That was a very nice finale despite the lack of closure (which was to be expected).

Kyohei confessed his feelings to Hibino in the worst way possible but she took it pretty well, although she did warn him never to think of her as his possession again. That girl's got spunk, I appreciate that. Despite those distracting torpedo tits and her lack of "power" compared to the other characters in the story, she turned out to be a great heroine. I didn't think I'd end up liking her so much to be honest. She's still not my favorite of the cast though, but that's because the other girls that just that awesome.

I wish they had shown Utao's reaction to Kyohei and Hibino going out. Tss, to think she ruled her out as a rival a few episodes ago... that was a fatal mistake.

The dialogue between Aki and Kyohei was very insightful. By far the best scene of the episode for me. The two of them finally remembered just how close they used to be. I'm sure they could still repair their friendship even after all that's happened; the old Aki is still there, as this episode proved.

Kyohei has finally stopped hesitating and will most likely resume his role as a seki. It'll be cruel to take Kukuri away from Utao at this point though, but if that badass preview is any indication, that's exactly what's going to happen :/

"Hibino's mine" Kyouhei sure took the best fucking time to wake up.
Glad to see Hibino responding to his feelings with that kiss. They would've been more intimate i guess if they didn't keep getting disturbed by someone
Nice to see Aki and Kyouhei still having that special bond and can probably rebuild the trust they shared as kids once again in the future.
The preview pretty much confirming a second season with Kyouhei being badass as Kukuri's seki and taking on what looked like the evil Amaterasu.
Enjoyed this series a lot and hoping more of it comes in the near future

All we know is that shit hits the fan when they get back with kukuri for a fix to the village. But still its better to read all dialogues than just summary and raws.

This was a very good serie BUT without a sequel is a delusional. The tv serie cover 4 tonkobon if i'm not mistaken over 9 released and the best is yet to start, so a second season is possible and mandatory because there is enought material.
Ended the serie with an inconcludent resolution of the events is a mistake and a waste, like was a big waste Deadman Wonderland.

5/10 if the serie stop here, 7/10 if continue.

Kukuri's out of control. Kuga seriously injured, but ended up being ok. The flashback to Aki, Kuga & sensei massacre again..
Well, at least he & Hibino are kinda together now. Aki made an appearance.
Last episode was much better than this one.. final episode was nothing special.

There is always a trade off between conclusion and faithful adaptation. I mostly prefer the latter except in very few cases =).

Going to miss this series.

they weren't.

Well that's one way to close it. Though think that's the only kind of ending you give if you actually will make a sequel. Can't just show off an armless Kukuri with Kyouhei controlling it going up against taht monster and just end it there .

At least plenty happened. Mahiru's kakashi is just completely blown to bits. The only way she's fighting again is they can build a new one from scratch. Makes you really wonder what's going to happen from here on. Kirio is hanging out with the cop, Kuuko has a new hostage , and Kukuri isn't moving at all.

Was interesting to see though how Utao took control of Kukuri at that critical moment. Now seems like Kyouhei is starting to take it back.

Good as well to see Aki and Kyouhei have that little moment of friendship. Who knows where things will go from here on, but not like either have forgotten those good times either. Of course Aki has a point after all that's happened can he really just stop in place now? Who is going to say "well at least you only killed so many people?"

Spoiler for Episode 13 - VERY LONG:

Anyone expecting some form of closure will be disappointed - but not me. As I said before this episode, Kamisama Dolls in my anime of Summer 2011 - and Episode 13 lived up to my expectations.

The opening scenes proved just how powerful Kukuri is (berserk or not, that was Kyohei's doing - wow, that pairing is one of the strongest, if not the strongest kakashi-seki partnership) - Magatsuhi never stood a chance.

Following on from that, we have concrete proof as to the woman in Kyohei's heart - and possibly the funniest moment of the whole episode. What is it with the most embarrassing things being blurted out following a dream - and the subject of that embarrassing thing being in the room? Golden. (Though honestly, Utao trying to split Kyohei and Shiba (yes, I'm calling her Shiba - deal with it ) up grated somewhat with me - sorry, we know you love him Utao, but if you can't tell where your brothers heart lies, you're either in denial or desperate).

Well, at least Kyohei was able to confess...albeit in the most awkward way possible. Go Kyohei!

On the plus side, at least we know that said feelings are not unrequited - and I'm more than pleased with how Shiba took it (no real gushing to speak of, plus the added bonus of pointing out where she stands - and I totally agree with everything that came out of her mouth. Women are not the possessions of man - no matter how much some men seem to think they are. Makes a change from a woman throwing themselves at a protagonist most of the time (Baka to test + most eroge VN adaptations, I'm looking at you)).

Just a quick note on this before I go on - if you need any more ammo to realise this burgeoning relationship is gathering momentum, listen to Shiba before she and Kyohei are disturbed by (I presume) Moyako - prior to the hospital scenes, she always called him Kuga-kun. Following their rooftop 'shenanigans', she then called him Kyohei (obvious, I know, seeing as how they were holding hands in the hospital and pretty much having a full-on heart to heart prior to being disturbed - but it felt worthy of note). Granted, there is still a long way to go before they're comfortable in that kind of relationship, it seems (plus a certain young lady with a brother complex + Mahiru (though she may have given up after the rooftop scenes)).

Anyway...if one scene tells you just how much development has been made in regards to Aki, it's his moment with Kyohei - hark back to nearly 3 months when this all began. Aki was a stark raving lunatic who wanted nothing more than murder countless people - and to remind Kyohei of the life he once lived (something we all know Kyohei never wanted at first).

Back to the present, and these two people, who were at loggerheads for much of the opening episodes (and even beyond that), were reminiscing about happy times back in the village and giggling away as though those times were merely moments ago - Aki and Kyohei's relationship has come so far in 13 episodes, and it's delightful to see.

Honestly, it's refreshing to see that the antagonists here are more than the bog standard evil and have some real depth to them. Yes, there are occasions when people like Mahiru and Aki do act like antagonists, but such characters blur the line between them being allies and enemies to Kyohei.

Now finally - the big one. Kyohei has accepted who he is, and returns to being a Seki. But three questions remain for me in the series.

1. The scenes during the credit roll - I certainly don't recognise them, so, like The World God Only Knows II did in it's ending scenes, are the animators foreshadowing future events?
2. Again with future events, who was the woman riding the silver kakashi right at the end?
3. Why did Kukuri appear to have no arms in the final scene of this series?

All in all, this has been a wonderful ride and I would certainly like to spend more time in the world with Kyohei, Shiba, Utao and the rest of the cast in a Season 2 (I will actually be disappointed if there isn't one).

By the way, anyone complaining that the anime was inconclusive - think about the alternative. Anime-only endings are generally tacked on right at the end and suffer a massive dip in quality (Claymore, Negima, Elfen Lied)...who would seriously want that?

Besides, Kamisama Dolls deserves far more than 13 episodes given the level of quality we've seen - and given this ending to the series, that is now possible (looking at the amount of effort they've put in those extra add-ons, such as the DVD/BD extras and the extra websites for Shiba, Utao, Mahiru etc., I'd be extremely surprised (and disappointed) if there wasn't a second season).

Well, that's the end.

And you know, the fact it ended in a inconclusive way is beyond expected and preferred. After all, the manga hasn't ended yet.
And that is so much better than the staff making an original ending.
Rather, by doing it this way, it makes you want to see the continuation.
And do you? Then go buy the manga! Support!
There isn't enough material for a second season, right now... For OVA, maybe.

And besides, that feeling over this inconclusive end? It was sung at you every episode (except one).

It was a great adaption. Definitely the best anime that started this season and the only anime I looked forward to every week over every other anime airing this season.
I actually started reading after the anime started, because it was interesting, and it turned out to be a very interesting manga. I'm glad too, since I was running out of stuff to read.

A faithful adaption, the staff did a great job. They cut out some parts to speed up the story, but what they cut generally were not important to the main story.
As a fan of the manga, I am definitely happy.
The production value was good, the OP and ED were great, Ishikawa's songs are awesome, and the voice actors were satisfactory too.
To be honest, I don't really like Okamoto's "screams". They always suddenly go crazy hoarse and always seem to be the same...
For once, Hanazawa did a good job.
It is a shame Koushiro's voice actor doesn't do voice acting as his main job. He as a great voice. And you know, "Masa-san~!"

Actually, from what I've been told, Sacred Seven and Kamisama Dolls are on some schedule (don't know exactly what) where the numbers for the sells won't appear for a few more days.
