Secret Seals?
Ok, every site I can find that has information about the hand-seals performed by the Naruverse ninjas point to a set of 12 hand formations that stand for each of the 12 Zodiac signs.
That's all very well and good, but there are more than 12 seals as demonstrated on various occasions. First of all, the Kage Bunshin final seal doesn't resemble any of the standard 12 seals that we are familiar with... so what is it? To use the Suiryuudan no Jutsu, Kakasji and Zabuza go thorugh a complicated series of Seal totalling 44 in all, 42 of which are composed of thestandard seals. I've checked the manga and the Anime and both confirm that there is another seal in there (closed fist layed over an open palm); at first I thought it was just a descrpency in the Anime, but I checked the Manga chapter and there is an extra symbol in there that does not corrospond. (it looks like two long horozontal lines flanking one short horozontal line, connected by a vertical line through their centers) Now, the point of this thread was to ask; Does anyone have any solid information/theories on what these special seals are? The only lead I have is that (delberately or not, I don't know) most, if not all of the Zodiac hand seals resemble acctual Alchemical hand formations from ye olde times. Anyone? |

He's talking about the symbols for the indivisual hand seals. They represent animals and things on the Zodiac. I'm not familiar with the Zodiac or hand seals although I know the Ninja use them in real life. If you see seals that aren't official they may just be hand seals they made up. Makes sense to me. That or they're seals not on the Zodiac, perhaps something specifally Japanese.
http://www.narutofan.com/index.php/c...e,hand%20seals This site shows all the hand seals of the Zodiac, they are all there in Naruto. Perhaps an extra seal you might see is simply the user changing the position of his hands. |

There are probably dozens of hand seals whe don't know. It's just something we'll probably find out about later. I remember seeing a picture of the first hokage doing some kind of messed up seal. It was the exact opposite of the tora handseal, index and middle fingers wove together while the ring and pinky where sticking out. Also, there's the final seal to the byaakugan. Not to mention others... we'll find out later I guess.

appareantly they also make use of "half" seals. Anyway I just saw that the site has been down for a few days now so I don't know when you can check it. But my guess is that everything seal-related will be cleared up in that guide.

ignoring dalton's "zo mai gad naruttads!!!" post, the "mystery" seals are actually "real" hand seals. Sorta like the various hand positions in meditation. Someone linked to a site about it once, but its in the bowels of previous pages now.
Incidentally shikamaru's thinking hand allignment is one of those indian/buddist meditation things, designed to open the mind. |

Pissing people off is not the point, having fun is. You see much like my smarter friends the gophers. I live my life in order to have fun. And it seems you are having a hard time pissing me off even though you're only point is to insult me. I however now manage to piss you off even more without a single bad word
You're funny |
