n00b sound's sooooooo l337
any way .. today's n00b i can't describe it as a new-be .. even if you have ages playing a game .. people can still call you n00b , the only thing i see in a n00b .. is the lack of knowleadge ingame or a mistake made ... every one makes mistakes .. so every one can be a n00b ... ( even grandpa)

Well, in my experiance with that term, I see it most in MMOPvP games. And those who used the term were all assholes that went around killing the players that weren't good yet, haven't got decent items yet, or haven't got to a high level yet. Truely, if you aren't a newb, you're an asshole. Not that it isn't fun to be an asshole... but a polite newbie is far more acceptable in my book.

But killing n00bs is fun and funny. I remember this one time on Freelancer me and my friend where heading off to Edge Worlds from Liberty. So there where these n00bs behind us and they where like. "Your not going to kill us are you?" and we were like "no". But as soon as we got out of the no PVP system. We cought the n00bs coming threw the Jump gate and we were like "Give us 100,000 Credits or we blow you to pieces" we waited 5 minutes and they did not pay, so we opened fire. Its funny how it only took two vollys of my weapons to kill them. So after that we spent a half hour hunting them down until we got board.

Its not like I always pick on on n00bs, as you can see, I also dock rape.

killing normal n00b's maybe fun ... a litle ..
but killing some one that thinks hes no n00b ..
that's where the real fun is for me
even if u got good equipment .. items .. etc. if you fail to achive something .. u can be calld a n00b ... soo .. if you are not a noob .. you are an addict .

Jndeed it is. In fact, for a long period of time, that's all i would do in MMO games. The funnest part is when they run, but don't know the area well enough and they corner themselves. XD

LOL. I've noticed that it is more often used in some games than others. For instance, most of what I play online is Wolfenstein Enemy Territory and C&C Generals Zero Hour. Nobody says much in Enemy Territory. In Zero Hour "n00b" is used very often towards the end of a game in quickmatch, by both sides. The winner will call the loser a "n00b" for losing. The loser will call the winner a "n00b" for using cheap tactics to win.

off topic but since u guys are so pro(thats what i think a non- noob is called at least in games anyway) just why the hell did newb become noob, newb is so much more better. i think it was still newb in 2002 then came 2003 and BAM! it was noob

It's quite simple, really, though I doubt your n00b mind can understand such a concept...

"noob" is the phonetic spelling of "newb," which makes it easier for n00bs to learn
