Eventhough i watch Gintama mainly for the comedy but damn, whenever they get serious.. it always kept me on the edge of my seat.

Must have been quite costly on their season budget for this arc with all the sword fight scene.
Can't wait for next week which promise more fighting action.

Aawwww, Nobume and Sougo are made for each other...

Hijikata's bullet-dodging skills are impressive. His bullet-splitting skills are even more impressive. Altogehter I am impressed with this episode.

Lol'd This episode was indeed pretty awesome...gunshots, explosions, swordfights, epic faces, lots of drama, insane ending and Hirano Aya's best line to date:

I'm still not interested in the arc overall (lack of Shinpachi and Kagura doesn't help) but damn the episode had some really good moments and animation.

I think I miss Katsura a lot more than the odd jobs crew, was kinda hoping he'd make an appearance, what with him being a terrorist and all.

Ditto. I'm still rather underwhelmed by this arc, but this episode was pure unadulterated awesome. Hijikata's fights against Sasaki was godly.

I very much enjoyed Sougo and Nobume's scenes too.

It is always fun watching the lunatics go crazy (in the bad meaning) over her (private life).
You'd think they had their family killed by her or something.

Just watched Gintama 246.

Dear Lord. When it's comical, it's great, but when it's an action and all serious show, it's just crazy AWESOME.

And I guess the Kintoki arc is going to have at least one episode as well animated as this one. They are doing their homeworks here. It's going to be a heavenly end for this season.

Is it just me or Sogo seems to be stronger than Hijikata if he fight seriously?

I was so entranced by the epic fight scenes beforehand that I totally forgot he was there, lol. But yeah, Gin-chan re-entrance made the episode even more awesome.

I get the impression that Sougo has more technical skill and speed than Hijikata, but Hijikata has more strength overall. I recall Kondo saying once that nobody is faster at swinging a katana than Sougo.

Yes, finally more epic battles! Cool arc except Tetsu and the fact that it's kinda short (too bad). They're always great but Sougo's fight scenes are much more wanted because we don't get to see Sougo in serious mode often. Gotta love his coldblooded temper while he shows off his insane skills. Also I missed Hirano Aya's voice in a way. There's always "those" News about her but I couldn't care less, it simply would be nice if she regained her voice acting roles in the future.

Hijikata vs Sasaki!
Tetsunosuke aka Cherry Boy LOL sure changed.
Hijikata's letter was pretty touching.
I was impressed by his fast recovery & counter attack on Sasaki.
Gin vs Hijikata at the end was just cool.

I'm looking forward to the mysterious character confronting Isaburo in the next episode. I think Mimawarigumi is going to be recurring organizations in the upcoming episodes.
