadowing is up in the air.
- Ayumi, all signs point for her to be Mars to be honest or in the very least a Goddess "holder".
- Chihiro; if I had to say Minerva if she did have a goddess, remember that she according to Keima was all around average - Minerva fits the bill pretty much although she is primarily attributed to art (Clay Dolls, Pottery, other crafting stuff) and wisdom. If there was a Venus she'd be it. THere's also other tid bits of Minerva details and information, but I really doubt the author went that into detail (did that amount of crazy research/tie ins) but it could fit.

Of course, this is based off the assumption that there is a goddess in one of Keima's past targets and they don't add more faces. Which is not to say, Kasuga or Mio aren't possible targets since like I said before Keima sorta glazed over them (Keima pushed Kasuga away while focusing on Hinoki and Kasuga did seem a bit peeved/jealous that he was doing it, and Keima was in Yui's body for Mio). If one of the sisters is a goddess, Vulcan/Mars I have to say regardless with current information.

Before checking on Minami, Keima said 5 more, so minus Minami it becomes 4. Why though? The girls number should have been more than that. I don't really understand on what base Keima decide it.

I think he's talking about the girls in his school. If you cross out everyone thus far, the ones left in school are Yui, Shiori, Tsukiyo and Akari.

I'm guessing it's easier? I mean, Rieko lives in the countryside, Sumire is in the city, Nanaka is in a different school, and Hinoki is at God knows where. I suppose it's simpler for him to go through all the captures in his school before moving on.

Sumire will be the easiest to find (he can go to the restaurant) and It'll be interesting to see if her father had any memory modifications. Nanaka will be somewhat harder, he might have to ask Tenri to help him sneak in to her school. Rieko is more difficult to check, and Hinoki is LOL worthy for him to try and get to.

Another problem with Rieko is she doesn't fall in love with Keima and looks like her memory isn't modified either (all of it happened when she's asleep). Sumire is in the same city with Jun (Narusawa), they can meet Jun during school break so they can easily go to Sumire house too if they want to. If meeting Sumire during school considered to be troublesome, maybe they will meet her after school? Nanaka can be contacted via Tenri, while Hinoki via Kusunoki (need to meet Kusunoki again first to do that though while she's already crossed out).
It is easier to find the girls in school though.
Kanon got color pages when Keima found out that she has a goddess, so I expect the next goddess-confirmed will have color page too (Shiori please...).

I think he ruled out Kusonoki simply because of what happened in Hinoki's arc. I mean seriously if Kusonoki has a goddess in her the progression of Hinoki's arc would be a lot different.

And before someone calls spoiler on me, no this ain't a spoiler. Keima ruled out Mio and Kusonoki at chapter 119. :P

I spotted those effects on Ayumi and Chihiro(same panel) too. From my observation it's an effect Wakaki uses to depict someone/something that is shining. Elsee's radar used to use a different effect on earlier chapters but I noticed that on some of the newer chapters Wakaki also uses that same effect now.
