You're definitely not alone in that area. Though I think most of us have done enough (perhaps more than enough in my case) nay-saying at this point to stop and actually wait for the anime to air before further commenting as to not ruin people who still look forward to the series .

I still like Nessa's twintail redhead with green eyes design. Better than that purple hair. He's hitting those otaku requirements.
Loli *check* Twintail *check* Redhead with green eyes *check* Now if she develops a crush for the protag, then that list is complete.

Redhead with green eyes appeals to otaku? I personally think it's not a very good combination. Red hair + blue eyes is superior.

I hope that the opening theme will be doned by Miwa (Sony Music Entertainment), a female singer who have big influences on Yui. Her first single Don't cry anymore was released in early 2010. She has already released an single called "Change", served as a 12th opening theme to Bleach.

I dunno. It might go at a fairly brisk pace; I don't think it has much room to move very slowly considering it's only 12 or 13 episodes (Like every other fucking series ever made these days) and seems like the type of story that covers a lot of ground. I wish 26 would return to being the standard, but I don't think that's going to happen for a while, if ever.

Genuinely very much looking forward to this, and I barely watch anime any more.
I don't give a toss about Yamakan's past as a director, or how much the designs deviate from the concept art (I mean, duh?). I like fantasy anime in nicely designed pastoral worlds where the women are fully clothed and the plot is potentially interesting, why shouldn't I be excited about this? Yamakan's hyperbole about the success or failure of Fractale is a load of hot air and the man should just shut up. Hopefully the show will stand on its own merits. |

I first became interested in this series based on the concept art. The anime designs are not horrible but they are disappointing in comparison. The plot still sounds interesting to me but fantasy anime tends to be hit or miss for me.

The official website has updated saying the novel version titled fractale/reloaded is beginning serialization in Media Factory's book information magazine Da Vinci. The article describes the novel as "another fractale" and states it will be different from the anime and comics.
