In episode 5, I think the normal Ymir is shown in the gardens, while the other Ymir is shown later in the balcony with an evil grim in her face watching the girls escaping the castle. Just guessing.

Nah, it's easy (and boring) to argue that QB will always be a series about girls, that Sainyang has official artwork depicting her as more feminine, and that she invariably get referred to as "the younger sister"... but I'll just present a bit more of proof:

mmm ... i dunno ... i kinda like it (I'm not a Melona fans though, I only root for Mirim!!!). I think most QBR redesign is better than the original, people have different taste I guess ^^; ...

Yep, that was a horrible finale. Claudette basically owned everyone until Reina swooped in with the predictable save. The only good part of the battle was Siggy running in and doing her ass grinding revival pose right in the middle of it, that entire scene was hilarious

Season two had better fix this mess. We didn't even get a Liliana cameo at the end.

So my worst nightmare came true, Leina saving everyone's ass out of nowhere again.

It was a hell of a mess. I'll wait for the subbed version to try to understand what happened at the end, because it clearly makes no sense. A second season is more than necessary, and they better fix everything, including the ecchi, which was terrible in the whole season.

Speaking of terrible things, some scenes in this episode were clearly unfinished, with crude drawing and animation. The battles were ok, but I expected more. Risty didn't do a thing, Nanael didn't appear, nor Walveria. Liliana and Branwen deserve a better role next season. They were pretty much pointless this far.

oh yeah, let's hope for a new producer next season as well.

Overall, this season was a 7 out of 10. It was nice to introduce the characters and it even went a step further with a decent (although rushed) plot by the end of the season. Really enjoyed episodes 6 and 11, which became two of my favorite episodes of the series. I hope to see more like those, as next season they'll have more time to develop a plot around Welveria and the girls.

Spoiler for QBR 12 - Level Up!:

The final battle wasn't quite as intense as the first season's, but all the cast did have their roles to play. Introducing a new character to a story usually requires slowing down the action for a bit, and since Rebellion had to introduce a whole seasons' worth of characters, while still utilizing a few from the previous ones, I'd say it did a fine enough job with what it had available. I wish some of the characters, like Liliana or Izumi (or Lyra), got to stick around a little longer than they did, but that's what the next season's for.

We're past the slow burn stage now. The episode was pretty much Claudette stomping everyone, but the sight of Annelotte and "Maria" fighting alongside each other was pretty satisfying. Melona's days of toying with the cast are long over. The show left a lot open, stuff that I hope will be resolved in due time. But it was overall a pretty good show for what it had to work with. The fanservice was good, the action was serviceable, and the characters were all fun to watch.

All that's left is to get that Swamp Witch out of the way.

Your right, the series is with about girls. however that doesn't mean male characters aren't allowed. Second point just because a character is more feminine doesn't auto mean female Traps can be more feminine at the same time.


Another thing is you should know is that authers/dev's/etc (Esp over in Japan.) tend to make it seem that they are a different gender. I think its a market deploy *Countless times clicking on a different image of a 'cute girl' just to find out its actually a boy in female clothing*

Looking at that second, Sainyang has a physique of a boy. The hips are abit too small for a female (Or the stomach seems to wide in the sides). Second part is the chest, Ymir, Eirin, (These two despite being loli-dwarvs) and Nowa, had all atleast some of their chest expanding abit. Sainyang chest, not so much in fact it appears that of a male-teenager status (a not well-built male).


Also from offical books / and battle books of the series. The books don't show actual nudity or gental's(nipples and other spots), they would usually have a stran of broken clothing or hair covering them. And yet Sainyang has a page where his clothing is destroyed exposing his nipple with zero covering, that in itself should be it. Why expose this one person body parts where others even his older sister doesn't show anything? And I'm pretty sure that they won't let that fly even if its just 'one-page'.

We finally get Annelotte on her horse attacking Claudette and it is at the end of the series instead of the beginning. I have to see the subs in order to understand what is really going on in the episode though.

Overall a decent series, not the best I have seen, but not the worst either.

That.......
was a VERY bad last episode. It was... just terrible.
I remember the fear I had, watching the episode and going "Um, it's almost over...?" and to realize that fear made sense, when nothing was solved and some random crap goes on at the very end, with the robot suddenly being able to unlock (what?) some spaceship (what?).
Anyways, terrible, very terrible last episode.


Which is a shame, because if you ignore the fact that in the end, they ran out of time to properly end the anime, the episodes one by one were actually fairly interesting, mixing fanservice (embarrassingly weird at times) with decent storytelling.
However, they used all of the anime to introduce characters and the last episode to focus on the story, which resulted in one hell of a trainwreck at the end. They don't even touch on some of the characters at the end, whatever the point of some were. Now if they do a season 2 and actually go over everything properly and solve everything, be it the demon blood inside the protagonist and defeating the Queen, then they might be able to salvage this... thing...
But even then, the last episode was facepalm material.

The animation wasn't really that good. I don't really remember the first QB being so cheap, but I can't remember, so I can't really compare.
It is unfortunate that the completed(?) ED's quality wasn't also used in the episodes though, except the last one.

So I guess 6/10.

Totally agree with you. That thing at the end... why did they come with something so crucial at the very few minutes without any explanation? What the heck was that rainbow magic coming out of the girls like they were the "choosen ones"? Was that thing a spaceship? or A giant robot? Nothing was explained about that in the whole season! So it was just meaningless.

You talked about the animation quality of the first season: well, the animation back then was soooo much better than in rebellion. It's a shame to compare both. Even though the fighting sequences in the first season weren't all that good, the animation and drawing were exceedingly good in my opinion.

Can't really discuss much more, the only solid thing "Sainyang=boy" supporters have is the nipple showing. But if we're bringing sizes into it, official ones, yay!

Sainyang: B：75, W：58, H：81
Nowa: B：78, W：55, H：81
Ymir: B：61, W：52, H：66
Eilin: B：60, W：52, H：67

So Sainyang is bustier than Ymir and Eilin and a little less than Nowa, and has wider hips than the dwarves, too, who knew?
