Episode 17 was good, though personally could have been much better. A lot of the anime original scenes added to spread out the episode kinda destroyed the impact that funny bunny has, but i guess it still did the job. Shame they actually didn't use the pillows version for the concert, though we did hear another version at the end.

Did annoy me that the last scene didn't have Bossun, Sketch and Himeko singing the song as they left the airport. I adored that little scene in the manga.

For those interested, here's what the funny bunny performance (and the airport) scene look like in the manga, along side the original funny bunny song by the pillows. It's a must watch.

Funny Bunny was the name of Sketch Book's song? That explains the rather cryptic appearance of the stuffed bunny rabbit.

What did the plaque say? I missed it.

They did nerf the impact like Shiroth said above, but wasn't too bad. They've could done alot worse. Overall another good episode added to it's belt. Not sure I can say there's been an anime where I've enjoyed every episode, so this one is a first...

Oh and if it stuck to the manga's version the the plaque was for best song...

Overall, I was kind of disappointed by this arc. Not that it was bad, but it definitely didn't live up to all the hype.

The next episode looks glorious on the other hand. Thinking about it, the Genesis episode is the only one that made me really laugh so far, so I have high hopes for this ep. Harima Kenji and his games are the best.

Well, yeah. The anime really screwed this episode up. It was a three chapter story with the 3rd chapter, the performance, being the climax and this one was rather predictable and stiffly done.

This episode, or rather, this story could have made this anime pretty popular had it done it right. I like that they gave Bossun and that chick a little connection. The manga does a good job of being an all age type of manga but the anime is definitely for a younger audience. I fear most of what I like about the manga will be killed by the anime. Nonetheless, I hope it gets to be popular because the manga deserves it.

As we've said already, the episode wasn't nearly as good as it should have been. Heck, i much prefer the video i posted then this weeks episode.

If anyone feels like checking out the manga version of this arc, it's chapters 49, 50 and 51.

sket dance. one of the best animes from jump in past couple of years. just love it . gintama is a first but sket dance pretty close imo

Since the OP and ED hadn't changed after episode 14, I thought we wouldn't get any new ones. That took me by surprise. I LOVE the new opening (and no, it's not (only) because of the swimsuits

), even if it's a bit misleading -had I not known the series, I would have thought this was a show about a music band

The hyperion game fully delivered. It was just as dumb and over-the-top as Genesis, therefore awesome.

Episode 8 was super fun. I've been in Himeko's place several times. Could totally relate.

I miss the first ED song. I really liked it.

Aside from Himeko wanting to destroy the board, the game being presented in real-life, and Roman's segment at the end, it wasn't all that funny.
Love the new OP and ED though.

strange, I must be the only one who thinks that the manga is more hilarious for Hyperion. anyone caught the frame where Switch took out his specs in the OP? Flag!

1) Harima Kenji-sensei needs to go away. But the game setup was hilarious.

2) NO MORE PILLOWS?!?!?

3) Himeko + swimsuit = win. She might be my first beach queen figure

4) I would definitely ask OL-chan out. Nothing like a cute, sad girl and Cuervo!

5) The manga did it wrong. The girl did not have toast in her mouth.

6) The ending was really nice. Seriously.

The new OP and the Roman part was the best of episode 8. Well I did laugh when Himeko was so fed up with the game that she started to nonchalantly polish Cyclone instead...

Much more over the top then the manga, though that's obvious when we have such visual scenes. Especially that Zafu. Loved the Roman scene, haha. That was in the manga, though it's part of a small chapter, so it was nicely placed here. Two very funny chapters will be animated next week! As for the new OP and ED, i rather like them both. Sure it's no pillows, but we can't have them forever. I especially love the animation and visuals for the OP. Fits the summer theme rather nicely. __________________ MyAnimeList Twitter
