How big is Naruto in Japan compared to other big titles?

I'm wondering how popular Naruto is and how popular it will be if it reaches the US. Is it bigger than Pokemon/DBZ/Other major titles? Do you guys think it'll get bigger than Pokemon/DBZ ever did?

It's pretty popular, though it doesn't compare to One Piece or Prince of Tennis. But seeing as Naruto is far more popular with the Western Crowd here it can be assumed that it's gonna be fairly large in US/Europe. But I don't see another Pokémon happening anytime soon though.

I seriously doubt it would get bigger than DBZ Pokemon was. I know One Piece and Detective Conan, which I think are 2 of the most popular manga and anime in Japan know., are certianly more popular than Naruto. But no I doubt if it were imported it would get as big as Pokemon or DBZ.

Naruto is just a bit too weird for the majority of the Western audience to accept. With Pokemon, it's like pets fighting each other while with DBZ, it's just suped-up fighters shooting out lasers, the kind of stuff Americans love. With Naruto, you have things that Western audiences find strange, like hand-seals so it probably won't be as widely accepted as DBZ or Pokemon. Of course, the fact that the series is about ninja may appeal to some, considering the rise in interest of all things Japanese as a result of Kill Bill, a few successful animation films etc....

Nothing will ever top Pokemon.

Pokemon even ruled the UK market and for Anime that is saying something.

Digimon and YU GI HO also did well over here but nothing compared to Ash and the gang.

DBZ didn’t even make it big over here so I can safely say Naruto won't either.

2: Even though I love MMPPPP, it's sad to see it doing better than Sailor Moon LA...
3: Damn, Pretty Cure has moved down, it was quite often higher than Naruto. Although I guess it's because the new arc started, as the last time I saw the ratings Naruto was and the lower end of the top 20.

seriously pokemon is just abit dumb to me i dunno but the point of the "villians" for example being that dumb and useless is beyond me and the stories are like so uber "be good and you will win" pattern or at least thats what i noticed of the episodes that i have watched
