Any tips for grinding the Nebiros fight? I heard that was the best place to grind outside of free battles. I can see why now, since he keeps on summoning teams of lv50+ demons, but my teams don't last if I face them head on because of Possession's no recover status.

• Buy a Nue with Pierce already learned (or use an SD Card in a Free Battle to do it), fuse it with a Gui Xian to make a Pabilsag

• Buy a 4-star Myrmecolion (the one with Drain Hit learned already); buy another beast and fuse them into a Flaemis with Drain Hit

• Buy the demons needed to fuse an Aeros; fuse that with the Flaemis to make an Ara Mitama with Drain Hit

• Fuse the Ara Mitama with the Da Peng; use the Release Passive add-on in the fusion and replace the Da Peng's Life Lift with with Drain Hit

You now have a Da Peng that can heal itself for more HP with Multi-Strike than the crappy healing provided with Life Lift. It is now not only disgustingly overpowered, but is also self-sufficient. With one on each team, you can grind to your heart's desire on the Nebiros fight.

Not possible for many reasons: I didn't carry over the completed Auction House, no free battles on this run to get the title, and I didn't buy the fusion cap removal.

I only had 230 NG+ points after my first completion, so I used that to carry over skills, remove the exp limit, unlock the Tuesday optional boss, carry over four demons, and unlock the mitama fusions.

My MC is only at lv30 (rest even lower), so there's no way I'll get any worthwhile demons until after I finish grinding at Nebiros.

So I just finished my second playthrough and noticed that I still got the Unkillable title even though my MC died once during the Alice fight.

Anyone know why that happened? Maybe the achievement is actually more lenient than people think and only requires that all human leaders are alive at the end of a battle?

It probably doesn't count for bonus boss or somesuch. Jungo died on Yamato's battle on the 8th day and I revived before the end of battle and I didn't get it.

Wow, if I had known that beforehand, that would have saved me dozens of resets on Nebiros.

Anyway, I guess I'm done with the game. I got to see the best two endings (AO and Daichi Restorer), beat all the optional bosses, and got enough of the titles to where I can get every single NG+ bonus with some points left over. I really don't care enough to 100% the game, because I hate Yamato and Ronaldo anyway.

On a side note, someone uploaded a very low quality version of what really happens in a certain someone's death clip.

So basically, instead of just passing away after channeling Lugh and summoning the Dragon Stream, Io pukes out green stuff, then her chest explodes. I felt horrible just watching that.

I don't think I have the guts to kill anyone after that ;_;

After seeing Daichi's special ending, everything makes sense.

Yamato and Ronaldo are meant to be flawed as well as the rest of the characters.

Remember that Polaris was erasing the world because he saw humanity to be corrupt and not worthy of living anymore. I think that other than the MC, the main cast of Devil Survivor 2 are meant to be prime examples of humanity and the vices they hold.

Io is all too passive and is afraid to voice her opinion.
Daichi is a coward.
Yamato is an elitist who is unsympathetic to the less fortunate masses.
Ronaldo is a vengeful man who can't sympathize with the more fortunate elites.
Joe is an irresponsible man who is always late, even when people are counting on him.
Keita is a solitary guy who is distrustful of others in general.
Jungo is all too simple-minded.
Makoto is a dog that can only act in accordance to her master and is afraid to act on her own will.
Airi is a tsundere that can't be honest with herself.
Otome is neglectful towards her family because of her job.
Fumi is a cold-hearted researcher who does not take the safety of her subjects into consideration.
Hinako is too strong-willed to the point where she is not considerate of the opinions of others.

All of these humans have something inherently "wrong" about them that leads to conflict. Polaris, the ruler of the universe in this story, has simply become fed up with humanity in general and imposes a time limit of a little over a week for them to do something about it, or die trying. Much like the first Devil Survivor game, you are to overcome a trial imposed by a higher power and survive. The difference is that this time, humanity must be truly united and work together as one.

The different endings are choices that the main character, the Shining example of humanity, makes.
He can conform to the ideas of a specific group of people, whether it be Yamato's utilitarianism or Ronaldo's egalitarianism, and abandon those who are in opposition. That is why Yamato must die in Ronaldo's Way and vice versa: humanity must work together, and if there are people who refuse to cooperate, they must be eliminated in order to leave only the united in front of Polaris.
The MC can also decide to reform the system and simply overthrow the one in power, like in the Anguished One's route or one of Daichi's Routes. By killing Polaris, less cooperation is needed, so it does not matter who dies as a result of conflict.
The final way is to legitimately overcome Polaris' trial by overcoming their own shortcomings. In this route, all human characters must be recruited, which implies a Fate level of 3 for Daichi, Io, Hinako, and Jungo, and a Fate level of 4 for the rest of the main cast. Everyone must survive.

The reason why I believe the Daichi Restorer ending is the "true ending" is not only because you get the most NG+ points for it out of all the endings, but because it requires the MC to experience events with the other characters that help them overcome their flaws. The MC experiences events like Fumi's experimentation on Jungo, where when one of her tests go awry, Fumi finally develops concern for the safety of another human being, and the death of Joe's girlfriend, where Joe finally develops a sense of responsibility and swears that he will never be late again. More importantly, the MC helps Ronaldo overcome his hatred for Yamato and JP's, and he helps Yamato develop at least some consideration for civilians. It is only in this route where all characters can and must survive and grow as a character.

In fact, the entire reason why humans can even survive in the game is because the demons are protecting them. If you didn't notice, the center unit has significantly higher defense when there are allied demons on the side. The center unit's defense drastically decreases when you kill both of the side demons first.


For the majority of the game, you could argue that the humans are nothing more than just "another attacker" at most and Auto buff skill fodder at the least.

The only small exception is Hibiki, who can theoretically have a perfect stat spread and skill build sooner than you can fuse a maxed demon with all skills needed using the mitamas and elements. Even then, that won't happen until late in the game where all skills are already cracked.


As for the story, many things become more difficult to show without the humans being unable to attack. For example, had Keita been allowed to fight, it would have shown his proficiency as a boxer. The only way you can know this through the anime is from the untranslated profile eyecatch that states he is a boxer.

Well, I didn't post that pic, but one of my Pixy builds was like that. I eventually replaced her with one that was more like Nocturne's uber-Pixie (it's been a tradition of mine to make one super Moh Shuvuu and to remake, as close as possible Nocturne's super Pixie whenever an SMT game allows it). I replaced the original super Pixie I had since I already had Moh Shuvuu as my Multi-Striker. Heck, between DeSu 1 and 2 I had all sorts of crazy builds (I don't even know why I bothered making that one super-defensive Aniel I had in DeSu 1).

Haven't played it but my friend said that the 8th day is a big deal. The scenario shifts between which endings you pick and in some cases there's still a order and chaos choice at that 8th day. That's what I was told anyway. Seems like a must buy for die hards. Good buy for regular fans.

Worth it. I'll assume you're talking about DeSu 1 here.. it has better gameplay, more story, more demons and voice-acting. The only problem that you might found would just be that it's kinda hard to find nowadays

Overclocked changes some of the original's endings quite a bit with the new "8th day" content... though whether that's for the better or worse for the story is... well, another story.

I personally didn't care for it because I already played the original and the 8th day scenarios can just be found on youtube.
