I think I could stand one more series from these characters, assuming the quality of the series doesn't drop. Maybe a plotline along the lines of Stellvia (space school drama), or perhaps a more medieval centered story (Haruka would make a great Black Knight )

Or maybe they'll use Stark's idea and do a Mai HiME / GSD hybrid, and I'll have a siezure and die.

Oh no, Nao would make an even better Black Knight (What I wouldn't give to see her re-enact the "tis but a scratch" scene in The Holy Grail. )

Haruka-Chan on the other hand would make an excellent Knight Who Says Ni, and Shizuru would be an excellent Bridgekeeper (Her asking in her sexy voice "What is your favourite color" alone would make a knight fall into the pit of lava, wrong answer or not. :P )

Actually it's located in the FAQ and I'm the one that provided the info for the FAQ.

Ha! Nice adaptations. I especially like the LotR one. And I can so imagine Nagi saying that...

A possible idea for a third Mai- series could be using priestesses -miko.

Mai-Miko

After all, they employed HiME, and now are using Otome.

Princesses, maidens, ..... priestesses?

If the quality's good enough and they kept the same character designer I'd watch it for sure. I wouldn't mind it being like the 3rd in a trilogy as it would feel odd to change the whole feel of it if it was the last MAI related series. Sometimes things are best kept in the same mould if you know what I mean.

I'd like to see a direct sequel to Mai Hime (I.E The same universe and characters). I mean, there were lots of unanswered questions in HiME and I doubt Otome will answer any of them. IIRC Nagi even mentioned something about that "the real challenge would begin now", in the last episode.

Even though Mai Otome is not done airing,
I still have a feeling that there is going
to be more. Maybe not a 3rd season,
but an ova/oav, or a prequel/sequel,
or a mimi movie/special of some kind.
I hope there is going to be more, becasue
Mai Otome is starting to bore me.

Please refer to the FAQ.

Question: Why is there a Z in the title?

Answer: It isn't Z, it's 乙, which is a Jananese kanji character. If you spell out Otome, it's 乙女. They took out 女 so the title would be pronounced "Mai Oto-Hime", except that nobody pronounces it that way. (credit: lone_wolf)

It's not a "Z"

However, note there IS a tendency to use '乙' as a substitute for 'Z' in Japanese Internet lingo... So you really can't deny that the creators had no intention of making a small reference to the 'Z'.

Which could be why 舞-乙乙HiME (pronounced Mai Otsutsu-me) isn't far off...? (eh... never mind)
