Animation Quality

Has anyone else noticed that the quality of animation has gone up quite a lot recently.

I've been watching some of the older episodes and it looks much better now. Even the sannin arc looks distinctly worse than the episodes of today.

Agree? Disagree?

Hmm, well. Everything just checks out the same even when I'm watching it on my CDs. So I'd have to disagree. Though, it could be that your video quality is not up to par when you don't have that Divx video enhancer to play your anime videos ^_^.

Agree.

For the most part in any case. The company which is releasing Naruto seems to be making quite a hefty profit from the show, manga, and merchandise, so I'd like to assume this is where they're getting the funding to produce much better animation.

Here's some pics that I took of using my Windows Media. So, what do you think, are they the same, different?

Spoiler:

I think ep 30 and 71 are perfect.
Other episodes are not as good as these.

I think that you are looking into the recording quality not the anime, the anime has not changed quality at all, if something has changed it is that better divx codecs has been released giving us better playback quality.

All of you guys are mistaken. The guy in the first post is trying to say that the animator's are drawing the current arc much more better then have been drawing recent episodes (like the sannin arc, which was drawn terribly IMHO). He isn't talking about the quality in which the series is being recorded.

It's just the way the characters are drawn(may be technically different than animation quality, I'm not sure).

If you see Shikamaru now vs Shikamaru in the first exam test. You'll notice quite the difference.

Naruto now vs Naruto in the sannin arc.

Sasuke now vs Sasuke fighting Oro.

All the characters looked kind of weird, inconsistant and undetailed in the past. Now they look great.

I've been watching a lot of episodes from before and there IS a huge difference.

Sasuke looked better when fighting Orochimaru, IMO. It just depends on the animation team; from what I understand there are a whole bunch of animation teams in charge of Naruto.

That's true. Because animation quality, in my opinion. Doesn't really bother me much. Sure, that the video quality of the Divx video enhancer is really nice in all. But it's the actual story that gets my attention.

As I'm more interested in Naruto's adventures .

I second that post. I didn't notice any difference in the animation from the first episode on.

Can't really agree...
The sannin arc was not very well drawn but I don't think it's better now.
I think it sucks right now (thus, not the the latest one hour special) That one was pretty nice.
But these days, the characters looks different in every freakin' scene IMO.
the zabuza & haku arc was drawn best imo.

There's a definite difference in quality between some Naruto episodes. Lately it has been better than average, probably because this is an important arc. The SasuOro fight episode (30) has been the best animated so far, IMO.

Well, you can look at how the episode's are being drawn . . . The oro / Saru fight wasn't drawn too well at all.

Then you can look at the fluidity (animation) - where the sasuke vs. oro fight was perfect, even if it wasn't drawn very well.

These last episodes have been drawn well, and they've been well animated.. so, it's cake in my book (Haku vs. kyuubi Naruto and Lee vs. Gaara / Sasuke vs. Gaara are the best in my book)

I think it does have to do with what importance the story is at in the episode but also has to do with the amount of action and movement o.o...
I mean some episodes like the ending of the recent filler and the hokage level fight weren't normal...
