While re-watching the first episode I noticed something that I missed the first time around. Moments before the super giant shows up there is a flash of light that looks like lightening. Giants are bad enough, but giants who can throw lightening bolts . . .
Did anyone else notice this? Any ideas on what it could be?

I have to say I just cringed when the guy gave the woman her son's arm. Like seriously who would actually give a family member a bloody body part and be like yeah thats your son. Have to say there is a lot lacking in the story department and it just seems rather incredible(in a bad way). That being said I will probably keep watching it for at least a few episodes and hope that their left field story telling eventually becomes a bit more reasonable.

I'm wondering if the lightning bolt hit one of the regular size Titans wandering outside the wall. There are a few scenes showing Titans right outside probing the walls. Perhaps this lighting bolt supersized one of them. I could be wrong, but it's a possibility until we know more about what happened.
I need to see this again. Endless "Speculative" Soul

I've been wondering why the translated title of Kyojin has been "titan" instead of "giant", since either would describe what we've seen so far. Furthermore, titan is usually used to describe those found in Greek mythology; hence, I'm also wondering if Greek mythology will have an influence in the story. Edit: I'm beginning to wonder if that one is a shepherd of sorts, used to get the "cattle" for feeding by breaking down walls when the livestock is fat enough, since this theme was repeated in the first episode that humans are like caged livestock.

Anyway, there might be some kind of conditions for it to appear. What confuses me is "Why now?". If the invincible wall can be break down with ease so why wait until now? |

I think Eren has some kind of psychic ability, dreaming about giants invading the city and shadowy image of his mom picking up by the giant from the ruin. That will be good if he does because people only have sticks and stones to defend themselves from the giants. No hints about super power in the opening sequence though.

But then there did seem to be some religious significance attached to the wall which possibly came along a long time since the cannons went up. |
