PC - Starcraft. Though I haven't completed it yet...
XBOX - Star Wars KOTOR. My favorite RPG. GBA - So far Advanced Wars 2. But I need to play a lot more GBA games even though it's my favorite system. PS2 - Disgaea and Metal Gear Solid 2 are great. Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution is also a great game and the best fighitng game. But really there isn't 1 game to rule them all for this system... |

Best ever game imo, I have ever played: Fallout 2. I can't remember the last time I've ever had fun repeating the same aspects of the game.
In Catagory: PC: Fallout 2 (Of course) SEGA Genesis: A tie between Phantasy 4, Sonic 2 Streets of Rage 3, General Chaos, Mutant League Hockey and Football SEGA CD: A tie with Lunar:SS/EB, Double Switch, Night Trap, Masked Rider, and Eternal Champions. SNES: A tie Super Mario All Stars, Chrono Trigger, Zelda: Link to the past, Earthbound and 7th Saga. PSX: This was a really hard one... tie between Tekken 1-3, Resident Evil, Lunar remakes, MGS, FFT, Warhawk, Suikoden 1-2 and Tobal No.2 PS2: Tie with FFX, Disgaea, Kingdom Hearts, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Mark of Creed, and Soul Calibur 2. DC:Jet Grind, Soul Calibur, Shenmue and Ikaruga GBA: Kingdom Hearts: Chains of Memories. XBOX: Burnout 3, and Prince of Persia 2: Warrior Within. Hard for me to pick absolute favorites, as you can see. |

NES - Super Mario 3. Classic. The most fun Mario game for me.
Gameboy - Tetris. Yup, the one and only defining game to rule all portables. Hours upon hours wasted and still as addictive as ever. SNES - Final Fantasy III (US) / VI (JP). Chrono Trigger was excellent but for me FFVI took the cake, simply because the gameplay is so fun, and the story so epic. FFVI is my all-time favorite of the FF series. PS1 - Dance Dance Revolution. Sorry, but I'm a DDR junkie. Besides that, I think Final Fantasy VII is one of the main reasons why I bought a PS in the first place, and I'm sure others can relate to that as well. PC - Quake. Half-Life may have ruled but really Quake is one of the originators of all the innovations FPS gaming could ever make. It has one of the first fully 3D FPS engines, plus even up to today the engine is still being used in modern games. Plus all the mods ensure endless fun, too.

Fallout 2 is a vast improvement from the first game, which is why I loved FO2 since its actually a worthy sequel. But FO2 is actually one of those few games thats actually meant to be fun. I know in general all games are suppose to be entertaining, and I enjoy serious/dramatic games as much as the next guy, but sometimes I just want to have fun, while doing what I need to do, and FO2 is that kind of game. It pokes fun at itself and cliche after cliche while at the sametime being totally different and has a story that keeps you going. FO2 in general is an RPG verison of GTA, years and years before GTA was even a thought. The thing that makes FO2 so great, is you can literally do anything, attack anyone, do certain aspects in a totally different manner then previously, even become a pornstar. Everything you do could comeback and haunt you. For example, if you go into a town and start killing random people, you'll get a title and your "popularity" will get so low where ever you go people will run from you and you can't finish the main story. The inside jokes are another thing that makes this game pure gold, whenever you're traveling from location to location you have a chance for "special" encounters, theres even skills and abilities specifically meant to trigger these events. One event is a place called "Cafe of Broken Dreams" where FO2 character models reject all sit around and bitch. Saying stuff like "I didn't even make it out of beta..." and other funny comments. Another is where you run into a nuclear dumping grounds and you see a dog named Lucky who actually joins your party. He is not lucky, but the opposite, he causes critical failures all over the place. Only way to get rid of him is to kill him, and I think he has like 500k hitpoints, he caused a critical failure so bad on my fighter that his head literally exploded. I don't know if ever saw this episode of Star Trek but its one of those episodes everyone seems to know. The episode where Capt. Kirk and a few others crashed their shuttles, and they have to defend themselves for awhile while the Enterprise gets to them or something. Well you see the crash site along with a bunch of red shirts all over the ground. The game has lot of small fun tidbits all over the place, like if you lower your intellegence to 1, whenever you speak to anyone its all gibberish and your responses are loud grunts. The game just has so many options and different play styles it never gets boring. It truely was a game ahead of its time. Too bad at the current state a FO3 will never come out. |

Fallout 1 story- a chip in ur water generator thingie is broken, ur chosen to fix the problem by going out to find a new one.
Fallout 2 story- supposed descendant of the hero from Fallout 1 chosen to find the E.D.E.N kit because ur tribe(explain a bit in Fallout 1 and 2) is slowly dying and with out they will perish. wut makes Fallout unique is how one can go about making ur character, u can be thee most violent badass to date or u can be a pacifist from start to finish and yes its possible to do the latter. also there are many fun things to do, like thievery, getting *ahem* laid, etc. etc. also how u go about in the story is ur choice. also another neat thing about battling in this game is if ur dex is high enuff u can aim for specific part of the enemy's body like the eyes or the groin just to name a couple. that reminds me i gotta start playing Fallout 2 again... |

Bah, my vote still goes to Tetris Attack. Play that with two players and you're stuck. I still curse my brother to this day for beating me 5 times in a row (well not really, but the image burns in my head every once in awhile).

Ofcourse, YubeiYamazaki and AnAlPedoFileMan are now into the category in my mind known as "people who I like because they play(ed) Fallout". One minor adjustment though, it's not an E.D.E.N. kit, but a G.E.C.K. which ofcourse means Garden of Eden Creation Kit.
I like Fallout 1 just a little bit better though. |
