Whitebeard is certainly capable of destroying Marineford by himself, but the 3 admirals are just as capable of thwarting his efforts. Remember, they're called the marines "ultimate assault force" for a reason.

And this isn't even accounting for Garp and Sengoku.

If you saw the Episode 0 OVA that tied to Movie 10 then I'm sure that's enough proof you need to see that he can fight.

Yeah, the last little bit of the episode was epic, with Luffy standing before 3 admirals.

I agree, the way they drew Luffy when he was doing stamp gatling against the admirals was hella-cool.~

The way he came in on Jinbe's attack was pretty awesome as well.

That was one hell of a good episode, especially the beginning. Epic carnage+ epic music = win.
Did they use new music for this episode? Because i couldn't recognize most of it this time.
And I'll have to disagree with you guys, the animation for Luffy at the end looked a bit weird to me, no matter how bad ass.

The animation of Jimbei catapulting Luffy with a spear wave and the foot gatling gun was absolutely amazing. Not much advancement pacing wise, but the same could be said for the manga counterpart at this point.

Spoiler for my take on ep 474:

Akainu's attack did a lot of damage, not surprising that he took out Moby Dick also, wonder how they would escape now, Whitebeard couldn't even break the encircling walls, liked how Luffy lead that reckless charge towards Oars' body, Oars being alive was awesome, Jimbei's throw with Luffy was badass, and then he even landed in front of the admirals and threw down the stamp gaitling as a challenge, if Luffy didn't make it at that time Oars might've died, next ep Whitebeard pirates enter the plaza and round 2 begins, though it looked like they Ace's execution is about to start, it's strange that he's in the same position as his Roger was when he died, maybe that's just how they execute everyone

a few questions because i haven't read the manga:
why isn't Garp an admiral if he's so strong
what's Sengoku's ability, because i saw the Strong World OVA and he looked on par with Garp

Garp could've been an admiral. But in I think chapter 0 or the chapter designed specifically as a prologue to the Strong World movie that it was stated that Garp turned down the promotion numerous times. Aokiji thought Garp was cool for turning down a promotion, to which Garp replies that a VA is the best position he needs to have the freedom to do whatever he wants. For the Sengoku ability, he's a buddha man, a mythical zoan. He can grow to a large man like a giant, looking like a Buddha, which primarily increases his strength.

the OVA told the reason why Garp isn't an admiral:
he just refused everytime they wanted to promote him, according to him he can do whatever he wants in his actual position and doesn't aim to be on a higher rank (aokiji said garp was such a cool guy because he did that)

Notice how Whitebeard has only been using one attack at a time, imagine the damage when he really tries to destroy everything with a constant barrage.

Wouldn't it be easy to make a tear down Marineford to where Ace was, have Marco go down the tear, pick up Ace and fly back?

But then he would be putting Ace's life at risk, which defeats the whole purpose of his rescue mission.

If you've read the manga, you'll see why it's no easy task to get to Ace.
