[all]What is your favourite opening theme
Oh well see thread title, basicly mention your favourite Mobile Suit Gundam opening theme. Note it says opening themes so try to avoid mentioning ending themes or BGM used somewhere randomly in a show it self. We can have seperate threads for that
Futhermore there is a high chance that a person is going to say a song you hate or vice versa. Try not to flame or start a discussion out of it, no matter how much his tastes sucks For those who have no idea how a Gundam opening is called I created a small list, I copy and paste all the information from ANN if something is wrong or if I miss something please correct me, The list is in the spoiler tags: Spoiler:
First off I have to say I like them all all except for "Itsuka Sora ni Todoite" and "Ignited", which I don't like. Furthermore I can't judge "Century Color" as I haven't heard it yet. Same goes to all the SEED openings as I can't remember them. If I have to pick absolute favourites I have to say The Winner, Men of Destiny, Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete, Stand up to the Victory, Zeta - Toki wo Koete, Don't Stop! Carry On! and Turn A Turn. Tobe Gundam, Anime Ja Nai and Flying in the Sky are are songs I like but I'm afraid to admit it |

Listening to Tobe Gundam sets me in an old school mood where I have to start playing some UC Gundam games. It rocks!
But Ignited is really good. I like the pace it sets with the all the little scenes in Destiny's intro.

『水の星へ愛をこめて』 - "Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete" - This song is my most favorite song. I like Moriguchi Hiroko's singing, she has a good voice. She sung this when she was about 16, but she sounds so mature.
『刻をこえて』 - "Toki wo Koete" - Nice and upbeat. Zeta has some great OP themes. 『サイレント・ヴォイス』 - "Silent Voice" - I love this song. |

Arashi no Naka de Kagayaite (Shine in the Storm) is my opening. Go 08MS!!!
Zeta, Toki wo Koete - A quality song I didn't like until I started playing AEUG vs Titans. Mizu no Hoshi e ai wo komete, Don't Stop Carry On, Believe, Ai Senshi, Dream, and Resolution are some great Gundam songs |

"Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete", "Silent Voice", "Man of Destiny", "Dreams" and "Century Color" for me... The SEED OPs are good too. I have to say all of them brings back "fond memories" for me so I like them all, though I generally like the Gundam EDs better

Men of Destiny, Dreams, and all of the Gundam Seed and Destiny OPs. Absolute favorite at the moment is Ignited but think it's just because it's the most recent. When Moment came out I liked it more than Invoke since it was newer but now I like Invoke better so think I'm always going to be biased towards whatever is most recent.
Edit: Arashi no Naka de Kagayaite (Shine in the Storm) is another good one, I particularly loved the animation in that one because it painted this wierd romanticized view of war, least that's the way I saw it. |

I can see time itself!

Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete, Silent Voice, Men of Destiny, Don't stop! Carry On, Turn A Turn and Century Colour are my non-SEED favourites. They're all really hard to list since all of them are pretty good and the four SEED ops and Ignited easily make the list alongside the ones I've mentioned. Gundam just has great music, it's that simple

I'll pick both of Gundam X's.Just soemthing upbeat about both of them.
Since this thread is about Gundam Song, I'll like to point out that Eternal Wind of F91 was, and still is, the only Gundam Song to win an award at Japan's annual Red And White Song Competition. And now the OP to Gundam F91 TV series :- http://web.archive.org/web/200308120...5469/f91tv.swf Last edited by MakubeX2; 2004-11-22 at 20:48. |
