Enigmatic has organized some of these information (though it's still lacking some of the more updated info). Because of how large the file is (it would be LOOONNNGG), it's currently uploaded on mediafire.
Edit 6: I just finished editing the first chapter of the Flashback Arc. I hope the quality of my summaries are up to par. Edit: Don't know why I wrote the current head as "step mother" in the 1st paragraph. But I corrected it. She has never married.
So here is Web 4 Chapter 1
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 1 Summary:
A few notes: This arc will occasionally switch between the present and past. The present is usually the first two or three paragraphs of a chapter.
The “mother” referred in this story is the Shiba sibling’s actual mother. She is the elder twin of Mayo Yotsuba.
With the exception of maybe the last chapter, the majority of this arc is written from Miyuki’s point of view.
Prologue: A week after “Scorched Halloween”, Tatsuya and Miyuki step into the main house of the Yotsuba (Four) family. This house was described as a relatively lackluster house located in a desolate village. Compared to the more traditional and well decorated houses of the Saegusa (Seven) or Ichigou (One) family, the Yotsuba house is very simple because it rarely receives guest. The sibling remember back three years ago when they first arrived at this place. At that time, Tatsuya was denied an audience with Mayo Yotsuba- the current head of the family and their aunt. Tatsuya says that they are no longer the same. Miyuki agrees because her brother can definitely defeat their aunt and further, their relationship has deepened.
She then remembers the events three years ago…
Before the year 2030, the world went through a global cooling period. As a result, famine became widespread and there were massive food shortages. In the year 2020, the population grew at an uncontrolled rate. The area that suffered the most was northern China near the Gobi Desert in the Mongolia region. Not only was this region experiencing cooling temperatures, it also was experiencing desertification. To survive, the residents wanted to rely on an historical method- illegal immigration. The problem was that Russia wouldn’t take in these desperate immigrants. Even if the immigrants settled in a desolate area, the Russians would take extreme measures. Extreme measures as in forceful extermination. Ironically, the Chinese would accuse of the Russians of human right violations and immoral conduct. On the other hand, the Russians would accuse the Chinese of violating international immigration law. This conflict between the two great powers sowed the seeds of a global conflict.
As global cooling worsened the food shortage, countries started to wage war for food and energy. Even if a place had a little energy or food, it was a sufficient cause for war. In the year 2045, the Third World War started. It was a war that would last twenty years. In history, the years 2045 to 2065 would go down as a constant warring period. There were no bystanders. From the year 2045 to 2065, the human population decreased from nine billion to three billion.
During this period, Russia expanded its territory and reclaimed much of its lost lands in Eastern Europe to become the New Soviet Union. China conquered the Uyghur tribes, Vietnam, Burma, Mongolia, and Korea. India and Iran combined and conquered the Middle East to become the Indi-Persian Alliance. The USA took in Canada and Mexico to become the USNA. In contrast to these successful expansions, the European Union failed to unite and split into a Western and Eastern half like the Roman Empire in the past. In Africa, half of the countries disappeared off the face of Earth. In South America, with the exception of Brazil, every country disintegrated into local junta governments.
The only reason why this World War didn’t turn into a nuclear war was because of the combined effort of magicians around the globe. In the year 2046, the International Magic Committee was formed. The purpose of this committee was to forcefully prevent the usage of nuclear weapons that would cause irreparable damage to the environment. If the mission was to prevent the activation of a nuclear weapon, any magician is allowed to collaborate with magicians from other countries. Even if the magician is a frontline soldier, if there are signs of a potential nuclear attack, he or she was to drop his or her fight and focus on the nuclear weapon.
Due to the ratification of the “International Magic Committee Treaty”, all nuclear attacks were prevented. In the twenty year period, not one nuclear weapon was dropped. Because of the committee’s merit, they enjoyed a prestigious reputation and standing in the international arena.
As the lesson of “Modern History” ends, Miyuki is looking outside her window. The airplane is currently arriving at Okinawa. The vast green sea reflecting the sun almost made her forget that the world is still going through global cooling. Nevertheless, she’s aware that the cooling affects their daily life. For example, females never reveal a portion of their chest anymore. She thought to herself that she never really liked that style of attire. As she was daydreaming, the plane landed. The plane had little to no vibration. As she unbuckled her seatbelt, she thought about the Economy class. Apparently, people are sitting shoulder-to-shoulder down there. She couldn’t even imagine sitting like that next to a stranger for over an hour. She went to the entrance to wait for her mother and thought that it was nice to enjoy some privacy. The only blemish in this trip was that it included her brother.
As Miyuki and her mother waited in the resting area, her brother came with their luggage. In contrast to her, her brother sat in the Economy class. The reason he sat there was for security reasons. Even though the security is very tight in First class, the same can’t be said for the Economy class. In the event of a hijack, her brother provided an additional layer of security measure.
Even though this was the explanation, she was aware that this was anything but “normal”.
As she walked alongside her mother, she peeked at her brother. Like his normal self, he wore an emotionless face as he carried their luggage. She doesn’t necessary hate her brother, it’s just that she doesn’t know how to interact with her brother. In the house, he doesn't even act as part of the family. All the family members treat him like a servant and he acts his part. Moreover, the two of them are only separated by a year. Even though they’re in the same grade, the treatment they receive is vastly different. As Miyuki ponders about her brother, Tatsuya notices that Miyuki is constantly glancing back at him. He asks, "what's wrong?” Miyuki thinks to herself that there's not a shred of care in his voice and becomes a bit frustrated, "Nothing's wrong. Don't constantly stare at me! It’s very unpleasant!" "My apologies." Tastuya then lowers his head and widens his distance.
This time, we're staying at a villa. Normally, I would have been fine with a hotel, but mother hates crowded places. As such, father quickly got a villa ready. Miyuki then shook her head and thought, he's still using money to try and buy my mother's love.
Supposedly, father was a magician with loads of potential. The defining characteristic in his youth was his nearly inexhaustible amount of energy (to fuel magic). Unfortunately, he never panned out. Now, he's a worker at the company my mother started. Because of the difference in status, my father is always weak in front of her. Even so, I hope that he acts a bit more like a father.
Note: Both siblings apparently inherited their father’s inexhaustible bug level energy.
When they arrive at the villa, they're greeted by Minoru Sakurai- the guardian of Maya Yotsuba or Miyuki’s mother. She's a first generation "Sakurai", which is a series of magicians who were genetically altered and strengthened in magic. Five years ago, she was part of an elite unit in the police force. Even though the police force tried to make her stay, she ultimately left because her goal was to learn how to guard someone. Contrary to her background, she is a relatively energetic and open person.
The reason she arrived so early at the villa was to check the surroundings and prepare the villa for their arrival. Miyuki notes that Minoru is different from the rest of the family because she treats Tatsuya as the brother of Miyuki- in order words an official member of the family.
After settling in, Miyuki told her mother that she wants to go out for a jog since it's a bit boring to stay in the villa. Her mother said," Ok, but bring Tatsuya with you." Right then, Miyuki's motivation for a jog evaporated into thin air.
While jogging, she tried her best to not look back. Even though she can't hear any breathing or jogging noise behind her, she knew that Tatsuya was behind her at a distance. After all, Tatsuya is her guardian. She wondered to herself why Tatsuya is called a guardian rather than bodyguard. She then answers it herself that a body guard is a "job" while a guardian is a "mission or duty". Whereas a bodyguard gets monetary compensation for his or her work, a guardian's sole purpose in life is to guard whoever the principal is. All money, food, and water are provided not for compensation, but rather to ensure the guardian can perform his or her duties. In a sense, a guardian eats in order to protect. A guardian has no life. Every ounce of blood and skin belongs to the master. Miyuki then tells herself, “I must accept all of this. If I don't, I'll get excluded”. After all, this is what it meant to be a "Yotsuba.".
Miyuki then started to think, elder brother started to become my guardian at the age of 6 and he'll remain so the rest of his life. He was not raised as the elder son of the current head's older sister, but rather as the guardian of a candidate for the next head. I don’t hate my brother, so why do I burden him with such a duty?
As she dazed off into her thoughts, she runs into a tall, black military personnel with two others behind him. As she fell back, her brother caught her. When she looked up, she saw these marines were throwing lecherous glances at her. Miyuki immediately recognizes these people as Left Blood, meaning US orphans of death parents from the war. The second generation of Left Blood is known for churning out delinquents and other criminals. Miyuki is angry at herself for not looking out ahead because the Okinawa brochure even warned of avoiding these people.
After Tatsuya catches her, he immediately moves in front of her. The USNA marine said, "I'm not interested in little brats." Tatsuya doesn't say anything and merely stares at the marines. "What's wrong, are scared out of your wits?" "Hey, why aren't you saying anything?" I was personally very angry at myself. I regretted that I didn’t bring along my CAD. With a CAD, I can control the force of my magic. If I exert too much force, it’ll cause problems.
Tatsuya then proposes, “Why don’t we return to where we came from?” The marine got a bit pissed, “What did you say?” and then punched toward Tatsuya. I turned around and closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes and looked back, I saw Tatsuya catch the punch without moving an inch. Even if it was one fist vs. two hands, the marine was far bigger and stronger than my brother who was nothing more a middle school student. She then briefly wondered if he activated magic, but then quickly dismissed the idea because she would have noticed it.
The marine laughed out, “Interesting, I was originally only playing around.” Tatsuya coldly replied, “Are you sure you want to continue? If you walk down this path, this would no longer be a mere joke.”
The events that followed were so fast that my eyes weren’t even able to keep up with it. I only saw the result yet I was able to deduce what actually happened.
As the marine stepped up with his left foot and cocked his right hand near his legs for a punch, Tatsuya penetrated into the marine’s defenses by shooting his left foot between the marine’s feet and firing a left punch into the marine’s chest.
Tatsuya then retreated out while the marine slowly fell to his knees in pain. Tatsuya looked down at the marine on his knees and then looked up at the two other marines who were speechless. Tatsuya then turned his back and told Miyuki, “Let’s go.”
When the two returned, Minoru came running up and asked, “What happened?” Even though Miyuki tried to hide it, it was pointless because her expression gave it away. “Ah, I ran into a bit of trouble.” Seeing as to how there wasn’t any problem and how I was smiling, Minoru dropped the issue. Even so, I couldn’t smile for long because I didn’t say that brother saved me. Tatsuya then greeted Minoru and went in the villa.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 2 Summary:
-In the present-
“Oh!”
“Brother?”
“It’s the Kuroba siblings.”
Miyuki started to get dressed and then decided to sit back down because the two were seemingly ready to leave. They were leaving the house of their grandparent. Inside that house lived the Shiba siblings’ grandfather’s sister. In other words, that person is the aunt of the current head.
Miyuki thought how they are always so close (in the distance sense, not emotional sense) yet never meet.
She then remembers back to three years ago…
Miyuki is currently dressing up for a high class social party exclusive for the Yotsuba family. Miyuki isn’t really happy and Minori immediately points it out. She says that Miyuki can’t go in the party looking like that. Miyuki then asks how she can hide her true feeling. Minori tells Miyuki to emotionally lie to herself.
At the party, mother had to rest because she was ill. As such, Miyuki had to be the one who greeted his uncle- Mr Kuroba- who organized the party. In addition, he bought along his daughter and son. His son- Bunya- is a candidate for the next head. When Bunya and his sister saw Miyuki, they immediately greeted her. Unlike Tatsuya and herself, this pair is a true twin born in the month of June. Both of them look up to Miyuki and even more so to Tatsuya.
Bunya in particular thinks highly of Tatsuya. Miyuki then thinks, “Well, it’s no wonder. Even if Tatsuya isn’t rated highly by magician standards, he makes it up with his physical body and brains. Intellectually, he is a genius and athletically, he is supreme. As a matter of fact, his physical prowess borders on cheating. His looks aren’t bad and even though he physically looks average, he has the strength of a lion. Finally, he also has a magical ability that counters all the others. I guess he is the representation of a hero every guy looks up to. ” Bunya asks where Tatsuya is and Miyuki points to a corner where Tatsuya is on duty. Bunya immediately runs to Tatsuya with the sister following. Miyuki knows the sister has feelings toward Tatsuya, but she’s always hiding it. Mr Kuroba on the other hand is really upset. Mr Kuroba is a true “Yotsuba”. He believes Tatsuya is a tool to be used and thrown away. He wants his own son to do the same. Because Bunya is acting all friendly to a tool like Tatsuya, Mr Kuroba is upset that his son won’t be able to use tools and throw them away. Miyuki notes that her mother preaches the same to her and that she herself is constantly reinforcing that to herself.
From a distance, Miyuki sees Tatsuya smile and call Bunya by his name without the honorifics. Miyuki gets a bit upset because Tatsuya is never this close to her. On the other hand, Mr Kuroba is unsure what to do and tells Bunya to not “disturb” Tatsuya with his job. The Kuroba twins then say that Tatsuya’s duty is to protect Miyuki and that by being close to Miyuki, Tatsuya can do his job. To help out Mr Kuroba, Tatsuya asks if Mr Kuroba can “guard” Miyuki while he goes outside to check the perimeter. Mr Kuroba gets the hint and says, sure. Tatsuya then leaves while the twins whine to their father.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 3 Summary:
In the present timeline, Miyuki laughs to herself and Tatsuya replies with a smile if something good happened. Miyuki replies, “No, I was just remembering how naïve I was three years ago.” Tatsuya’s smile disappears and he closed his eyes. Miyuki continues, “Say, you were extremely close to the Kuroba twins. I was really shocked.” Tatsuya replies, “Forgive me, I was just being a kid back then.” “Back then, I didn’t understand and didn’t try to understand brother.” Tatsuya doesn’t say anything. His five senses are alert at all times for any situation. His sole goal in life is to protect Miyuki. The difference between now and back then is that Miyuki didn’t know back then and now knows.
-Return back to 3 years ago-
Miyuki always wakes up early and today is no exception. She then opens her window and looks down. There in the backyard, Tatsuya is going through his daily morning routine. He’s currently going through a kata (a set of moves in karate and other martial arts). Miyuki becomes entranced by the kata. When Tatsuya finishes, Miyuki retreats and closes her window. She felt that even though her brother never once lifted his head, he probably knew she was there.
Minori always prepares breakfast. She asks the Maya if there are any plans today. Maya replies that they should go out to the sea. As such, it would be nice to rent a mid-sized yacht. She says that they leave at 4pm. Minori then suggests to Miyuki that she should go to the beach. Miyuki says ok, but then Minori comes right back and says that she MUST put sunscreen on. Suddenly, Minori goes “huhuhuhuh, let me put the sun screen on for you.” Miyuki becomes a bit worried, “Uh…., no thanks, I can handle it myself.” Minori continues to creep closer, “huhuhuh, no, no, let me put it on for you. If you put it on yourself, you’ll miss a spot.” Before Miyuki can do anything, Minori already dragged her away. When Miyuki looked back, she saw Tatsuya turn his face around as if he’s trying to suppress his laugh. She thought that it was strange for Tatsuya to reveal such a normal behavior.
When Miyuki arrived at the beach (in a two piece), the umbrella and everything was set up. Miyuki enters the shade and sits next to her brother. Her brother is cross legged and staring onto the horizon. Miyuki constantly glances at her brother and wonders if it isn’t boring. She then looks to another area and sees a guy putting oil onto his girlfriend. She then remembers Minori saying that guys like the feel of a female’s skin. Miyuki personally thinks it’s disgusting and then wonders if her brother has the same desires. Her brother then looks at her with the same emotionless face. Miyuki quickly turns away while Tatsuya returns his sights to the ocean. Gradually, Miyuki gets sleepy and then falls asleep. In her sleep, she could feel Tatsuya putting her clothe over her. Two hour later, she wakes up to see her brother in the same cross-legged position looking into the ocean.
When she got back, she walks out of her room and passes by Tatsuya’s room. As she’s walking by, she hears Minori yelling at Tatsuya. Miyuki puts her ears next to the door and then hears Minori, “How come you aren’t treating that injury!?” “It’s nothing. There’s no injury to the bone.” “What kind of standard is that?! Doesn’t it hurt at all?” “Yes, there is pain, but consider it punishment.” “I give up. It’s always like this. At least let me put a healing spell on it.” “There’s no need. If my combat ability is reduced, then it’ll naturally heal.” “Tatsuya, we have a life too. We’re not machines. Even though a guardian should do anything in his or her power to protect the freedom of their master, there’s no need to go to such extreme ends. You could have just woken up Miyuki and switched a new location. There was no need to interfere with another group’s conflict just so that your master can continue her nap without interference.” “I’ve reflected.” “Have you? You know that escaping is also a combat skill right? You should learn it.” After hearing this conversation, Miyuki quickly returned to her room.
When they got on the boat, they went out. There were the driver and his assistant and then Minori, Maya, Tatsuya, and Miyuki. On their way back with the sun setting, she decided to take a nap. Suddenly, something jolted her out of sleep. When she woke up, she saw Minori ominously looking out into the sea. When Miyuki lifted her head, she saw a submarine. Tatsuya came over, “Mistress, please go to the back.” The very fact that he’s calling me mistress told me the gravity of this situation. Without warning, the submarine fired two torpedoes toward our boat. Tatsuya walked forward and placed his hand out toward the water. I thought, “Without a CAD?! Are you a retard? What can you do without a CAD?” She looked to Minori to do something in place of her stupid brother. Contrary to her expectation, Tatsuya released his magic onto the torpedoes and it broke apart into pieces…. disintegration. What he just did was access the information layer of the torpedoes, broke it apart, and then reorganized it into the way he wanted. When Miyuki witnessed this, she wondered if she ever truly understood her brother. While Miyuki was spacing out, Minori was firing magic into the water.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 4 Summary:
In the present timeline, the leader of the 101st Squadron-Kazame- has entered the Yotsuba family's house. Tatsuya at first wonders what brought this guy here, but then he asks if it’s the Yotsuba family. Kazame confirms Tatsuya’s suspicions. Miyuki then remembers that they first met this person three years ago.
-Returns to 3 years ago-
By the time the military arrived, the submarine had already disappeared. Minori is absolutely pissed that a submarine was able to trespass into their territory.
In comparison to Minori who is supposedly ripping it into the military officers, Miyuki just wanted to rest and recollect herself. She realizes that she just witnessed Tatsuya destroying, reforming, and altering the information layer of the torpedoes. This is considered a magic of the highest difficulty. It’s so difficult that neither she herself nor anyone in the Yotsuba family including her aunt is able to use it. Yet Tatsuya was able to perform the magic without a CAD.
She then starts to question why Tatsuya is her guardian. Wasn’t he excluded from the family because he was lacking in magic? Wasn’t he relegated to the role of a guardian because he couldn’t use a variety of magic? Other than gram demolition and gram dispersion, isn’t he unable to use high level magic? Isn’t it because he’s weak at modern magic that he needs to rely on his physical talents and his gram disintegration magic? Suddenly, she realizes something. She remembers that this is the first time that she has left the household since she entered middle school. In the past, the family would never let an elementary school student guard her by herself. In other words, this is the first time that Tatsuya had to act as her guardian.
After a while, Minori comes into Miyuki’s room and asks that Miyuki go down to the lobby because the military personnel are asking. When she arrived, she sees that the military personnel doing the interview is a person by the name of Kazame. He asks if they were attacked because of any action they did. Minori who was already impatient gets really pissed. Kazame ignores the anger directed at him and instead asks Tatsuya if he noticed anything.
Tatsuya starts his analysis by saying that the torpedoes fired were a pair of special FAPAO torpedo. Minori asks what a FAPAO torpedo is. Tatsuya proceeds to explain that this torpedo was designed to release mass bubbles, which in effect would flip over the boat rather than destroy the boat. As such, it’s presumed that the goal was not to kill the passengers, but rather to capture them. Both Miyuki and Minori are shocked about Tatsuya’s knowledge and deep analysis. Kazame becomes interested in this young individual and asks how he noticed it was a FAPAO torpedo? Tatsuya said that in order to fire a FAPAO torpedo, you must activate radar jam. Miyuki is even further shocked that Tatsuya noticed that their radar was being interfered. Kazame replies that the interference isn’t enough to deduce that a FAPAO torpedo was fired. Tatsuya replies, “The radar jam isn’t the only basis for this conclusion.” Kazame asks, “What else is there?” Tatsuya immediately replies, “I refuse to answer.” Kazame and the others are speechless by Tatsuya’s answer. Tatsuya then asks, “Are any further basis required? [In order to make this deduction]” Kazame replies, “No…, nothing else is needed.” This concludes the meeting.
As Miyuki and Tatsuya sendoff Kazame to the front door, a marine next to the big military Hummer recognizes Tatsuya. “It’s you.” Kazame then realizes that Tatsuya was the one who defeated the marine earlier today. Kazame formally apologizes for the behavior of his subordinate. Kazame is impressed that Tatsuya knows Martial Arts move X (the move that knocked out the marine and one that I’m unable to translate). Tatsuya accepts the apology. Just as Kazame is about to leave, he looks back and asks, “You said your name is Tatsuya Shiba right? If you have time, please visit the military base on Enna. I’m currently the instructor for flight landing magic. I’m sure it’ll interest you.” Without waiting for Tatsuya’s reply, he got on the Hummer and left.
The next day, Miyuki and her family look out the window and see a storm brewing. Her mother wonders what to do. Minori suggests that see a Ryuku Dance. Maya accepts the proposition. Minori then adds that this event is for females only…, meaning that Tatsuya… Maya then commands Tatsuya, “It’s fine. Tatsuya, you have today off. Didn’t the military officer invite you to their base? You should join them. They might let you participate in their training.” Tatsuya replies, “Understood.” Miyuku suddenly cuts in and says that she wants to join her “brother”. The mother is shocked, but then Miyuki says that she too is interested in military magic and that she wants to understand her guardian’s powers. Maya buys it and praises Miyuki. The mother then turns to Tatsuya, “Tatsuya, bring her with you. Also, don’t use honorifics and don’t call her “mistress”. Address her as “Miyuki”. Don’t give any hint that Miyuki is the next head of the family.” Tatsuya replies, “Understood.” Both Tatsuya and Miyuki are a bit shocked at their mother’s order. Not only is their mother implying that Miyuki is the next head of the family rather than a mere candidate, but she’s also telling Tatsuya to interact with Miyuki on the same level. Nevertheless, she clarifies, “Don’t misunderstand. Your relationship remains the same, but this little act is required to mislead the outsiders.” “I understand.”
“My name is Sanada from the Ground Forces.” Tatsuya is a little shocked that a mid-level military officer received them. Further, Tatsuya thought that Enna is an air force military base. Sanada says that Tatsuya is quite knowledgeable. Tatsuya says that his combat instructor/master is from the Ground Forces. Sanada replies, “I see… Well, the reason I’m here to receive you is because the major has high expectations for you.” He said that with a sneaky smile. In turn, Tatsuya raised his level of alertness.
When they arrive at the training facility, Kazame came over. Kazame asks if he is interested in the military. Tatsuya replies that he is interested in the magic, but not sure if he wants to join the military. He is just a middle school student. Then Kazame asks if the two of them are magicians. Miyuki isn’t sure how to reply and wonders how he knows. She starts to panic. Kazame says that it’s instincts. In turn, Kazame wonders why Miyuki is worried about this. Tatsuya then covers for her, “Ah, because I lack magical talent, my little sister is always worried for me. She can be a bit touchy on this topic.” “Ah, I see. Such a nice sister. How envious.” Miyuki then wonders why Tatsuya is covering for her since only she would get in trouble.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 5 Summary:
In the present timeline, Kazame is walking with Tatsuya and Miyuki through the old research facility underground. All countries have magic research facilities. In this country, there are ten of them and half of them have been shut down due to immoral research. They are currently at the old facility of the infamous “4th Research Facility,” which is right under the main house. Even back then, the 4th facility was known for its secrecy and their complete disregard for human life. Today, all research from that facility are still restricted. Right now, as the three of them walk through the old facility, they could smell the stench of corpses. Tatsuya comments, “The current stench that you smell is probably the corpse of all the magicians who failed.” Kazame replies, “Hm, so you are the same as Jumonji who always live within a thread of death. So this is a guardian of the Yotsuba family. It’s no wonder a military officer can’t defeat a kid who came out of this place.” Supposedly, only magicians who survive this facility are recognized as official magicians in the family with the number “four” in their name. The ones who fail are dead.
-Returns back to 3 years ago-
After the soldiers finished their military exercise, it’s now time for one on one combat. Kazame invites Tatsuya, “hey, isn’t it boring to just watch? How bout a round?” Tatsuya consents, “You’re right, it’s not often that I get this opportunity.” His first opponent is a national level fighter. As such, Kazame warns Tatsuya to not hold back. Miyuki thinks to herself, “national level?” Yet when her mind wandered off, the fight was already over. Evidently, Tatsuya immediately penetrated into his opponents defenses and then used a karate chop stab into his opponent’s chest. Sanada widens his eyes in shock and Kazame calls up the next opponent.
Kazame tells him to go all out. The opponent immediately starts the attack and Tatsuya dodges everything. Kazame immediately notes that Tatsuya is a practical all-around fighter. Tatsuya is basing his movement off the fact that his opponent has hidden weapons and is of the stealth type. Tatsuya eventually counters with 4 punches which all get dodged. His opponent then aims for the opening Tatsuya left. Before the attack could land, Tatsuya grabbed his attacking arm, slid along his elbow, and attacked the exposed abdomen. His opponent fell back three steps and the match was over.
The third soldier was the marine Tatsuya defeated earlier in the day- Yue. Yue wants a chance for redemption. When the fight starts, Yue immediately uses acceleration magic. Miyuki thought that it wasn’t fair, but Tatsuya said it was fine. Soon enough, Tatsuya enters his magic stance with his left hand cocked near his hip and his right fist extended toward his opponent. He activates Cast Jamming, which deactivates Yue’s acceleration magic. Because the acceleration was suddenly deactivated, Yue’s mind and body become messed up. He has no sense of direction of where he’s going. Tatsuya then gently extends his hand onto Yue and blows Yue away with Martial Art Move X (the same martial arts he used before in the 1st fight). Tatsuya walks toward Yue and offers to pull Yue up from the ground, which he accepts. Yue is impressed and tells Tatsuya to call him by his name.
After the match, Kazame says that’s enough. He also thanks Tatsuya for instilling discipline into his soldiers. He then proposes afternoon tea.
At tea, which was actually coffee, Sanada and Kazame are discussing Tatsuya’s gram demolition magic. Miyuki thinks to herself that for once Tatsuya is the main character while she is just there. Eventually, they talk about CAD. They ask if Tatsuya doesn’t use a CAD. Tatsuya replies that he’s extremely meticulous with his CAD. Sanada then asks if Tatsuya can try out one of his military CADs. Sanada tells him that he works with developing CAD. Tatsuya’s eyes immediately lit up, “Then I guess I’ll try it.”
Next, they go to the CAD research facility on the base. Contrary to Miyuki’s expectations, the place is extremely organized. Tatsuya is like a kid at a candy store. Even though he’s composed, people could feel the excitement emitting from his body. Miyuki thinks to herself that she’s never seen Tatsuya like this. While she sits down, Sanada is explaining how to use this big sniper rifle CAD. Miyuki then starts to wonder how much of Tatsuya does she really know? She thinks that her brother doesn’t love her and it’s even possible that he hates her. If he wasn’t born in the Yotsuba family with all the responsibilities that go along with it, he would be elite. While all this is going on in her mind, Sanada explains that this CAD uses acceleration and movement magic. It has a maximum range of 20km. Tatsuya is really interested and continues to interact with Sanada.
Ok, yeah. It's getting late and I still have work tomorrow (it's freakin 2 on Central Time). Hopefully, I can edit and release the rest tomorrow. If not, I'll break it up the remaining release into 2 days since the later chapters get a bit longer.

Location: Seattle and Houston... sleeping in a car.
Summary Web 4 Part II. Hopefully I can finish the rest today. We'll see how things go.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 6:
In the present, Tatsuya continues his conversation from earlier, “There’s nothing special about being a guardian of the Yotsuba family. For one, I was defeated by Yanagi and I’m still far away from my master. Kazame replies that even he can’t defeat his master yet. When they reach the door, a young servant comes out and greets them. He tells them that Mayo is currently a bit busy with a guest. Kazame says he doesn’t mind.
-Return to the past-
Currently, Miyuki is in her room studying. After two hours of study, she had it. Minori gives her more books about complex magic. To Miyuki, this is too much even though she knows that her brother can understand it. She thinks to herself that her brother must be into his CAD again. Yesterday, Sanada originally intended to “lend” him two two pistol CADs, but then it somehow became a gift. Tatsuya didn’t reject this gift and has been spending all his free time working on these CADs. She wonders why CADs are so interesting.
Before she knew it, she’s in front of her brother’s door and is about to knock when Tatsuya opens the door and asks if there’s anything she needs. Miyuki peeks behind him and sees all these words flowing, which are the information that are flowing from CAD modification. Tatsuya asks, “Mistress?” Miyuki yells out, “Don’t call me mistress!” Tatsuya is a bit shocked, but Miyuki makes the excuse that “if they don’t practice calling each other by name that others will suspect of their relation. As such, please call me Miyuki.” “I see, Miyuki. Is that good enough?” Miyuki yells out, “That’s good enough” and escapes back to her room. Even though Tatsuya used more emotions, she felt it was an act and all artificial. She then started to cry.
In the next two days, nothing noteworthy happened. Suddenly, the news reported an emergency. The submarines have bypassed the defenses and are close to their location. Minori suggests asking the Mayo for help. Maya isn’t pleased since she has a bad relation with her younger twin. Even though they’re twins, they’re currently in a standoff. Miyuki then notices that Tatsuya is unusually calm. Soon enough, Tatsuya receives a call from Kazame who suggests that they move over to the base. Tatsuya rises and then bows in front of his mother, “My lady, Kazame suggests that we take shelter at the base.” Miyuki is a little surprised that Kazame would offer shelter after meeting Tatsuya for only a day. A moment later, Minori says, “My lady, the head called.” After a talk, it seemed Mayo told the military to give them shelter. Minori, Tatsuya, and his mother are all concerned. The gist is that in this event, there’s no guarantee that the military will keep their end of the bargain. Nevertheless, their mother decides to accept the offer. “Tatsuya, call back and accept their offer. Also, tell them to pick us up.” “Roger.”
The person to pick them up was Yue. “Sorry for the wait.” Tatsuya apologizes, “Sorry for calling you all the way out here.” “Hey, don’t be so distant.” Yue then gets all buddy-buddy with Tatsuya. Maya isn’t pleased with the informality and rudeness of Yue. After noticing, he formally introduces himself to the group and guides them away. While they’re sitting in the military vehicle, Tatsuya reassures Miyuki that he’ll protect her, which absolutely shocks her. As she was about to glare at Tatsuya, Tatsuya suddenly rose.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 7:
*Unlike earlier, this chapter immediately starts out in the past*
Following Tatsuya, Minori immediately stands up. The stranger next to them wonders what in the world are they doing. Both Tatsuya and Minori hear gun shots from a semi-automatic. This meant that the fighting had already started. This is when the stranger asks if they are magicians. If they are magicians, shouldn’t they be in the front lines? Minori gets pissed saying that magicians aren’t soldiers. He says that fighting for their country is their duty. This is when Tatsuya says that regardless of whether they are magician or not, they serve the country, not any random individual (directed at the stranger). Furthermore, even among magicians, only 1/5th can “create” new objects (elite magicians such as Miyuki). The remaining 4/5th magicians can only work with original information (e.g. Tatsuya himself).
Maya then commands, “Tatsuya.” “What are your orders?” “Take a look outside.” Tatsuya revealed a conflicted expression, “But if I leave the vicinity, there is no guarantee that I can protect Miyuki.” Her mother than coldly glared at Tatsuya, “Miyuki? Tatsuya, do you know your position!?” “My apologies.” Minori then came in, “Tatsuya, I’ll protect Miyuki.” Tatsuya then left, “Understood, I’ll go check the perimeters.”
When they arrived at the location, an air force officer greeted them and offered to lead them to the shelter. Minori tells the officer that they have one other person out there. The officer apologizes and says that the enemy has already entered the base. If they remain here, they would be in danger. Surprisingly, Maya says, “I can’t leave my son out there.” Both Minori and Miyuki wondered if they heard correctly. As the marines convened, Minori went to Maya. When Minori came in, Maya warns her, “I’m don’t care at all about Tatsuya. That was merely an excuse.” Miyuki became pissed at her mother’s heartlessness. Minori then wonders about the real reason. “It’s instincts. My instincts tell me that I can’t trust these people.” Minori immediately raises her alertness to the max. Miyuki’s mother doesn’t specialize in anything particularly special, but she is extremely adept at spiritual manipulation. In other words, she can analyze another person’s spirit and have a grasp on their intentions.
Suddenly, Luke, Hare, Ben, and Mike all turn on the group and activate Cast Jamming to negate Minori and Miyuki. Yue is shocked and demands to know why they’re rebelling. Luke asks why Yue is helping the Japanese army after how Japan treated the Left Bloods. Yue understands that they can never truly fit into Japanese society, but as a whole, they’re accepted by everyone. Luke says that’s only because Yue is a magician. Yue gets mad because they’re brothers not because he is magician, but because of the bonds they’ve developed together.
During this argument, the Cast Jamming started to weaken. While this is normally sufficient for most magicians, a candidate for the next head of the Yotsuba family is in their presence. This level of cast jamming isn’t enough and Miyuki decides to use her natural spirit manipulation magic- Cocytus. Three of the four get completely frozen. That leaves the fourth who turns toward Miyuki, Minori , and Maya. As he starts firing his automatic assault rifle, Minori tries to activate her magic. However, before her magic could activate, it got destroyed by the incoming bullets.
The bullets then flew in and shot through the three of them.
Compared to pain, the wound felt hot. My body felt freezing cold.
I could clearly feel my life flowing away with my blood.
I, will die.
I heard people say that when a person dies, he or she will experience various regrets. Surpisingly, there were no regrets.
The only person who came up was “that person”. I’m sorry. If I weren’t here, you could live a much more normal life. If I weren’t here, you could live much more freely. I’m so sorry brother. So very sorry…
“MIYUKI!”
I thought I was hallucinating. I thought my brain made up brother’s voice because of my final moments. Never in my life have I heard my brother so passionately call out my name. This can’t be reality.
I tried my best and opened my eyes. I saw the sky, a missing wall, the rebels nowhere to be seen, and finally, the sight of my brother.
Then, “something” big came out of his left hand. That “thing” covered my decaying body and easily broke through my natural defense. I could feel my brother’s “heart” hugging me. I couldn’t describe it any other way. He thoroughly read my body and completely rewrote it. “I” was recreated from my brother’s will and power. If this could be called magic, it’s too powerful, too skillful, and too daring. No, I’m wrong, this is what “magic” is. It’s abilities like this that are worthy of the name “magic.” I could see the death god leaving. Yes, run away. That’s it. You aren’t what I thought you were, “haha.”
“Miyuki?! Are you alright?” My brother showed such a worried face. It was the first time I’ve seen him express his emotions so openly. “Big brother….” “Thank goodness.” My brother was hugging me tightly and I grabbed onto the back of his jacket. “Ah,” He then pulled back and turned his head around. When he turned back, he once again wore an emotionless face. Miyuki felt that even though the face was emotionless, she could feel him focusing all his energy on making it seem like it. “Big brother…” He then focused his attention on the other two. He raised his CAD and then pulled the trigger on his mother. Through the experience I just had, I knew big brother has an unbelievable amount of Psion in his body. Through his hand, an abnormally large amount of Psion was created.
As I watched him work, I could deduct what was happening. He was reading through all the information within mother and then completely rewriting them. The gun wound disappeared. The blood stain on her shirt and the floor disappeared. I ran over and hugged mother. Even though she had some trouble, she was breathing. It felt like the gun wound never happened.
Tatsuya then aimed at Minori. In comparison to his work on mother, he was much, much faster this time. Does this mean that he already mastered this ability? In merely three tries? Healing someone back to full health is considered a magic of the highest difficulty and it only took him three tries. Even though this fact was a bit scary, I reasoned that it was normal.
After all, this person is my great elder brother- the brother that I’m so proud of.
*Note: The implication is that this is the first time Tatsuya used Divine Left on someone.
Minroi looked at her own body and couldn’t believe her eyes. Even though mother didn’t wake up, she was sleeping. Kazame comes over and expresses his apologies over the rebellion. If Tatsuya hadn’t arrived, Miyuki and her group would have been all dead. Tatsuya asks for an update of the situation. Kazame says that the submarine has already landed and the infantry units are already on the ground. Further, the rebels are interfering with operations. The local HQ also has been conquered by the opposition. That said, they’ve suppressed the majority of the rebels. To Tatsuya, this is all pointless because the opposing army is only using the rebels. They could care less if every rebel died. Tatsuya then tells Kazame to prepare a special shelter for the other three. As for himself, he wants a military armor and the proper equipment. He’s going to the frontlines.
From Miyuki’s view, she sees extreme rage. She could see the fire burning inside his eyes.
“How dare they touch Miyuki. They will pay with their life.” Everyone but Kazame is shocked. Kazame looks at Tatsuya and asks, “Are you going in alone?” Tatsuya returns the look and replies, “This is not a military mission, but personal revenge.” “That’s not the problem. People fight all the time. As long as you control yourself and don’t go berserk.” The two of them are matching eye contact. Kazame continues, “Massacre on non-military personnel or the surrendered is not allowed. You aren’t planning anything are you?” Tatsuya rebuts, “Hmph, I’m not even going to give them the time to surrender.” “That’s fine. Our mission this time is to force back the opposition or to completely destroy the enemy. There is no need to force them to surrender. Alright, Tatsuya Shiba, enter my ranks.” Tatsuya refutes, “I don’t plan on following your orders. It just so happens that our enemies are the same this time and the both of us are trying to eliminate them. That’s the only reason we’re fighting together.” “That’s also fine. Sanada! Give him his armor and equipment. We’re leaving in ten minutes.”
“Minori, I leave mother and Miyuki to you.” Without waiting for her reply, he followed Sanada.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 8:
Web 4 Chapter 8- The Birth of the Demon God
Miyuki wonders if this is alright. This is too dangerous and he’s going to the frontlines. She runs toward her brother. “Big brother!” Tatsuya turns around, “What is it?” “That, um, big brother…” “Miyuki?” She begs her brother not to go. It’s too dangerous. Tatsuya reassures her that he isn’t going because of an obligation or duty. He’s going because he wants to. Miyuki then grabbed his suit. Seeing her sister like this, he placed his hand on hers, “It’s as I said. I’m getting revenge for you. I’m not necessary doing this for you, but rather for my own feelings. If I don’t do this, I won’t be able to soothe my anger. To me, you are the only thing or person left in this world that I can value.”
He then took me hand away and turned around. Right then, I realized something, “The only thing that I can value?” Whereas a person would normally directly say that I value something or someone, Tatsuya’s words was seemingly indirect. Tatsuya then turned back toward Miyuki with a sad expression.
Miyuki then realized that she touched upon a forbidden topic for her brother. He mutters, “No…., it’s time. It’s time for you to know. If possible, I wanted to continue on like this. But since you’re mother’s daughter and “that person’s” niece, it’s unavoidable.” “Big brother?” “Well, there’s no time now. Even then, I’m not the one who’s supposed to tell you. Go ask mother.” “Go… ask… mother…?” “Don’t worry. You’re the only thing left in the world that I can value. I’ll return unharmed and realistically, there is nothing in this world that can harm me.” He placed his hand on my hair and messed with it a bit. He then jogged back to Sanada.
Miyuki returned and her mother had awakened. Miyuki apologizes for leaving. Her mother says it’s fine. After all, Miyuki went and retrieved Tatsuya. The problem is…, he’s not here. Miyuki says that “big brother” went to the frontline. Her mother raised her eyebrows, “Big brother?” She sighed, “To make such a decision, he is utterly worthless.” Miyuki is deluded that her mother could treat a son this coldly. “Oh well, he was of some use this time. Let’s go.” Miyuki felt “some use” is a bit of an understatement. Tatsuya did just save both her and mother’s life a few moments ago. Nevertheless, she couldn’t express her bitterness.
When they arrived at their final location, Minori did a quick check and concluded that there isn’t any wire taps or video recordings. There’s also a glass in the room that shows everything happening in real-time. Minori starts working on the system. During this time, Miyuki asks her mother, “Rather than saying that he values me directly, why did he say that I’m the only person left that he can value?” “So Tatsuya said that. Well, it’s time for you to know. Before that though, never call him big brother again. For outsiders, you have to address him as such, but within the Yotsuba family, don’t treat that defect as your brother. This will only lower your standing.” “How could you!? He’s your own son and you’re calling him a defect?!” “It’s a pity, but there’s nothing to be done.” “It’s not like that. Didn’t big brother just save you?!” Mother coldly replies, “Just now? If that kid can’t even do that, then he’s…. Oh well, he’s only good for that.”
Just as her mother was deciding where to start, Miyuki sees the situation unfolding on the screen.
“Tatsuya, from a magician’s point of view, is a defect. While I did give birth to that child, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s a defect. He has two natural abilities- disintegration and regeneration. No matter how small, he can’t “create” anything new. He can’t change one object to another. Magic in itself is all about changing one thing to another through the information layer. He can only disintegrate and regenerate information. In that sense, his two natural abilities are not even really “magic”. Since he can’t change information, he is undoubtedly a defect. Even if we were saved by him, that ability cannot really be called “magic” in the truest sense of the word.”
I couldn’t reply. This is ludicrous. If that wasn’t magic, then what are our abilities? If we exclude magic, then isn’t the only proper term to describe Tatsuya’s ability “miracle”?
“We Yotsuba are part of the ten Numbered families. If you aren’t a magician, you can’t be treated as a Yotsuba. As such, the head and I operated on the kid seven years ago. While we were operating on him, he lost his emotions. He is no longer able to feel anger, sadness, jealously, hatred, hunger, lust, and love. As a result of our operation, Tatsuya only has one emotion left and he also received the ability to use magic. Unfortunately, the artificial calculation granted by the processor is inferior to his natural calculation ability. In the end, he could only be a guardian.”
Miyuki sadly asked, “Were you the one who operated on him?”
Her mother crushed any hope of a denial, “Who else?”
Miyuku understands to make this operation work, you need to access the mind and spirit level. Who else can do that other than their mother who specializes in spirit manipulation?
“As for the answer you seek….”
….
….
Ah…, is that so. I finally understand. I sense it. In that operation room, Tatsuya wasn’t the only person who lost his emotions. Whether it was due to guilt or a side effect of the magic, someone else also lost their emotion.
“Magic” is scary. It’s the first time that I’ve felt so. It can change someone so much.
On the screen, Tatsuya is pointing his pistol CAD at his enemy and disintegrating them one by one.
“The only emotion Tatsuya didn’t lose is your answer. Sisterly love. He loves his sister, which is you. His feeling to protect you. This is his only really remaining emotion. “
I was greatly saddened by the revelation.
“Tatsuya is very clear himself. ‘The only object I can value’ means exactly what it means. To me, he recognizes me as his “mother”. That’s it, there’s no motherly love. The only object or person he can value is you. That situation just now, he only saved me because you would be saddened if I died.”
“Did you choose to keep sisterly love… for certain reasons?”
“I didn’t consciously choose it for any specific reason. I just felt that if one feeling was to remain, it would be his love towards you. Compared to me, he’ll stay with you longer.”
“Did you tell broth… no, that person?” “Of course. Don’t be deceived. His thoughts are anything but conventional .There’s no question that he doesn’t love me as a mother.” Within her voice, Miyuki could detect a drop of frustration with her son’s lack of love toward her.
Summarizer Note: …., NO SHIT. You treat him like trash, tortured him to no end, and pitted him in fights to the death against other magicians.
On the screen, Miyuki saw Tatsuya steadily advance toward his enemies. Bullets, gunpowder, nothing could touch him. Then a tank aimed its cannon at big brother, but… both the tank and the person inside disappeared into thin air. Brother continued his steady advance. His fellow soldiers weren’t nearly as steady. To keep up with big brother, they had to hide behind barriers, move around, and attack with magic.
Suddenly, one person was shot.
Continuing his steady advance, Tatsuya raised his left pistol CAD and aimed it at the soldier. Before I even realized it, the soldier was right back up and continued his assault.
The scene unfolding before me on the screen was a like a movie.
The enemies poured all their firepower towards brother, but… none of it touched big brother.
Where ever brother aimed his right pistol, the enemy disappeared.
When his comrades fell, brother would aim with his left pistol and the fallen soldier would stand right back up.
Even for a magician like me, this was like some scene out of a fairy tale.
Although I felt this way, the soldiers on the field felt different.
The soldiers fighting alongside big brother felt that this was some sort of fantasy. Even when they were injured, the fatal injury would instantly be healed.
On the other hand, her big brother represented an unforeseen nightmare. Even if they injured a soldier, the enemy would get right back up. In comparison, their soldiers were getting disintegrated into thin air without a corpse or helmet remaining.
It’s as if my brother became the demon god. All for me.
How can I ever repay my brother? What can I offer him? Even my life is granted by my brother.
Note: Even though I released this once before, I've refined it this time and included more detail on Angie Sirius- the USNA war-level magician.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 9:
Web 4 Chapter 9. This whole chapter is in the present timeline.
After waiting for the door to open, a 70 year old servant came out and greeted them. Unlike the servant earlier, this person has considerably greater prestige.
This meeting is apparently about the aftermath of the Yokohoma Wars. The outside world thought that the event last week was potentially a nuclear bomb or a weapon that “polluted the environment”. Originally, the other countries wanted to punish. If other countries feel that they need to weaken Japan, they can use that as an excuse to collectively send their top magicians in the country. Luckily, the International Magic Committee cleared any misunderstandings. In the end, there was nothing “polluted”, so it was determined that one such weapon wasn’t dropped.
Mayo then switches topic, “Now, did you know that the ‘Heavenly General’ Liu Yun De was also caught in that explosion?” Whereas Kazame previously feigned shock about the potential punishment, this time Kazame is truly stunned. Mayo continued, “Yes, he’s one of the thirteen registered war-level magicians- that Liu Yun De. The Chinese are currently keeping a tight control on the information.” After announcing the news, the head laughed out that a public war-level magician has no secrets. Just as they’ve been aware of Liu Yun De’s every movement, the opposition is also aware of Mio’s every movement. She explains that the only publicly registered war-level magician who has been successful in hiding her movement from the public is Angie Sirius from the USNA. She continues that other than an ID number and name, they don’t even know how she looks like. After describing Angie, she states, “Well, it seems like the Thirteen Apostles are now the Twelve Apostles.”
She continues, “Japan is currently trying to leverage the recent events to force the Chinese back. The higher ups have officially filed a request for mobilization from the Itsuwo family (Five). That request has been granted and Mio will be part of the fleet.”
Miyuki asks, “That person will be on the ship?” The head confirms, “Correct.”
Itsuwo Mio, the only publicly registered war-level magician from Japan and one of the thirteen “Apostles”. She is the only other person aside from Tatsuya who is a war-level magician in Japan. Moreover, she is considered the ace of Japan. Her magic- Deep Abyss- is particularly strong over water. It’s a power that can destroy entire fleets in one strike and is as such recognized as a war-level magic. It’s also a magic that can be used on underground water, which would cause the buildings above to collapse.
“But isn’t her body weak…?” Contrary to her magic powers, Mio’s physical body is frail. Even before her time as a powerhouse, she had always been on a wheelchair in order to conserve her energy. After she graduated from college, she has never been outside of the main house. It’s due to the influence of Mio that the Itsuwo family has a strong position within the ten Numbered family.
Along with Mio, the Russian Apostle- “The Igniter” is also showing movement. Like before, Kazame is visibly disturbed by the news. He never thought that the recent events would mobilize four different war level Magicians including Tatsuya.
Mayo continues, “Finally, the shackles with the event three years ago is finally coming to an end.”
“Unfortunately, the recent events have caught the attention of other countries. Because the recent events are eerily similar to the annihilation of the Chinese Fleet three years ago, other countries will covertly send in magicians to inspect the situation. If Tatsuya is caught in the spotlight, it wouldn’t be beneficial to the Yotsuba clan.”
Kazame nods his head, “I understand.”
“If that’s so, then this is easier. Please refrain from meeting with Tatsuya for a period of time.”
After Miyuki and Kazame left, only two remain- Tatsuya and Mayo.
After sipping some tea, she started, “We haven’t talked like this in three years.”
“Aunt, this is the first time you’ve talked to me like this”
“Is that so?”
“Now that you mention it, it’s the first time that we’ve talked one on one.”
“Yes”
While the Head wanted to drink a bit more tea before diving in the main topic, Tatsuya wanted her to cut the chatter. She mentions that he was extremely “lively” this time around. Tatsuya refutes the claim. Then she mentioned, “Well, you were following orders.” Tatsuya then respectfully thanks her for understanding.
Mayo then started, “Compared to the past, the problem is the future.” Tatsuya questions, “… Is there something wrong?” As Tatsuya continued to stare at her, Mayo took another sip. With her eyes closed, she warns him, “STARS has already mobilized.” Upon hearing STARS, even Tatsuya froze for a second. Mayo explains, “This means the USNA has already started moving.” When she finished, her eyes matched Tatsuya’s. “Up to this point, STARS was investigating by themselves. However, they already know that the recent events were caused by a rapid conversion of matter to energy. They’ve already narrowed down the suspects down to a few. Amongst the most likely suspects are Miyuki and you.” Tatsuya shakes his head and then praises, “What amazing intelligence.” Mayo states, “Well, STARS is considered the strongest magician corps in the world.” “No, I’m talking about aunt’s subordinate.” After a moment of silence, Tatsuya continues, “Yes, I agree that they have the world’s strongest magician corps, but to be able to have such a grasp on their situation, you sent a spy over didn’t you? “Unfortunately, I’m unable to answer that.” “Of course.”
“In short, be aware of your surroundings. STARS aren’t nearly as naïve as the opponents you’ve faced thus far. If they feel that you’re a threat to the USNA’s hegemony, they’ll forcefully eliminate you.”
Tatsuya also understands the other meaning within this conversation, “So if there’s any possibility that they’ll touch upon the Yotsuba, you want me to hire a third party assassin to take them out? Alright, I understand.” “Well, if you can read this deeply, everything is easier.” “Didn’t you dismiss Miyuki precisely because you didn’t want Miyuki to hear this topic?”
Suddenly, she switched topics, “Tatsuya, don’t attend school anymore.”
“Why?”
“Take a rest. I’ll send another guardian over.”
“I believe a principal has the right to choose who his or her guardian is.”
“There is an exception to everything.”
“Yes, that is so, but I decline.”
The tension in the room was rapidly rising.
“If I suddenly leave, isn’t that the same as saying that I’m responsible for the recent events?”
“Well, we can make an excuse.”
“Is that so?”
She then raised her head and saw Tatsuya. Her expression instantly changed.
“TATSUYA, are you disobeying me?!”
“The only person who can order me is Miyuki.”
The tension was boiling over and it seemed that even time was frozen in this atmosphere.
Suddenly, the whole world turned into “Night”.
Within this darkness, there was one star shining brightly. Even the floor which was supposed to be reflecting the moonlight is completely filled with darkness. The star then became the path for all light.
--- Then there was the smell of blood.
In the next moment, it was complete silence again.
Then suddenly, the “Night” was demolished.
*Note: Mayo’s “Night” is unclear. But from my interpretation, it seemed like the one “star” in the night is the enemy or opposition of whoever is activating this spell (in this case Tatsuya).
The aunt and nephew are sitting in their original position. Any tension that remained left with the destruction of the “Night”.
“So you went easy on me.”
“Isn’t that obvious, you’re my cute little nephew.”
Neither the aunt nor the nephew was injured and there wasn’t any hint of blood spilt.
“Ma, you were even able to destroy that magic. As a reward, I’ll permit your stubbornness.”
“Thank you very much.”
“Don’t thank me; it’s a reward for destroying my magic.”
Tatsuya left without saying another word.
As the head entered deep thought, her elder servant came in and wanted to say something. The head granted permission. He wondered if it was fine to let Tatsuya go like that.
The Head knew what was on her servant’s mind, “Yes, Tatsuya will inevitably betray the Yotsuba clan.”
“That… that is correct…”
“What’s more, it was like it was verified a moment ago. His magic can specifically counter my magic. If we fought for real, there is a very high possibility that I would lose. It’s even more likely that I would be killed by that kid. Even if Tatsuya will betray the Yotsuba clan, he won’t betray Miyuki and Miyuki won’t betray the Yotsuba clan.”
“But…, this…”
“Ah, well, even if this is unfair to the other candidates, Miyuki is already decided as the next head. This is so that we don’t have to face off against that monster-Tatsuya.”
“In order for this to work, Miyuki must be next head.”
“Don’t worry, I already have a plan.”
One more chapter, but it's really, really long. I have the summary write up and chapter 10 with the epilogue takes up 8/28 pages on my doc. This meant that 9 chapters took 20 pages to summarize while the last chapter by itself took 8 pages.
Edit: Um, yeah. Chapter 10 is too long and I'm too freakin tired to effectively edit the last summary. Sorry about that. I'll get it out tomorrow.

Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 10 & Epilogue:
Web 4 Chapter 10- Disaster & Epilogue
In the year 2095, the Yokohoma invasion was supposed to be in retaliation of the defeat three years ago; however, history ended up repeating itself.
---
The forces led by Kazame and Tatsuya have already forced the invading army onto the shores.
Normally, this result would be collectively credited to the military and Tatsuya; however, this situation is unique because this assault was led by one small group of infantry. In that group, one magician clad in armor with a visor covering his face stood out. This magician was utterly crushing the opposition. This was a fact obvious to both the enemy and allies.
This scene could be described as a massacre, but simultaneously, “massacre” is an inappropriate term because there was no blood, no flesh. There wasn’t even the smell of burning flesh or the sound of exploding bodies. It was an unusually serene scene.
All the bullets and grenades thrown over disappeared into the air before it reached the defending army. What’s more, all the enemies are now just randomly firing and one by one, they stop, twist, and then disappear.
All the soldiers following Tatsuya couldn’t believe the scene unfolding before their eyes. Some were so mesmerized by this scene that they were just standing around and forgot to fire their bullets. Likewise, the enemy couldn’t believe what was happening. It was probably because there wasn’t blood or violent deaths that the opposing army didn’t surrender.
This was also what Tatsuya wished for.
If the opposing army had a high level magician, there might have been some meaningful resistance. If anything, the opposing army got careless after completing their initial strike.
Even if they are careless, this isn’t a reason for Tatsuya to let up.
He is currently in a berserker state of mind.
With the exception of destruction and massacre, he’s forgotten about everything else.
Right now, killing is very natural.
Advance, destroy, and massacre.
…
No, it’s dispersion.
Despite how he looks, he’s not completely emotionless. After he saw his sister dying, he was greatly shaken. His magic can recover any type injury. However, if his target is dead, his regeneration would only recover the wound, but not save the actual person. If the person is dead, that’s the end of it.
The horror he faced was the race against time. To him, the possibility of losing Miyuki was only further amplified by the fact that he doesn’t understand other feelings. To him, Miyuki is the one person or object he could value. Regardless of how calm he looks right now, he is currently riding on his emotions.
It’s precisely because he doesn’t have the ability to feel that he can calmly, efficiently, and decisively carry out his revenge. This could be described as a rational berserker state of mind. He has one goal and he is exerting all his wild energy into it. His enemies aren’t surrendering and this is allowing him to swallow up all their lives within his energy.
The commander of the opposing army recognizes the gravity of the situation. The whole infantry line has already collapsed. The only choice left is to order a retreat to the sea. They must escape from the demon god.
The enemies are now sprinting back to their boats. Tatsuya’s soldiers are lining up for a simultaneous fire; however, before they could even fire, Tatsuya activated an area version of his power. The enemies who were within Tatsuya’s magic were all swallowed up and disappeared into thin air. There was nothing, not even a helmet. Worse, a part of a boat was caught in the magic and the part within the magic evaporated into a dense form of vapor. All the enemy soldiers looked back and stopped any further resistance. They threw down their weapons and raised the white flag. They surrendered.
Behind Tatsuya, there was an order to hold. Upon hearing this he aimed at the white flag.
“You idiot, stop this. They’ve already surrendered.” Tatsuya had no intention of stopping. If they surrendered, all he had to do was to eliminate the enemies before the surrender is officially recognized. Lucky for him, there was still an enemy combatant with a gun.
“I told you to stop.” Suddenly Tatsuya was thrown onto the floor. Before he could get up, he was pinned onto the floor with a gun pressed into his face. “If you continue, this would be a massacre and that is not permitted.”
“Calm down Special Captain. Yanagi, put the gun away.”
*Note: Yanagi is the person mentioned in Web 2 Volume 4 by the undercover military officers after Tatsuya’s fight against the Crimson Prince as the only person in the army who can rival Tatsuya in magic casting speed.
“Captain, do you remember the condition I told you before coming out here?”
When he heard this, Tatsuya calmed down. “Roger.”
Seeing Tatsuya loosen his grip on his CAD, Yanagi backed off.
As the Japanese army was slowly relaxing and taking off their armor, one of the soldiers suddenly came running up to Kazame.
“Sir! There seems to be an enemy fleet approaching from the north. There are two high speed cruisers and four destroyers behind it. We need to rapidly leave this shore!”
“Give me command.”
“Sir!”
Tatsuya thought it was a shame that all these enemy soldiers aren’t escaping. From the soldier’s point of view, Tatsuya emitted killing intent and they wouldn’t dare to attempt an escape.
“This is Kazame… 20 minutes….? Then what about the captured…? Roger!”
Turning to his soldier, “This is Kazame. The enemy fleet will arrive in 20 minutes. We are to take all the captured with us and retreat into the mainland. “
Tatsuya wondered if his ear was tricking him. 20 minutes? No vehicles and you want to move all these captured? Impossible.
“Special Captain, return to your place.”
Kazame in effect told Tatsuya to run.
“Can I know the location of the enemy’s fleet?”
“Yes, we can do that. Sanada!”
Sanada asks, “We’re connected. Do you want me to transmit the information to your helmet?”
Tatsuya then interferes, “Before that, ”
Sanada and Kazame looked at Tatsuya, Tatsuya continued, “Did you bring the large sniper rifle CAD you showed me earlier.”
Sanada and Kazame looked at each other. Sanada says that it’s on a helicopter and can arrive in 5 minutes.
Tatsuya requests, “Bring it here.”
Tatsuya turned to Kazame and sent a message in his helmet. “I have a method to destroy the enemies.” Kazame couldn’t believe what he is reading. Tatsuya sent another message, “Problem is, I can’t let the others see. Can you ask Sanada to leave the equipment and leave?”
“Fine…, but I’m staying with Sanada.”
“… Understood.”
After Kazame ordered retreat, he gave command to Yanagi. Right then, the CAD arrived.
Inside the defense shelter, Minori can see the retreat. She sees 3 people remaining- Tatsuya, Sanada, and Kazame. She feels sorry for Tatsuya. He’s only 12 years old and he’s already on the frontlines.
Minori is looking at the screen and thought to herself, he must have a plan. A normal magician is unable to handle this situation. Nevertheless, the magic that he used is anything but normal. For a “magician”, it’s irrefutable that his magic is considered of a lower caliber. Even in the fight just now, he’s merely disintegrating everything. Of course, even as a low caliber magic, that power is undeniably strong. If he can extend his disintegration powers over several kilometers, meaning he’s on par with a war-level magician, then he can’t use the same magic to protect himself.
Note: It was a bit hard to translate this, but in short, if Tatsuya really has some long range magic, he’ll need to focus on the distant object and therefore be incapable of protecting himself.
“My lady, I have a request.” “What is it” “May I go retrieve Tatsuya?” “You mean, to go to his location?” “Yes.” “Minori, you’re my guardian right?” “….Yes” “Ma, it’s fine. If we leave don’t attend to the fleet, this place might be in a sea of flame. Tatsuya looks like he has a plan. Go help him.” “Huh?” Minori is a little surprised. “I don’t understand what he’s thinking, but he makes good decision.” Minori bows her head, “Thank you very much.”
Currently, the cruiser is rapidly approaching. This cruiser is armed with the “Freeman”- a laser cannon. The current cruisers have ten times the destructive power compared to the cruisers one hundred years ago (meaning the reader’s period). The power of these cruisers is enough to leave a city in flames. If there are two cruisers, even an elite level magician would have difficulty handling them.
Tatsuya is aware that this is a race against time. He’s rapidly putting together and installing the gears that can extend the range of this special sniper CAD. He then took out the bullets and disintegrated them and then regenerated them. By the time he entered the bullets into the sniper rifle, two minutes have passed. Both Kazame and Sanada don’t have a clue as to what’s going on.
Sanada informs Tatsuya, “There’s still 10 minutes until they’re within firing range. The enemy ship is roughly 30 km away…. Can you hit them?”
“Don’t know. We can only try.” After Tatsuya answered Sanada, he adjusted his sniper rifle at a 45 degrees angle. Disregarding wind, he wants to fire a shot to see how far he can shoot.
Tatsuya then starts to mess with the inputs on the CAD. Sanada is quite surprised that Tatsuya is bypassing the CAD automations and directly inputting all his desired customizations. This includes controlling the acceleration, movement, weight, and other categories. Despite everything, when Tatsuya fired, it could only reach 20 km. Tatsuya is a bit disappointed and says that they could only wait until the ships are within 20 km. Sanada’s expression changed, “But we’ll be in firing range!” The Freeman canon has a range of 15 to 20 km. “I’m well aware of the situation. If you guys want to return, that’s fine. I only need myself.” “Don’t joke with me, you’re returning with us!” “But if we don’t destroy the fleet, the base will be in danger (Miyuki is there).” “Can’t we do anything?” “No. If I fail, you two will also be involved.” Kazame calmly states, “There is no such thing as a fight with 100% success and there is no such thing as a hopeless battle. Soldiers win and lose. Likewise, soldiers live and die. It’s part of our lives.”
The waves are currently rising. The enemy fleet is testing out their cannons. No one said a word. The enemy’s exact location is specified in the helmet. The wind direction, wind speed, and other factors that would influence the shot are all being listed. Tatsuya picked up his sniper rifle and readied it.
When you take in consideration of the bullet’s flight time, the enemy would already be within firing range. Tatsuya started to activate his CAD and pulled the trigger four times. Every fire moved the aim of the rifle and the wind further weakened the accuracy. Nevertheless, aim was never the main point. He followed the trajectory of all four bullets with the information transmitted into his helmet. One of the bullets he shot was heading for the center cruiser.
While Tatsuya is focused on following the bullets, Sanada and Kazame kept a distance in fear of disturbing him. The problem is that the cruiser had already finished their test and just fired for real! The laser was traveling much faster than Tatsuya’s bullet and was going to reach them first.
“HERE I COME!”
In the light of the incoming laser, someone rode in with a motorcycle and threw it aside. Clad in a women’s armor, she stepped in front of Tatsuya and activated her Psion magic. A great light was emitted to defend Tatsuya.
When Tatsuya heard this voice, he was both surprised and relaxed. He is surprised that she left mother’s side and relaxed that he can focus on his own magic. The “Sakurai” series specializes in defending against thermal attacks. While they’re not at the level of the “Phalanx” of the Jumonji family, their defense against heat is of the highest level.
As the laser weakened, Tatsuya used the Third Eye to feel the bullet crossing the middle cruiser.
Tatsuya then extended his right fist in front of him, moved his arm to the right, and violently opened his fist.
The bullet was rapidly disintegrating and converting into energy.
This is the first time the disintegration magic, “Material Burst”, had ever been used.
In the horizon, there was a flash of light. The white light scattered the clouds in the sky. Even though there was still some time before sunset, the west emitted a bright light. Then there was a thunderous roar. People who weren’t there mistook the noise for a thunder.
Following the roar, there was the sound of explosions.
Suddenly, everything was quiet again.
After a moment, a rumbling sound started.
“TSUNAMI, RETREAT!”
Kazame ran over and picked up the collapsed Minori. Sanada retrieved the motorcycle and stopped in front of Kazame. The four of them mounted the motorcycle and went off.
After they reached high ground and the tsunami subsided, Tatsuya is on his knees. In front of him is the magically drained Minori.
As Tatsuya took off his helmet, his sad expression was gradually revealed.
“… It’s ok. It’s my time.”
Tatsuya is utterly powerless in front of Minori. Her death is inevitable because all her reserves had been exhausted. He could heal injuries, but not recover a life span that was used up.
“It’s not your fault. It’s not unusual for an artificial body to use up all its energy at once.”
“No, it’s not like this.”
While it’s true that an artificially adjusted magician has a more unstable lifespan than a normal human, but Minori’s decline is directly due to the sudden, extreme expenditure of magic. Even if she is part of the “Sakurai” series, it’s too much for her to block the full blunt of a laser onslaught for him.
Seeing through Tatsuya’s thought, “Really, it’s not your fault. When I was born, I was given a duty and I finally accomplished that duty today. This wasn’t an order. It was my will.”
Tatsuya desperately tried to use “regeneration” and knew immediately that it wouldn’t work. Even if his powers can return an object to the way it used to be, he can’t regenerate a life span that has already been exhausted.
“C’mon stop it.” Minroi laughed.
She continued, “I have never been able to live by my own will. At the very least let me die the way I choose to. I’m not letting this opportunity slip by. I can finally die not as an artificial created tool, but rather as a human.”
Tatsuya never imagined that Minori held such darkness. Simultaneously, to his own surprise, he wasn’t shocked by this wish.
“So, just let me die…. Ok?”
Tatsuya just nodded his head.
Minori calmly closed her eyes. Her expression loosened.
And then finally, her breathing stopped.
Sanada was inciting a prayer. Kazame placed his hand on my shoulders.
Tatsuya then stood up. There weren’t any tears. Inside his heart, the feeling of “sadness” disappeared. After hearing her last words, there was no need to be sad.
Epilogue
-In the present timeline-
Today reminded me a lot of the events the past three years. The person he remembers the most is Minori. There is a certain feeling of regret. If there wasn’t her sacrifice, he wouldn’t have the opportunity to enter the 101st Squadron and train in combat magic. He comforts himself by saying that the last three years weren’t a complete waste. He has always prayed for Minori who acted as his shield three years ago.
Perhaps it’s because of this that he expressed shock at the person in front of him. Compared to Tatsuya, Miyuki is even more shocked. “What’s wrong?” “No, nothing.” The young lady wearing a maid’s dress looks exactly like Minori.
After they entered a private room, Mayo asked Miyuki if there is something wrong. Miyuki asks about the maid just now. The head explains that she’s a second generation “Sakurai”. She is technically the niece of the Minori who once guarded Miyuki’s mother.
“She is an extremely powerful magician. On potential alone, she can rival the Saegusa twins (President Mayumi’s younger sisters). When the time comes, I intend to train her as Miyuki’s guardian. When you become an adult, there are events where you need a female guardian.”
Miyuki accepted the head’s proposal.
However, Tatsuya immediately saw through Mayo’s intent. He strengthens his resolution for the inevitable clash. The fact Mayo dared to use the same face as “her” as a tool is an unforgivable sin.
---- Tatsuya has no way of knowing it yet, but there wouldn’t be any clash.
Hey whsie the last line in the spoiler does that mean that they will never fight in the novel, or does she die soon. Also thanks for all the summeries.

Don't know. It's just something the author threw in before he concluded the arc.
@whsie
thank-you very much for the summary
sorry if this question irritating you, but believe me i just asking a question
do you have plan to make web 5 summary?
really if i become tatsuya after miyuki become head family yotsuba and tatsuya get back his emotion i will erase all member yousuba that treating tatsuya as a tool.
I said this on the jcafe forums, but I don't plan on doing web arc 5 or 6 (at least not yet). Whether whsie will take this up or raptor does when he returns, that's up to them.
I plan on reading through web arcs 1, 2, and 4 myself before I touch 5 or 6, I believe. If I summarize arc 1, I will leave out summaries for Chapters 0/1/2/3/5/6 from the light novels. This is because 0/1/5 are translated, 2 is partially translated and the manga fills in a lot of gaps, and 3 is partially translated and there was a spoiler regarding the Hattori fight (I'm not entirely sure if it's on this forum, but I'll add that into the summary). Chapter 6 is mostly translated as well, I believe.
This will take a long time, though, since my free time will soon rapidly decrease.
