Wow, what a bad choice of company.

I used to think Viz was okay. And then they got Hikaru no Go and just ruined it. They Americanized it and for something SO rooted in the traditional...it's become VERY different. I can't even read it.

No names are safe with Viz, they screwed up the English names in Angel Sanctuary.

Do I think they'll do a good job with FMA? Maybe. It is hard to mess up the names in FMA, except maybe Riza's. Do I think they will Americanize it? Yes. That's what they do.

I prefer Tokyopop, but seeing as it is an industry...well guess we're stuck with who wins the license.

Hmm, I wonder why Viz hasn't confirmed this yet? They've been scheduling new series like crazy...

Maybe TIME got the facts wrong?

Real quick, does anyone know if the DVDs will have the original Japanese actors voices as an option with English subs?

Actually most or all anime company do beside Funi since they do release show for 4Kids like yugioh where there is only dub.

But 4Kids is pretty hard to persuade to allow any non-dub release. They're refering to stuff that funi does themselves, not stuff 4kids subcontracts out to them. But yes, the DVDs will have dual language w/ optional subs.

Actually I didn't say Funi is bad for the dub release.I'am just saying they do release dub only disc. Not saying its their fault.

They just don't release dub only discs of their own series.

As for Viz, most of the time they change names and such are when the English dub of the anime already has those changes. Since FUNi has remained faithful to the original version (barring the Hakuro -> Haruko change), there shouldn't be many changes in Viz's version of the manga.
