I suppose the part where the enemy stairs at him could have been just a retcon of reality though.

I would have though that this was something that would be really damn obvious, especially since it's before the credits where you'd expect the episode establisher/hook to be, but I guess not. In any case this does raise a good point, how did he escape that scenario and why? I have little doubt that'll be elaborated on moving forward and that we'll come back to that Day The Angel Fell event more than a few times. |

Meaning THAT wasn't real. He didn't survive the UE because that part of the dream never actually happened. (why must you make it so hard to explain)

Well to be fair it could be the trauma regarding the UE playing tricks in his head and making the UE even more intimidating inside his own mind, but until we actually find out the true history of what happened during that arc that's still just pure speculation. It does make one wonder what was really supposed to have happened then and why though.

Since it's presented as a dream, and not a regular memory/flashback, it doesn't matter how Flit survive his first encounter with the UE. It could just be a fictional part of the dream or it could be a real memory that may or may not be explained later in the series.

With AGE, the dream sequence and the news that Flit watched in the morning accomplished pretty much the same thing that an opening narration for previous series would. |

Regarding Flit surviving, I reckon 0 Gundam came just in time to shoot a pink beam and made Flit into a Gundam fanboy who obsesses on it and want to build it........
Okay, just kidding but I reckon the scene would likely be extended later to show how he survived. I won't be surprised if it came up in the next episode, wasn't there one in the trailer where we were shown about a peace treaty being signed in the past and all. They may have wanted to amp the focus on Flit first by showing his mother dying as the starting scene.
