I really want to go to the screening in Manhattan tomorrow, but since I'm a closet otaku I am feeling conflicted about showing up at the theater for a magical girl anime. If this was a mecha or sports anime I can definitely buy a ticket and walk in there but for madoka magica.....hrmm
Anyone in the same boat? or am I just a complete wuss? |

There's just something about a 30 year old dude watching a magical girl anime that doesn't sit right with my ego. But you guys are right, Madoka Magica is a damn good story and nobody should be embarrassed about enjoying it.
now...where do I find one of those kyubei masks |

Good way to overcome it is to just get out there and get it done. You'll come to realize that people really don't care that much about what people they don't know are doing, plus you'll have no connections to them anyways, so it doesn't matter.
Either way, everyone going to this will be going with a want to watch the exact same content, so unless they're planning to shame everyone, you have no worries. Just put on your coolest anime shirt and chill in your seat like a badass. People will actually view you in a better light if you're not overly uncomfortable with your own self. G'luck!
