GTO manga prequels
I'm not totally sure whether or not these mangas are licenced yet or not (at least not the last time I checked, not to mention that there was no other forums here about it that I could find), but does anyone know of where to get the translated scans (in english) of "Bad Company" and "Shounan Junai Gumi" (not on mIRC)???
I heard that there was some really cool stuff that happened to Onizuka prior to when he became the "Great Teacher" that we all know and loved (takes place during his high school and biker/college years). If anyone knows where you can find the scans, licenced mangas, or can write up a summary, I can totally feel a coming your way from me and others that are fans of Onizuka. On another slight topic, I also heard a rumor that there was plan for a sequel (or a project based on one of the other characters from the GTO series), but I really don't trust rumors so much. Although it would be cool to see/read it. |

If there is a rumor of more GTO manga (or a manga following said characters), then it's incredibly and blatantly false. Or it's a rumor set to come to fruitation some time later this decade.
Tohru Fujisawa just started a new manga like 3 months ago that has nothing to do with anything GTO (demon slaying... ). |

I got all my SJG on DC++ so I'd recommend checking there.
If you want to check out Rose Hip Rose, check here (their main page where it is seems down atm, but it's usually up so check later?). It's complete at 11 chapters, but pretty cool while it lasts. Also a disclaimer though, it's a very mature and graphic manga so if blood and guts turns you off, take a pass. |

GTO manga prequel?
So I just downloaded a manga called 'Shounan Jun'ai Gumi'.
Right now they featured two characters named Eikichi Onizuka and Danma Ryuuji, and it has a high school setting. Is this related to GTO in anyway? |

Yes.
It's the adolescence of Onizuka and his friend Ryuji, trying desperately to get laid (some things never change, i presume). http://users.skynet.be/mangaguide/au277.html |

Shounan Jun'ai Gumi also came before GTO in the storyline.
He's also done Rose Hip Rose, Tokko... uuuuuh... and he wrote Wild Baseballers, but someone else did the artwork. There may be more, but those are all I can recall off the top of my head. |

Dude, talk in English. I know not what this 'gd' is and the lack of question marks after questions pushes me to make fun of you.
Bad Company is the beginning (the prequal to everything... how Danma and Onizuka meet). Shonan Jun'ai Gumi is the making of the legend of the Onibaku (Onizuka and Ryuji's gang days, basically). And GTO is the end. And of course they're funny. Although personally, I think the first 10 volumes of GTO is the best work Tohru Fujisawa's ever done. |

GTO starts to go way down once the Okinawa trip begins. Before that it was funny and outrageous. After that it was tedious and formulaic. There's only so many people that can go after Onizuka. There's only so many people that can fawn all over him. There's only so many times I can watch him getting manipulated. There's only so many "cool" antics Onizuka can pull. There's only so many dumb, contrived situations he can come out of smelling like roses. I think I made it to vol...14? Somebody's nephew on drugs or something funky like that. I enjoyed the earlier volumes quite a lot, so I decided to quit while I still had fond memories.
