They skipped on many things of the novel but I'm not complaining. xD I still got my favorite scene so everything's cool.

I seriously thought they would censor that scene though. The one where Sion says: Have you even seen me naked? and Nezumi just smirks and says: What if I have?

Oh wow. <3

So is his name Sion or Shion? I've been seeing it written both ways? *confused*

The funny thing is the anime may stray from the BL so it may be disappointing to the audience they round up. Actually as much as I hope they keep Mouse and Shion relationship true to the novel, in the heart of hearts I doubt they will. Even the novel itself won't put a name to it is from what I gather. You know what they're about but they won't say it out loud, that sort of thing. hush hush

He's just being nice and diplomatic about the rejection is how I take it but it may be the other way too. I'm sure the anime wants to be ambiguous to please the boys. I feel that there won't be any conclusion and the focus probably won't be enough to trigger canon couples war. Shion x Safu vs. Shion x Nezumi

BL preferences aside. I'd probably be a little more "accepting" of SafuxSion if she weren't so pushy/bossy.

Something about her "pressing" to get answers kind of turns me away from her. And that whole "I know you're not jealous because I study psychology and the effect of A and B and C restorts to D and......So you're a liar! You're not jealous!!"

I was like: Woah....c-calm down a bit. D:

But anyway, I doubt we'll get any "definite" pairing in this anime. It'll most probably give hints for both pairing and then viewers can keep the pairing they like in their hearts.

I really liked Episode 2. Some thoughts on it in the spoiler space below.

Spoiler for No. 6 Episode 2 thoughts:

By the way, if anybody is enjoying this anime so far (and mostly/entirely for the reasons that I outlined above), then I would recommend Ergo Proxy to you. There's considerable overlap between this anime and Ergo Proxy, in my view. At least so far.

@Kirarakim: Officially it's Sion but Japanese doesn't have a character for "si," only one for "shi" so most people translated it as "Shion" before the website made it official.

ah Sion you disgust me right now. No way you turned that down like that. Did he really just pull the friend zone line on her?!-_-. Episode 2 was really good tho, like the atmosphere of this show.

Yeah, he went there, she's leaving in a few days he has no commitment after the fact and he's like:
*shrugs* "No, Thank You."

He knocks it outta the park and then just stands at home plate, surprised at his success, I'd think he was playing for the other team too.

Episode 2 definitely felt rushed (though I don't know just how much since I haven't read the manga/novel), I was shocked when I saw Sion all grown up already. I expected them to develop Sion and Nezumi's bond a little more before skipping ahead. Nonetheless, that was still a very good and intriguing episode. I knew I'd love the setting.

The killer bees are very creepy. I guess they're some kind of biological weapon created by the people running No. 6.

The dialogues were highly entertaining. If all anime girls were as straightforward and cool-headed as Safu, there would never be any misunderstandings. Nezumi's lines were great too. Honestly, I can't blame Sion for going gay for him. Nezumi is awesome.

Just found this and had to post it:

Also thecartdriver had this to say about the Safu thing XD:

"A girl just asked me to have sex with her. Straight faced, no joke, deadly serious. I’m not sure if I want to, maybe we should talk about it fi–holy shit was that the voice of the guy who held my hand once!?! Must abandon pussy in the search of his warm body. His oh so warm hand in my hand. His thick, throbbing etc."

I don't really like Safu, but I have to admit she had guts ^^

Episode 2 is better than episode 1 in my opinion. Still, it doesn't present us the main point of the series. Even though we can probably guess where this is all going, the lack of an antagonist and/or a red line to follow is a bit discomforting. It feels as if these two episodes together are still trying to tell you what the show is about, but still failing to. A prologue can only be this long you know...

On another note. I expected they would dump Safu when Sion goes to the outside world together with Nezumi, but she did not only made an appearance this episode (and made quite a scene as well) but apparently she's also going to be in the next one.

The premise of these utopia-like future cities where people lack personal freedom are getting kind of old though. Maybe it's just that I've read too many books who use this kind of setting already.

One thing I've been wondering.

Spoiler for NO.6:
I like the fact that we don't have, right now, a specific person as an antagonist but I'm sure when the protagonist figure out what the hell that bee was they'll probably find their antagonist.

If they're trying to fit all 9 novels into 11 episodes somehow, then I expect future episodes to have the same rushed pace (or even more) as this episode. Doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing though. This episode, rushed as it seemed, was still very enjoyable to watch and didn't fail to deliver the dynamic chemistry between the characters, esp. between Sion and Nezumi.

Here's my (goggle-free) observation of the relationship between the two boys:

- Sion hasn't been in contact with Nezumi since they first met four years ago. But somehow he could recognize his voice right away when he heard it again four years after, and then recognized his face right away when Nezumi made an appearance. Not to mention he immediately dumped his girlfriend to chase after Nezumi when he called him, and then told her he's something very important to him (but not in that way). Not to mention he doesn't seem to regret helping Nezumi back then, even though it cost him his fancy lifestyle, elite education and so on. Not to mention...

- Nezumi has been (presumably) stalking Sion all these four years, (presumably) keeping a close watch on him. He immediately jumped in, risking his life to help when Sion was in danger.

...Nope, they're totally not gay for each other! At all.

Actually, what I really wanted to say is I loved how the two of them both acted like not a day had passed since they first met, how they casually bantered amidst the dangerous situation. It's almost like they've known each other for ages, despite the opposite.

Yeah, next episode is probably going to be rushed as well, from the preview it seems they'll finish volume one and go to volume 2 in it (and that's a lot of stuff).

-to be fair to Sion, he recognized Nezui because he is the only person with grey eyes Sion knows. Plus it's not just sion that doesn't regret losing his fancy lifestyle, his mother is pretty happier now. But yeah, their actions still show they have...uh...a very strong bond XD must.not.put.goggles.on!
