A small scouting party loaded into a jeep from Class G was nearing a beautiful blue structure in the Daws Desert. It’s color and spiral shapes were at extreme odds with the surrounding wastelands, filled with rocky landscape, canyon walls and scarce water supplies.

The leader of the scouting party was Lotte Netzel. Her company were Rene Randall, Magari, Mischlitt and Alexis Hilden. Though their earlier scouting mission was finished, Lotte asked the group to make a small detour. Her passion for news and reporting had her checking out some rumours of an ancient Valkyrian structure, located in the Daws desert. For days Lotte had rearranged schedules and begged to trade places with other students who were supposed to patrol the Daws Desert region.

Finally, she had gotten her break when Chloe agreed to change places with her that day. She couldn’t stand the heat and if Lotte foolishly wanted to go traipsing around the Daws Desert, chasing rumours after the patrol, she’d gladly switch places with her patrol in the cool Leanbluff woods region.

The Jeep then came to a halt, just in front of the towering structure. It was remarkably intact for as old as it was rumoured to be, numbering in the hundreds, possibly thousands of years old.

Lotte began snapping pictures immediately, then jotting down the date and time at which they reached the structure.

“Amazing…” said Magari, “I’ve seen pictures and read about such a structure before… in the Barious desert. But to see one for myself… I have no words.”

Mischlitt nodded, “Though it belongs to the Valkyria… I must admit; It is quite remarkable…”

Alexis looked over her shoulder, towards the setting sun, “We have about two hours before the sun sets, Lotte.” said Alexis, “But I think we can only spare an hour before we have to start heading back to the academy in order make it in before nightfall and the gates till morning. I trust that’ll be enough time for you to gather what you need?”

Lotte nodded as she scribbled some notes into her small black book, “Yes, yes, Alexis. An hour should be more than sufficient… I hope.”

Lotte then laughed as she skipped towards the front entrance of the huge blue structure, her company following close behind her.

However, after only a few minutes, Lotte was rather disappointed that the inside was far smaller than it looked. There was only a midsized main room with four large blue walls with ancient valkyrian text written on the walls, just inside of the structure. All four of the tall blue crystal wall was a spiral doors leading to other areas of the structure. But for some reason, the doors couldn’t be opened. There were no door knobs, handles, or anything to grasp onto. The doors didn’t slide back or forth, up or down or in any normal fashion. It looked like their adventure would be over far sooner than an hour if they couldn’t get past the main room.

This is exactly what Alexis was thinking as she leaned against one of the walls and rested her chin on top of her hands that were placed upon the pommel of her sword handle.

“Seen enough?” Alexis asked.

Lotte groaned and it echoed across the dead quiet room, “I don’t know… I can’t believe I waited so long for this opportunity. Only to not be able to properly document my findings!”

Alexis nodded, then picked up her sword and shield, “Well, what can you do.” she said, she then turned to Magari and tipped her head to the side, “Come on, guys. Let’s go back to the jeep.”

Rene and Magari looked at each other and nodded, then began to follow Alexis and left the structure. After a few moments, Lotte finally gave in, sighed and started to leave as well. However, she soon stopped when she saw Mischlitt standing over by one of the blue spiral doors.

“Whatcha looking at?” Lotte asked as she walked over to her.

“It’s this writing… it’s quite beautiful.” said Mischlitt as she traced the lines with her finger. “I seen it before, but only in history books. I never realized just how deeply they’re all carved into the blue crystal wall--”

There was then a loud *Click* as Mischlitt took another step forward and stepped onto a large square pressure place, just in front of the door. The blue spiral door only opened up tiny bit, but it was more than large enough to shoot out a spray of white gas that hit both of the girls directly in the face.

“Gah!” Lotte cried as she back up, took off her glasses and began to rub her eyes and cough out loud. Mischlitt was doing the same.

“Sweet, Merciful crap! What was that?!” Lotte asked. For a moment she was worried that it was something harmful. But she held a hand to her chest, breathed in and out a few times and found that her lungs were working perfectly and she had no other trouble. So the gas wasn’t poisonous, and that, at least, was a relief.

Lotte then decided to check on Mischlitt, “Mischlitt!” Lotte called out, putting on her glasses at the same time. She then spotted Mischlitt, still bent over coughing. Lotte was just about to rush to her aid. But Mischlitt nearly fell forward, placing her hand on the blue spiral door to help catch herself.

Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, the door ‘spun’ open, revealing a long hallway with multiple doors on either side of the corridor. They were already opened up as well.

“Oh my goodness gracious!” Lotte said excitedly, completely forgetting what had happened just moments earlier. She then entered the hallway and looked around in awe, she was finally going to land a major scoop here.

“Oh, Mischlitt! Thank you so much!” Lotte said, though her back was still to Mischlitt, “I don’t know how you did it, but your number one in my books!”

However, Lotte soon stopped when she heard… growling. Slightly quiet at first, but it was quickly growing in intensity with each passing second. Lotte slowly began to turn around, and that was when she saw Mischlitt standing directly behind her. Her lips were curled back in a snarl, , her cheeks twitched, her teeth was bared, and there were two streams of saliva dripping out of the corners of her mouth. What frightened Lotte the most, was the sheer amount of rage in Mischlitt’s eyes. It was more than rage, there was bloodlust in them.

Mischlitt then roared and charged at Lotte, who only managed to emit a terrified shriek for only a split second before Mischlitt was upon her.

Meanwhile, the girls who were waiting outside had heard the shriek of distress coming from within. The girls all bolted upright from the jeep and looked towards the blue structure.

“Lotte! Mischlitt!” Rene and Magari said one after the other.

“I thought that this was supposed to be a secured area!” Alexis shouted, “Grab your weapons, and be ready! There may have always been Rebels lurking within these walls!”

The girls then rushed inside and scanned the interior. To their surprise, one of the doors that was once closed… was now wide open. They ran across the room and headed for the door. It was the only place their friends could be, since the rest of the small room stood empty.

Something on the floor caught Magari’s attention. Once she reached it, she bent down and looked at it, “Oh no… These are Mischlitt’s glasses!”

“Yes… but where are the girls?” Alexis asked as she gripped her sword handle even tighter, getting more and more nervous about who or what could be lurking within the new area.

“Hey, look at this!” said Rene as she brushed past Alexis. She then knelt down on the blue floor and touched a small pool of blood with her fingertips and held it out to the girls. “Blood…”

“This was a foolish idea… Why did we agree to come here in so few numbers!” Alexis complained to the air.

Magari shook her head, then continued on down the corridor. She looked into each open doorway that she passed, desperately searching for Mischlitt or Lotte. She then spotted Lotte on her side and not moving in one of the rooms.

“I found Lotte!” Magari called out to Rene and Alexis. She quickly entered the room as the other girls were running to her position.

“Lotte!” Magari said as she knelt next to Lotte’s unconscious body. Slowly, she turned Lotte over and was horrified to see how badly beaten she was. There were multiple bruises all over her face, bumps visible on her forehead and even… teeth marks on her neck.

Rene and Alexis then entered the small room and looked down at Magari, who was already working on tending to Lotte’s horrible wounds.

“What in the world happened here…” Rene said with a trembling hand against her mouth.

Alexis shook her head, “I don’t know… but while Magari tends to Lotte, the two of us should work on finding--” Alexis was then struck in the back by an enormous weight and was thrown forward, nearly slamming into Magari and Lotte. She then skidded along on her stomach and came to a halt. Someone was onto of her, snarling and roaring like a wild beast.

“Mischlitt! What are you doing?!” Magari screamed at the sight of her good friend, on top of Alexis and clawing at her back.

Alexis yelled in agony as Mischlitt bent down and sank her teeth into her neck, just above her shoulder and bit down hard.

“Get her off me!!” Alexis screamed as she kicked her legs around wildly.

Rene and Magari rushed up to the two and grabbed Mischlitt and attempted to pull her off of Alexis. But her strength was amazing, because even with the two of them pulling as hard as they could, she barely budged. Worse yet, her teeth were still embedded into Alexis’s flesh as she thrashed her head around like a dog with a chew toy, tearing into her neck even worse.

Though she hated to do it, Magari took out her pistol, and pistol whipped Mischlitt across the head with it. It worked, as Mischlitt rolled off of Alexis, who held a hand to her injured neck and groaned painfully.

But, Mischlitt quickly recovered and was now on all fours, growling and baring her teeth like a rabid wolf.

“Mischlitt! Don’t--” But it was too late, Mischlitt charged at Magari and Rene. Rene’s protective instincts caused her to shove Magari out of the way and take Mischlitt’s full on charge on her own. It worked, Magari was spared, as Rene fell onto her back with Mischlitt on top of her, trying to punch or claw at Rene. When Rene had a grip on both of Mischlitt’s wildly clawing hands, Mischlitt simply leaned in towards Rene, snapping and biting the air repeatedly, just inches from Rene’s face and getting closer and closer.

As Mischlitts snapping jaws emitted loud clicking sounds and saliva sprayed against Rene’s face with each chomp, a white gas began to fill the room. Rene looked over and saw that Magari had fallen against the far wall and was sliding down to the ground. But her body must have hit a large square button on the far end of the wall as it was sliding in with the sound of stones grinding together.

Mischlitt’s snapping jaws and wild movements suddenly stopped just after Rene heard a sickening thwack sound. Mischlitt’s head dropped forward and Rene could see Alexis standing there. She had struck Mischlitt in the back of her head with her sword pommel and successfully knocked her out.

The gas that was quickly filling the room caused everyone to cough and attempt to cover their mouths. Alexis reached down, “Come on! We’ve got to move!” Alexis said, ignoring her injury and even attempting to lift Mischlitt up and drag her along with them, even after she was so viciously attacked by her just moments ago.

Rene nodded and stood up just as Mischlitt was lifted off of her, she then turned back to where she last saw Magari. “Magari! Can you walk? We have to get out of this place!” Rene screamed as she ran up to Magari, who was crouching forward, her small hands were holding the sides of her head.

Just as Rene grabbed a hold of Magari’s shoulders, she shook them off, “No! Stay away! AH~!!” Magari screamed painfully.

“Magari, what’s wrong?!” Rene asked as she attempted to walk up to her.

This time Magari pushed Rene away so hard that she fell back, “Don’t come near me! Something’s… wrong!!” Magari said while breathing hard.

“What’s wrong?” Alexis asked.

Magari was still holding the sides of her head and looked to be in extreme pain as she grimaced and fell to her knees, “Leave! Now! Before I… hurt… you…!”

Rene gasped, “Why… would you want to… hurt us?”

Magari shook her head, then dug out her pistol and slide it across the floor towards Rene, “Take it! Keep it away from me!!”

“Magari, what--” Rene only managed to asked, before the entire structure began to shake beneath their feet. As it shook, something strange was going on in all the once large and empty rooms. Something different appeared in each room, such as once hidden stair cases that descended down into the earth, doorways that opened to other rooms and passageways that turned and curved all over the place. It was hard to believe, but the whole complex was turning into what looked like a huge labyrinth.

Alexis then heard something, the sound of a lot of grinding as something big and heavy was descending from the high rooftop overhead. She leaned out of the room and looked down the large passageway that they had come down, and that was when she saw it.

A huge slab of blue crystal was slowly descending from the roof and in a matter of minutes, it would seal all of them inside.
All the while, Rene was still trying to plead with Magari, but it was having no effect. It was clear that Magari was trying her hardest to keep herself planted on the ground and not attack her friends.

Thinking rationally and putting the group first, Alexis shouted, “There’s no time, Rene! Grab Lotte and bring her along! If you don’t come now, we’ll all be sealed in here and trapped forever!”

A hidden doorway then opened up just behind Magari, she was already crying, “You know I’d… never hurt you… Rene… But I can’t help it!” Magari cried, then in an instant, her personality changed, as well as her voice, which become more angry and almost evil sounding, “Hurt them! Kill them!” Then she changed back to herself just as fast, “Always… loved you… Rene… I’m so sorry!”

Magari then ran into the open doorway and it sealed shut as soon as she was through.

“NO~!!” Rene screamed as she ran up to the doorway and placed her hands against it, trying desperately to get through.

“RENE!!” Alexis screamed, “Grab Lotte and Come on! We haven’t much time!”

If it was just her own life at risk, Rene would stay and be sealed in with her best friend, Magari. But it wasn’t. Lottes life was also at stake, and knowing that the only way to help Magari was to go back to the academy and bring help as quickly as possible. And even that option would be gone if they got sealed in by the huge crystal slab that was moments away from cutting off their only exit.

Rene then moved away from the blue door that Magari had gone through, ran to collect Lotte from off the ground and then followed Alexis as they both struggled, groaned and grunted as they ran for the exit. The ground was still shaking, the whole place was still changing and the slab was almost to the ground.

The girls actually had to dive and roll to get under the slab just seconds before it slammed shut and sealed off the labyrinth on the other side.

“What did we stumble upon…” Alexis asked aloud.

Rene shook her head as tears fell from her eyes. She then crawled forward on her hands and knees and placed her hand against the huge slab. “Magari… we’ll come back… I swear it! Please be ok until then…”

I took Runty's idea about Magari and Rene being inside an ancient Valkyrian tomb, temple or structure or whatever it was. But I made some pretty major tweaks.

Spoiler for new idea:

I decided to make it this way, since the Darcsens seemed to be the main enemy of the Valkyrian race in ancient times. So, they booby-trapped some of their tombs or temples with poison gas, which drives any Darcsen who breaths it in to fly into a blind rage, attacking anyone within sight.

This would work, because if a large war party of Darcsen tired to storm a Valkyrian temple, the gas, *which also has no affect on any other people* would turn the war party against one another and they'd kill eachother, instead of their intended enemy.

I had an idea to use this for a Imca fanfic, but i know nothing about her or the events of VC3. I was patiently waiting the release of VC3 but that seems unlikely now :*( and I don't want to just watch youtube videos to learn the events, characters and such.

And going with Runty's idea, Rene has to go into the Labyrinth, avoiding traps, the risk of never finding her way out and other ancient dangers to find her best friend and bring her and her sanity back.

Nice twist on the story, Snowman. Me likey.

@Beri270T3: First off, I have to admit that I don't really understand what you mean by simplifying the fighting of a Darcsen group. Perhaps you could reword it?

I'll be changing the firing+distance parts, now that you pointed it out I realized how silly it seems. Would you happen to know any reference for what actual orders generally sound like? I have zero military experience, so I'm trying to research but I'm not always sure where to look.

I'll also try developing the gunner as a character, like you pointed out it would only natural for them to interact quite a bit. Plus, I always liked the idea of expanding a bit more on relations on the antagonists' side, it's not something you see too much of.

Well what I had meant by simplication of the Darcsen group was directed at Runty although it wasn't apparent. It isn't necessary to go overboard and include VC3's Calamity Raven. Sometimes simpler may be better. Whoever fights back against the Revolutionary Army's assault could be and is more likely to be a civilian with a little .22 rimfire, shotgun or civilian rifle for hunting game the size of red deer or elk. Others like constables or former service members might have rifles not yet retired from service. That's assuming these relatively few offer resistance. So I hope I've cleared it up some Mirena.

Distance isn't so much of a problem. Engagements can be close and they can be far. I was mainly pointing out that Audrey has great responsibility rangng from that of an individual crew commander to that of the entire force. Perhaps greater than she had during the previous war.

As far as tank commanding goes I have little clue either. I have no combat or military experience either so it comes down to making something up and presenting it well. Two methods I can think of for direction are to use clockwise degrees in 30 degree increments or else the clock. 10 O'Clock should be about 300 degrees for example. Then your distance is most likely metric.

Commands are normally simple and straightforward I believe. Common terms used may be Armour-piercing (AP), High-Explosive (HE), cannister or case, smokescreen, Co-ax (co-axial) or machine gun. But that's getting into the nitty gritty. Terms such as 'Hull-down' and various others can be easily googled and tend to give you the gist of their meaning.

I'll also add that if you've ever worked with tracked machines they can be a real pain to clean and maintain (>.<) so I assume that tanks would be similar in that respect.

Mind if I chime in on tanks? Beri covered a good portion of the bases, so I personally feel the need to point out that, with tanks, not every shot will do damage to a given vehicle, unlike how it's depicted in game.

Also, for reference, "Hull Down" is positioning the tank (for instance, on a hill) in a manner that places the tank in a position where enemy tanks will only see part of the turret and the gun, thus minimizing how much they can hit. Very, very useful against other tanks, bad against potential Artillery hits and (though we needn't worry about them in VC) airtrikes.

Chiming in further, as a World of Tanks player, and someone who's been reading various things...

Given the current settings of VC, tanks are going to have 3 main ammo types: High Explsive (HE), which is a large shell filled with explosive; Armor Piercing (AP), and High Explosive Antitank (HEAT).

HE generally provides a big explosion, but does not have much penetrating power; AP is designed to penetrate tank armor but does not make much of a bang; HEAT combines both into a round that penetrates tank armor and explodes inside for maximum damage possible.

As has been said, hull down is a position where the tank's hull is positioned so that only the turret and gun are visible. Advantages are that less of the tank is exposed, but a lucky mortar hit will kill it.

As shown in-game, tanks are vulnerable to the side and particularly the rear - common WW2 doctrine was to circle the enemy and shoot him from behind (unless one was in a goddamned KV-2 with the derp gun or a Panzer IV or a Panther with the 88mm gun - both guns could oneshot enemy tanks from the front).

Lacking gyrostabilisation systems, which would only be perfected by the time of the Cold War in our world, tanks cannot fire on the move and expect to hit anything. Thus, tank combat consists of what is called "shoot and scoot": tank aquires target, driver hits the brakes, gunner aims and fires, tank moves again, from cover to cover.

Engagement sequence would be directed by the tank commander - assuming a 4-man crew (commander, driver, gunner, loader), an engagement would take place something like this:

Commander: "Traverse right, target tank at two. Gunner, AP, tank!"

Loader: *grabs an AP round and slams it into the breach* "Up!"

Gunner: *aims* "Identified!"

Commander: "Fire!"

Gunner: "On the way!"

Commander: *confirms destruction & orders engagement of next target* "Target! Cease fire! Traverse left, target tank at eleven."

Process repeats until enemies are all dead, ammo is all used up or tank is dead.

Perhaps, that Coleen one-hit seems that it would be quite short and sweet; just like Coleen :P haha! But honestly, it would be no where near as long as the Magari or any one-hit so far. And a nice break from all the serious stuff.

I also had an idea for a Chloe one-hit;

The story would start after a battle in the Diebal mountains. Class G had just driven off a band of Rebels, but not before major damage was done to the village.

Tired and grumpy, Chloe wanders off and sits on a rock, trying to forget the tough battle. But nearby, a small Darcsen child is peeking out from a nearby rock and looking at Chloe. Chloe grunts angrilly and tells her to stop staring and that she can see her spying on her.

The small Darcsen child then emerges from the nearby rock and slowly approaches Chloe. Once she reaches her, she holds out a large notepad and shows it to Chloe. Though Chloe is annoyed, she takes the time to look at it and is surprised to see herself drawn laying prone in a crudely drawn house with a rifle against her shoulder. Pictures of Dead Darcsen and rebel soldiers are also drawn sprawled out all over the snowy drawn ground.

It is then that Chloe realizses that, this child is an artist, and that she draws what she sees. She must have been in hiding during the whole battle, perhaps in view of where Chloe was positioned and drew this new picture.

When Chloe tries to confirm this, the child does not respond. Chloe tries to urge her to tell her why she drew this, because it reminds Chloe of how she was 'forced' to draw all the horrible events that she had witnessed for the Gallian army when she was younger.

A Darcsen woman approaches the two and tells Chloe that the child has not spoken since she witnessed her parents killed by rebel soldiers in an earlier Darcsen 'purge' of her hometown. She then shows Chloe what the child drew and it disturbs her when she witnesses a Darcsen man and woman, lying in a pool of blood with rebels laughing at their dead bodies.

Though the child does not speak, she tails Chloe throughout the village. Probably because she can tell that she's a fellow artist *Chloe does wear paintbrushes and other drawing materials on her uniform*

But, Chloe isn't a people person, so after a while, she gets really annoyed and ends up lashing out at the small Darcsen child, who ends up crying and running off. Chloe just shakes her head and heads back to her unit. They end up leaving, but not long after they depart, they learn that the Rebels have launched another surprise attack on the village, as if they were just waiting for Class G to leave before continuing the purge.

While everyone's trying to figure out what to do, Chloe remembers the small Darcsen child back at the village. And now realizes that she was special, and that she was like her when she was younger, drawing what she had seen in such terrible times. So, before anyone can stop her, Chloe jumps out of the transport truck and runs back to the village, determined to save a fellow aspiring artist.

Which story should I do next? It's a toss up between the; Franca+Nichol story, the Coleen+Morris story and finally, the Noel+Susie fanfic?

I want to finish an old story, All sorts of ideas are floating in my head for each story. But I'm not sure which to start first. All I need is a little nudge in one direction so... WHICH story do you guys WANT to be shown next for my one-hit thread?

Here's all the ideas;

Noel+Susie

Lanseal is informed that Susie Evans, daughter of the Evans family, has been kidnapped by Rebel spies and is being held in a heavily defended region of Rebel territory. Class G, among other classes, is dispatched to rescue Susie, along with completing other key objectives in the area. Class G's job, however, is rescuing Susie. The Gallian high command wants Susie brought back alive since her parents are strong supporters of Cordelia's rule.

Noel has heard of Susie's reputation as "Squad Seven's Saint", though she doesn't quite know why Susie is called that. Class G reaches the facility where Susie is being held captive, and Noel is sent in as part of the group that is to perform the rescue. They find Susie being held by the Rebels, though she is completely unharmed. She is a little squeamish, however, at seeing the number of Rebels Class G killed to get through to her.

Unfortunately, it turns out that Susie was bait for a trap set by the Rebels. Rebel reinforcements arrive and attack Class G. Though Noel gives Susie a pistol to defend herself, Susie ends up being frozen in terror when a Rebel attacks her. This ends with one of the cadets (you pick which one) being wounded while defending Susie. Noel calls her out on this, though Susie is too frightened to give a response.

As they're about to pull out to evacute Susie, Noel is tasked with watching her while the others clear the path ahead. Suddenly, a small group of rebels emerges from a nearby building that the class missed and is making a break for it.

Noel tells Susie that she can get them all in one hit, thanks to her marksmanship with a mortar and takes aim. But, Susie being the humanitarian that she is, runs up and trys to stop Noel by tipping her lance up at the last minute. Which makes the round fly high and strike an already severly battle damaged building and it starts to crumble.

Noel grabs susie and they run towards the opening of a basement of a nearby building and managed to make it in just before the tall building crashes into the ground and the exit becomes blocked by the massive amount of debris.

Noel then grabs Susie and shakes her as she screams at how stupid of a move that was just now and how Susie alomst killed them both. But Susie points out that the Rebels weren't moving to ambush the other Class G students from behind, but running towards the woods in a scattered formation, obviously retreating.

Noel was too worked up from the battle that she didn't notice that. But before anything else could be said, they hearing sounds of moaning. Noel draws her sidearm and heads further into the basement to locate the source and they come upon a makeshift Rebel field hospital, with four or five severely wounded Rebels laying about. There are no medics or medical supplies, and its clear that they were abandoned because of the severity of their wounds and the Rebels quick withdrawal.

Noel wants to shoot them, to end their suffering. But again Susie stops her and pleads to Noel that they have to help them. Noel refuses, saying that they're rebels and she won't help those who are trying to destroy Gallia. And after some arguing, Noel gets frustrated and opts to search for another way out, leaving susie behind for a moment.

But after some searching, there is no other way out. And all they can do is wait and hope someone finds them. She gets the surprise of her life when she returns to find Susie, tending to the Rebels to the best of her ability. She only manages to save two, the other two or three are too far gone. But she stays next to them, talks to them or even sings to them as they pass away, one by one.

Noel can't believe that Susie would so willingly help and comfort those who kidnapped her and threatened to kill her. What surprises her is that once they other two rebels are stabilized and fall asleep, Susie breaks down and cries over how she wasn't able to save them all...

Nichol+Franca

The Feast of all spirits is coming up, and after all the months that have passed since school started and after he's confessed who his love interest is to Avan, Nichol has finally decided that this, the feast, is the perfect time to finally tell Franca how he feels.

With this in mind, he's spent the last few days writing, re-writing and editing the love letter, which includes a lovely poem. Now, on the day of the festival, Nichol is going off to find Franca. After a short search, he spots her, talking to some girls from class G. He's so flustered that as he rushes over to her, he bumps into a group of Class A cadets.Afterwards, they all tell him to 'watch where he's going', and one of the Class A girls happens to pick up the letter, unfolds it and reads it.

But, after a quick read through, she can't believe what its contains. She then repeats the whole love confession out loud, so that everyone, including Franca can hear. Everyone in the area is either shocked, thinks its funny or wrong and laughs out loud.

Franca is so mad, she stomps over to Nichol and picks him up off the ground and scolds him, asking him whats wrong with his head! Nichol apologizes, but tells Franca that he loves her just the same. Franca slaps him, as what he just said causes more laughter or gasps from everyone crowded around them.

Nichol turns to her, teary eyed and screams that it's ok for him to love her, because they aren't related by blood or something to that sort to get his point through. Franca is shocked to hear this, and doesn't believe it at first. But, before she can say anything...

The Class A 'Jerks' then proceeds to tease the two bickering siblings with the classic, "Franca and Nichol sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n" Then gets punched out by Franca as she retorts with a "Learn some respect" or one of her classic lines.

But in striking not only the class A girl, but Nichol repeatedly, has caught the attention of Professor Brixy. And it's against school policy to perform any acts of violence within the academy grounds. And it doesn't matter whether or not it was brought on by the Class A's teasing. So, for the rest of the day, Franca is told to report to solitary confinement in the old building holding cells.

Now, Franca's furious that not only has she been publicly humiliated by her brother, got into a scrap with the class A students, but now she's forced to spend the one day of the year thats most important to gallians, locked in a cell. She tells Nichol that she 'won't forget this' or that she'll never forgive him, something to that sort.

Nichol also goes into hiding, somewhere on the academy grounds, possibly the roof and thinks about what he's done. That's when the GRA invades by way of blimp, as in the game. Nichol has the worst possible spot, on the roof, and is nearly crushed by the falling bell tower, but also gets knocked out in the process.

When he comes to and from his high observation point, he spots a squad of rebel commandos is heading for the old building, where his sister and the woman he loves, is imprisoned. So he sets off to go rescue her.

Coleen+Morris

Coleen and Morris have just become a couple. But Coleens parent's are coming in for a surprise visit, so soon after her daughter has just taken a new boyfriend. It's at this time that Coleen admits to Morris that she's never had a boyfriend, as to the strict restrictions of her parents. They never believed anyone to be good enough for their daugther.

The meeting between parents and boyfriend goes very badly, and Morris ends up running away in shame after the parents voice their disapproval. Before Coleen can even begin to argue, the students of Class G and the academy are summoned for a mission. Coleen takes off, relieved she doesn't have to argue or fight with her parents for the time being.

After the students finish their mission in the Diebal mountains *The cold, wintery missions of VC2* Coleen sets out to find Morris, and confronts him for his previous 'cowardly' actions. Morris ends up admitting that he thinks that he isn't 'man' enough or qualified enough to be her boyfriend after what he heard her parents say about him. And tries to run off, once more.

But Coleen chases him and confronts him once more, but it's at this time the two realize how far from the village and the squad that they have run. But before they have a chance to react, the rebels attack once again. The two end up seperated, alone and with forced to work together to survive out in the harsh, cold climate and make it back to the squad alive... but, certain problems arise and overtake them.

I personally say the Coleen/Morris one. Definitely has the most fluff potential.

I've had another idea for a oneshot that could also have some fluff to it, starring Melissa.

This would be shorter than your previous ones, Snowman, and wouldn't really have any action to it, but I'm sure it'd be cute nonetheless. Beware of late-game spoilers!

Spoiler for Melissa:

Shortly after the Lanseal invasion by the GRA, Zeri is still mourning over Juliana's death, causing him to neglect his studies and training. Melissa, who observes Zeri's behavior, is deeply troubled by this, and this causes her at one point to inadvertently reveal herself 'stalking' Zeri, which he calls her out on. While Melissa stammers in trying to explain herself, Zeri decides to confide in Melissa about how he felt for Juliana. The things Zeri says about his affections for Juliana deeply hurt Melissa, but she doesn't let Zeri know this, despite being jealous. After a short while, Zeri leaves. Melissa decides to try and make Zeri forget about Juliana out of jealousy.

Her attempts, obviously, fail. After a short while, however, Avan confronts Melissa about this, noticing her being more forward in her advances on Zeri, especially after one case where she tries to get him drunk (and ends up getting herself plastered). Melissa accidentally admits to Avan what she's trying to do, but when Avan tells her to stop, she confesses how much she loves Zeri. To both Avan's and Melissa's surprise, however, Zeri hears this. He tells Melissa that, while he's touched by the gesture, he can't return the sentiment. Melissa takes this drastically the wrong way, however, thinking that Zeri hates her (Zeri doesn't really pick his words that well), and runs away into the forest outside Lanseal. Zeri chases after her, but loses her in the woods.

In the forest, Zeri shouts out to Melissa that he's sorry he hurt her, and tries to apologize. Melissa, however, is in a turbulent mental and emotional state, and emerges from hiding with a gun drawn. She's under the twisted idea that if she can't have Zeri, no one can, but Zeri disarms her, and then even defuses her mental state by kissing her. Zeri then manages to calm Melissa down, and lets her off gently, saying he appreciates her company, but wants to just remain as friends and comrades. The two return to Lanseal shortly afterward.

Melissa, however, still clings to hope that she might be able to get Zeri to love her, and continues her stalking ways.

Something of that sort would be pretty fluffy, IMO.

^Haha, that sounds pretty funny and relatively easy to write compared to the magari fanfic. But it does have some fluff potential. And I think there's going to need to be alot of that to... 'soften' the blow of one of the fanfics I have in mind. I realized they all have happy endings... but what if one doesn't?

So maybe I'll do that one along with the Coleen one, both of these are pretty short stories. So maybe I'll do Fluff, Tear jerker, then fluff again :P

Sounds good. One that has an unhappy ending would really be healthy for the flow of things, and would remind us indeed that the cadets are in a war.

Well I decided that I've already had, funny, serious, and all the other stuff for my thread. So I'll do the Chloe one first, before the Coleen+Morris one and the others I had in mind.

Chloe Blixen

Spoiler for Chloe fanfic preview #1:

The sounds of gunfire and battle that once echoed across the mountains had long since stopped, but the smell of gunpowder, burning smoke and blood and death still lingered in the cold mountain air. These were all from a Darcsen purge that had been commenced on the mountain village of Highever. A small Darcsen settlement high up in the Diebal mountain region of Gallia. Sadly, much of the village and nearly half of the Darcsen residents had been wiped out in this purge.

A fierce snowstorm had slowed Class G’s progress up the mountain when they were summoned to stop the attack. Their delay had cost the village and the villagers dearly. The sound of mourning and grief now echoed across the mountains as the villagers cried and wailed in despair after they had lost so much.

As some of the Class G cadets looked on sadly, Chloe had her eyes closed and was uncomfortably adjusting her dark glasses multiple times. She had heard these same sounds countless times from the last war, when she was forced by the regular army to paint pictures of such destruction, to be used as propaganda to sow hatred against the Imperials and to sell war bonds. Now, Chloe was once again hearing these same horrible sounds that she had hoped she’d never have to hear again.

“Well, battles over.” Chloe said nonchalantly, “Shall we head back soon? I’m getting kind of cold here.”

Nearby, Cosette was helping an Elderly woman to find a medic, but she had heard Chloe’s seemingly uncaring attitude about the horrible atrocities that had been committed against these poor people.

She left the woman’s side and stomped towards Chloe, who simply held her ground, “What the hell is wrong with you?” Cosette demanded, “Look at these poor people! Look at what has been done to them! How can you be so cold and uncaring at a time like this?”

Chloe just shrugged as she pushed her glasses up and down a few times, “This is war. This is what happens in war.” Chloe simply stated, “Get used to it, or quit the academy. Otherwise, you’ll become too emotionally involved in other peoples plights and eventually break down… You seem pretty close to that point already.”

Cosette looked down at the ground and shook her head with her mouth agape at Chloe’s cold heartedness. “You’re unbelievable…”

“Whatever.” Chloe retorted, “I’m gonna jet. Call me when we’re ready to leave.” Chloe then turned and began to walk away from Cosette and headed for the outskirts of the village.

“What a bitch…” Cosette then turned back to the elderly woman and continued to lead her by the arm towards the nearby medical station.

A short while later, Chloe sat down on a large rock, which overlooked the mountain valley below and turned her back to the burning village. Thankfully, from this position, the sounds of loss and despair couldn’t be heard quite so clearly. The horrible smells were being blown away by the cold wind that whipped across Chloe’s face. Chloe took her dark glasses off and rubbed her eyes as she lowered her head. Then, flashes of burned cities, piles of Gallian civilian corpses, destroyed tanks and dead Imperial soldiers appeared before her eyes. The sounds of hundreds of people crying, screaming and wailing all at once, rang deep within her ears. She quickly gave her head a shake and the images disappeared and the sound of the blowing wind returned.

“Even after all this time…” Chloe said in frustration as she put her glasses back on. She then rested her chin in her hand as she grumbled. She wanted to be away from this place and these sounds that brought back memories she once tried so hard to bury in the back of her mind.

Then, out of the corner of her eye, her keen eyes detected some movement. She quickly placed her hand against her sidearm pouch and turned her head. A small head wrapped in a Darcsen patterned hood then ducked back behind a nearby rock.

Chloe slowly removed her hand from her sidearm pouch and grumbled, though it wasn’t a Rebel, it was the next worst thing, a child. Chloe didn’t like children. They were loud, they were annoying and they always distracted her while she was painting, sometimes they even stole some of her brushes or paints when she wasn’t looking.

“No use hiding. I already saw you.” Chloe called out.

Slowly, the young Darcsen child began to stand and show herself. She had a backpack strapped onto her back, and wore a simple green dress, a pair of brown furry boots and a Darcsen cloak with the hood up. She was hugging a large book or notepad of some sort against her chest. She made her way around the rock and cautiously approached Chloe.

As she got closed Chloe held her forehead and rubbed it. She was tired and definitely not in the mood to deal with a child. “Beat it, kid. I’ve got a headache and don’t have the time or the patience to--”

However, once she looked up, she saw the small child holding out the notepad to her. It was opened up and there was pretty shocking picture drawn onto the large white page. Chloe snatched the book away from the child and looked at it.

The picture was of herself, or rather just the top half of her body which was sticking out of the window of one of the two storey buildings in the village. She had her sniper rifle up to her shoulder and was looking through the scope. On the ground below, there was a dead Rebel with a lance, and a Rebel shock trooper with a fresh bullet hole pinged into his helmet. The path of the bullet was visibly drawn and led all the way back to the barrel of Chloe’s sniper rifle.

Chloe looked back up at the child, shocked by what she had drawn. The child on the other hand had her hands behind her back and looked as if she were waiting for Chloe’s response or approval of her drawing.

Chloe ,however, reached out and took the child by the shoulder and pulled her forward. With her other hand, she took off her glasses and looked into the child’s eyes, “What is this? Why would you draw something as horrible and ghastly such as this at your age?” Chloe demanded. Though the child didn’t answer, her dark-blue eyes simply looked off to the side, “You’re a kid! Kids don’t draw things like this!”

Now the child moaned in discomfort, though Chloe didn’t notice that she was actually squeezing the child’s shoulder, and continued to tighten as she went on, “Well? Aren’t you going to answer me?”

The sound of a picture being snapped made Chloe turn her head, “Still hate children, Chloe?” a girl holding a camera up to her face asked, “Nice to see that some things never change.”

Chloe released her grip from the Darcsen child and groaned, “Not you again…”

The girl lowered the camera and chuckled, “Oh, still got that chip on your shoulder, huh Chloe.” She was about Chloe’s age, had a blue baseball cap on her head, with a long brown ponytail sticking out of the back of the fastener. Strapped around her neck were two cameras, on with a long lens, one without. She wore a dark blue long-sleeved shirt with a black vest. There were over half a dozen pockets, pouches and straps that held tubes on her vest. Theses were filled with rolls of film, different sized lenses, a flash bulb and other photographers supplies and tools.

“What do you want, Cassandra?” Chloe asked as she stood up from her seating position and slung her sniper rifle over her shoulder.

“Oh, nothing really.” Cassandra said as she began to follow Chloe back to the village, the small Darcsen child tailed them. “I just heard a rumour that Chloe Blixen, Gallia’s famous war painter, had taken up a fighting position amongst the Lanseal academy forces. Inside were numerous pencils, pencil crayons, markers, crayons, rulers and other artists supplies. She then took out some black pencils and flipped to a new sheet of paper in her large notebook. She then began to sketch something at a pretty impressive speed.

“Hey! You!” Chloe started, But Cassandra raised her hand in front of Chloe’s face.

“Oh, leave her alone, Chloe.” Cassandra said with a chuckle, “Try to pay attention to your old friend here.”

Chloe turned back to Cassandra, “Fine. But let me ask you something. Did you take my picture earlier?”

Cassandra grinned and held her hands behind her back in an innocent manner, “Maybe…”

“Why?”

Cassandra held up her camera and tapped it with her finger, “Oh you know the saying… ‘A picture, is worth a thousand words.’ Or in this case, a thousand ducats, Hehe.” Cassandra laughed, “And I think an artist turned soldier is a wonderful moment to capture on film.”

“I don’t believe I gave you any sort of permission to take my photo in the first place, Cassandra!” Chloe said as she pressed her finger into Cassandra’s chest.

Cassandra held up her hands and smiled while saying, “Oh, don’t worry, Chloe. I don’t think the picture’s going to turn out anyway. It was too windy, too snowy where we were. Either way, I thought that we were friends. so I just assumed that you’d be alright with it.”

“You’re still working with the propaganda department of the army!?” Chloe asked in bewilderment, “Unbelievable.”

“Well, sort of… I’m freelance now. I simply sell to whoever pays the most. Whether it be the Army, the local newspaper, magazines, doesn’t matter to me.” Cassandra explained.

“You were right… some things never change, Cassandra.”

“Listen, a picture such as your in uniform is going to be worth a lot. There are a lot of people who still remember you for the amazing artist you used to be. I’ll even split the payment with you, fifty-fifty, for an old friend.”

“You didn’t come here just to see me, did you?” Chloe asked with a raised eyebrow, her gaze then turned to the burning village, “You came here to take pictures of the devastation of this war against the Darcsen people, didn’t you!!”

“Don’t get self-righteous with me, Chloe Blixen. I’m simply doing my part in this war, just like we used to do together in the last war. And you seem to forget that I know you. You signed on at the start of the war, just like me and you even accepted payment for your work, just like I did.”

Just then, Avan came running towards the two arguing girls, “Yo! Chloe! We’re almost finished here and have orders to return back to the academy. Be ready to move out within the next half hour, got it?”

“Yeah. Sure.” Chloe said, she then shifted uncomfortably as Avan remained and looked over at Cassandra.

“Who’s your friend?” Avan asked with a grin.

“She’s--”

“I’m Cassandra Lopez. Pleased to make your acquaintance, mister…?”

“Oh, Avan Hardin’s the name! Don’t forget it!”

Cassandra let out a delighted squeal, “Oh, I’ve heard all about you. Please, sir, you must allow me to take your picture!” Cassandra asked as she raised her camera up to her eye.

Avan released another signature chuckle, “Sure, anytime!” He then held his hand against his hips and pumped out his chest in a ‘super hero’ pose. Chloe rolled her eyes in disgust, but then Avan asked, “What about Chloe? Want her in the shot too?”

Cassandra rubbed her chin, then a gleam sparkled in her eye. Right away, Chloe knew all that Cassandra was thinking about was money and how much a picture of her and the Class chair would fetch.

Chloe quickly sidestepped away, “No. You go ahead.”

A disappointed frown appeared on Cassandra’s face, so obvious that Avan took notice. “Oh, don’t be camera shy, Chloe. Come on, it’ll be fun!” Avan said as he reached over and put his arm around Chloe and tried to pull her up next to him.

“I said NO!” Chloe exclaimed, and she jabbed her elbow into Avans side and backed away.

Cassandra lowered her camera and laughed, “Same old, Chloe. She never did like being on the other end of a camera lens or a painting done by someone other than herself.”

Avan rubbed his side, “Oh? You two must be pretty good friends if you know her that well.”

“Indeed,” said Cassandra, “We were paired up together in the last war, in the propaganda department. I’d snap my photos, she’d paint her paintings. Sometimes I’d even take photos and she’d enlarge them and add so much more colour and detail than a regular black and white photo could ever show!”

“Oh… I see… I’m sorry to hear that,” said Avan downheartedly.

“Hmm? Hear what?” Cassandra asked as she tilted her head.

“It must have been hard… being forced to show the harsh realities of war to people all over Gallia through film, photo and paintings like Chloe had to endure… poor girl.” said Avan.

While Avan had his head hung low, Cassandra shifted her eyes over to Chloe who was rubbing the back of her neck while looking away. “Yeah… something like that…” Cassandra said with a sly smile.

Just then, “Hey! Avan! We need you over here!” Zeri called out from the nearby village center.

“Aw, shucks, just when I got to meet such a beautiful woman…” Avan said softy.

“There’s always next time, tiger!” Cassandra said as she winked at Avan.

“Hahaha! Yeah, there is!” Avan said, he then turned to Chloe, “Well, best get ready, Chloe. We’ll be on the move soon.” He then turned back to Cassandra, “It was a pleasure to meet you, Cassandra!”

Cassandra bowed her head slightly and held onto the brow of her cap, “The pleasure was all mine, Avan.”

Avan then jogged back to Zeri and left the two ‘friends’ to their conversation.

“So… care to explain?” Cassandra asked with a raised eyebrow.

“About what?” Chloe asked as she fidgeted uncomfortably.

“You lied to the boy, or rather, your own class leader, didn’t you?” Cassandra asked with a smile.

“NO!” Chloe exclaimed, “It’s not like that… not really…”

Cassandra scratch the tip of her chin and looked as if she were trying to recall something, “Hmmm… seems to me that I remember you signing up out of your own free will. And I should know, I signed up as well and we got paired together, right?”

“But I had no idea what I was signing up for!” Chloe shot back, “I didn’t know that they were going to take us to the goriest, bloodiest, most war torn towns and cities during the war!

Cassandra just shrugged, “I don’t seem to recall you turning down any of the pay checks that you got for all your paintings.”

“I had family to take care of! What else was I supposed to do?” Chloe retorted, “And for the record, I was one hundred percent honest when I told Avan that I wanted out of all that horrible stuff, and that I was forced to continue.”

“Yeah, well… you did sign a one year contract, as I remember it. There’s no getting out of that.”

“Ok, so maybe I wasn’t totally honest… But I did want out, unlike you, Cassandra!”

“Hey! I did exactly what I signed up for, and I never once whined or complained! We both did what needed to be done, and I have no regrets. The pay wasn’t too bad either.”

Chloe just shook her head, “Just go… I don’t wanna talk to you anymore.”

“Fine.” Cassandra said, “But… about that picture?”

“Why should I?”

Cassandra smiled slyly, “Well… I wonder what the others in your class, along with your leader would think if I told them how you severely falsified your claim of how you were treated? You got yourself into it and the army only enforced the contract, which you signed!”

“You would do that… to an old friend?” Chloe asked

“Perhaps… I could be persuaded not to…”

Chloe thought hard for a few moments, then sighed in defeat, “Fine… I’ll let you take the picture.”

“Wonderful!” Cassandra squealed happily as she raised her large camera up to her eye and turned to focus wheel. “Now, strike a pose!”

Chloe held up her sniper rifle and held one pose, then another and another as Cassandra snapped away and Chloe changed positions with each take.

“Excellent! I’m willing to bet that all the pictures of this destroyed village will pale in comparison to a photo of Chloe Blixen as a soldier of Gallia!” Cassandra said as she lowered her camera, then her facial expression changed from overly ecstatic to a little more serious, “Tell you what, I’ll split the profits with you, thirty-seventy. It’s the least that I can do for an old friend.”

“No.”

“Oh come on, don’t be like that, Chloe.” said Cassandra, “You’re mother is still sick, right?”

Chloe was looking down at the snowy ground with her hands on her hips, she then nodded her head.

“I see… forty-sixty, then. I can afford it.”

“So long as we keep this to ourselves, Cassandra. I’ve said far too much to the others now to take it all back.”

“You have my word, old friend.” said Cassandra as she patted Chloe on the shoulder. “See you around.” Cassandra then headed back to the village to continue taking photos, like she used to for the propaganda efforts.

Well I decided that I've already had, funny, serious, and all the other stuff for my thread. So I'll do the Chloe one first, before the Coleen+Morris one and the others I had in mind.

The sounds of gunfire and battle that once echoed across the mountains had long since stopped, but the smell of gunpowder, burning smoke and blood and death still lingered in the cold mountain air. These were all from a Darcsen purge that had been commenced on the mountain village of Highever. A small Darcsen settlement high up in the Diebal mountain region of Gallia. Sadly, much of the village and nearly half of the Darcsen residents had been wiped out in this purge.

A fierce snowstorm had slowed Class G’s progress up the mountain when they were summoned to stop the attack. Their delay had cost the village and the villagers dearly. The sound of mourning and grief now echoed across the mountains as the villagers cried and wailed in despair after they had lost so much.

As some of the Class G cadets looked on sadly, Chloe had her eyes closed and was uncomfortably adjusting her dark glasses multiple times. She had heard these same sounds countless times from the last war, when she was forced by the regular army to paint pictures of such destruction, to be used as propaganda to sow hatred against the Imperials and to sell war bonds. Now, Chloe was once again hearing these same horrible sounds that she had hoped she’d never have to hear again.

“Well, battles over.” Chloe said nonchalantly, “Shall we head back soon? I’m getting kind of cold here.”

Nearby, Cosette was helping an Elderly woman to find a medic, but she had heard Chloe’s seemingly uncaring attitude about the horrible atrocities that had been committed against these poor people.

She left the woman’s side and stomped towards Chloe, who simply held her ground, “What the hell is wrong with you?” Cosette demanded, “Look at these poor people! Look at what has been done to them! How can you be so cold and uncaring at a time like this?”

Chloe just shrugged as she pushed her glasses up and down a few times, “This is war. This is what happens in war.” Chloe simply stated, “Get used to it, or quit the academy. Otherwise, you’ll become too emotionally involved in other peoples plights and eventually break down… You seem pretty close to that point already.”

Cosette looked down at the ground and shook her head with her mouth agape at Chloe’s cold heartedness. “You’re unbelievable…”

“Whatever.” Chloe retorted, “I’m gonna jet. Call me when we’re ready to leave.” Chloe then turned and began to walk away from Cosette and headed for the outskirts of the village.

“What a bitch…” Cosette then turned back to the elderly woman and continued to lead her by the arm towards the nearby medical station.

A short while later, Chloe sat down on a large rock, which overlooked the mountain valley below and turned her back to the burning village. Thankfully, from this position, the sounds of loss and despair couldn’t be heard quite so clearly. The horrible smells were being blown away by the cold wind that whipped across Chloe’s face. Chloe took her dark glasses off and rubbed her eyes as she lowered her head. Then, flashes of burned cities, piles of Gallian civilian corpses, destroyed tanks and dead Imperial soldiers appeared before her eyes. The sounds of hundreds of people crying, screaming and wailing all at once, rang deep within her ears. She quickly gave her head a shake and the images disappeared and the sound of the blowing wind returned.

“Even after all this time…” Chloe said in frustration as she put her glasses back on. She then rested her chin in her hand as she grumbled. She wanted to be away from this place and these sounds that brought back memories she once tried so hard to bury in the back of her mind.

Then, out of the corner of her eye, her keen eyes detected some movement. She quickly placed her hand against her sidearm pouch and turned her head. A small head wrapped in a Darcsen patterned hood then ducked back behind a nearby rock.

Chloe slowly removed her hand from her sidearm pouch and grumbled, though it wasn’t a Rebel, it was the next worst thing, a child. Chloe didn’t like children. They were loud, they were annoying and they always distracted her while she was painting, sometimes they even stole some of her brushes or paints when she wasn’t looking.

“No use hiding. I already saw you.” Chloe called out.

Slowly, the young Darcsen child began to stand and show herself. She had a backpack strapped onto her back, and wore a simple green dress, a pair of brown furry boots and a Darcsen cloak with the hood up. She was hugging a large book or notepad of some sort against her chest. She made her way around the rock and cautiously approached Chloe.

As she got closed Chloe held her forehead and rubbed it. She was tired and definitely not in the mood to deal with a child. “Beat it, kid. I’ve got a headache and don’t have the time or the patience to--”

However, once she looked up, she saw the small child holding out the notepad to her. It was opened up and there was pretty shocking picture drawn onto the large white page. Chloe snatched the book away from the child and looked at it.

The picture was of herself, or rather just the top half of her body which was sticking out of the window of one of the two storey buildings in the village. She had her sniper rifle up to her shoulder and was looking through the scope. On the ground below, there was a dead Rebel with a lance, and a Rebel shock trooper with a fresh bullet hole pinged into his helmet. The path of the bullet was visibly drawn and led all the way back to the barrel of Chloe’s sniper rifle.

Chloe looked back up at the child, shocked by what she had drawn. The child on the other hand had her hands behind her back and looked as if she were waiting for Chloe’s response or approval of her drawing.

Chloe ,however, reached out and took the child by the shoulder and pulled her forward. With her other hand, she took off her glasses and looked into the child’s eyes, “What is this? Why would you draw something as horrible and ghastly such as this at your age?” Chloe demanded. Though the child didn’t answer, her dark-blue eyes simply looked off to the side, “You’re a kid! Kids don’t draw things like this!”

Now the child moaned in discomfort, though Chloe didn’t notice that she was actually squeezing the child’s shoulder, and continued to tighten as she went on, “Well? Aren’t you going to answer me?”

The sound of a picture being snapped made Chloe turn her head, “Still hate children, Chloe?” a girl holding a camera up to her face asked, “Nice to see that some things never change.”

Chloe released her grip from the Darcsen child and groaned, “Not you again…”

The girl lowered the camera and chuckled, “Oh, still got that chip on your shoulder, huh Chloe.” She was about Chloe’s age, had a blue baseball cap on her head, with a long brown ponytail sticking out of the back of the fastener. Strapped around her neck were two cameras, on with a long lens, one without. She wore a dark blue long-sleeved shirt with a black vest. There were over half a dozen pockets, pouches and straps that held tubes on her vest. Theses were filled with rolls of film, different sized lenses, a flash bulb and other photographers supplies and tools.

“What do you want, Cassandra?” Chloe asked as she stood up from her seating position and slung her sniper rifle over her shoulder.

“Oh, nothing really.” Cassandra said as she began to follow Chloe back to the village, the small Darcsen child tailed them. “I just heard a rumour that Chloe Blixen, Gallia’s famous war painter, had taken up a fighting position amongst the Lanseal academy forces. And well… I just had to see this for myself.”

Spoiler for My thoughts:

Nice, nice. Cassandra's a great OC you've made. Reminds me of Aya Shameimaru from Touhou, a small bit (as in, the extortionist side of her).

One change I'd make, though: Cosette using such foul language was out of character for her, even when talking about Chloe's callousness. However, I think you could keep the profanity if someone else with Cosette were to say it, like Noel or Lotte. Cosette would have to keep to her cheery behavior.

Looking forward to more. Oh, and as for a title, how about "Portrait of Ruin"?
