=== [2013/06/07/上南喰赤] A:KyuuAA(+8.0) Bryy(-20.0) C:cafenoir(-38.0) D:yagi0506(+50.0) http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2013060709g...a07&tw=0&ts=12 Last hand. When that 3-sou came out, I decided to open; and shoot for Tanyao Dora 3, which would be enough to take the win. However, after that riichi, the thought became dicey. Manzu looked way to dangerous to discard, so I had to discard 8-pin. Woe to me, as two more came out, which would have been Tanyao San Ankou Dora 3, for the game winner. But that would have required dropping 5-man; and low and behold, that would have resulted in a disasterous double ron. I am glad to have avoided that.

I was watching anime and wasn't paying attention to this 90% of the time, but apparently that's not required. Also, on an unrelated topic, I think it made be a good idea to closed kan terminals more quickly than usual since it increases those Fu points that nobody gives a shit about. But a closed terminal/honor kan is worth 32, meaning 60+ fu, and that means you can get a near mangan with just 3 han. Also, open kans are just silly if it opens your hand, still.

Lol
Well, you certainly outplayed them. Them: Delicous kan. Must fap!!!! Edit: Oh good, I'm in the lead and I can get this yakuman possibly. Would it come so easily? Of course not; this hand gets canned and some other poor fool deals in immediately afterwards. http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2013062511g...-416901fa&tw=1 In retrospect, when going for this hand, there was no reason to keep the 5 sou for so long, nor to throw out the 2 man so fast either. Keeping stray middle tiles for triplet hands is usually not a hot idea.

I already played JRM since August 2011, until they make a f-ed up season that requires us to "pay" to play. I went berserk and quitted JRM ever since.
So yea, I just come to Tenhou recently just for the fun of it. Anyway, here's my first "killing spree" in Tenhou. I had a really fun match. It started with a 11700 win as dealer, before losing to my kamicha for 5500 (was relying on the suji). After that I got 5 consecutive wins, 4 of which are damatens (2 of which are dealer mangans) and another one is an open shaa with 4 doras hand. Highlight of this match is on South 1 (the one I won with a dealer mangan tsumo): Here my opposite has declared riichi, and I don't have any safe tiles at all. I was kinda stuck between giving up the 6-man/6-pin as a suji defense, or challenge the riichi and try to complete my hand by discarding the risky 7-sou. In the end, I decided to challenge the riichi, and it somehow passed. Before I knew it, my shimocha ALSO declared riichi by discarding 4-sou. Soon after that, the dora 8-man came and I discarded 6-man without the riichi stick as a precaution. The next thing that happened, I drew my winning tile for dealer mangan. I could've gotten an ippatsu dealer haneman/baiman (if I get lucky with ura dora), but meh, I didn't really expect that to happen. Final score: A:Arkanos(+81.0) B:Lecter(-50.0) C:bareman(-5.0) D:FreeMan7(-26.0) Yea, I was really merciless in this match. Last edited by TheArkanos; 2013-07-23 at 03:57. |

Hmm... got a question and this is actually the most promising place to ask.. But I'm sure as heck not reading the whole thread to find an answer to my question, so here goes
The rules we've been playing with up till now are 14 tiles in the dead wall, the tile third from the left on the top is turned as a dora indicator. When someone calls kan, the tile right of the dora indicator(s) is turned over for an additional dora indicator), the player gets the leftmost tile from the dead wall and the leftmost tile from the regular wall is added to the right of the dead wall so there are always 14 tiles in the wall, roit? Now... what happens if there are more than 4 kans? As it happens we had this in our last game. So the dead-wall looked like this: DDDDHHH HHHHHHH (D: Dora Indicator; H: Hidden Tile) Now, what if someone called another kan? Which tile would the player get? Which tile would be turned for a dora? And what if there would be a 6. kan? This bugged me for some time now so ideas would be very much apprechiated. Couldn't find anything on that. |

Well, this particular hand round is a real bummer.
Firstly, I got a really good 9-gates set up. But Tenhou decided to be a real prick and my hand got stuck for the rest of the game. Well, oh shi. My thoughts are: Oh god he went into a pinzu honitsuu tenpai faster than me, even though I had a really good starting hand! After drawing the west dora, I had 2 options: Make a 3CP honitsuu with 7/9-pin or west, or iipeikou honitsuu with 8-pin, since 5-pin is a safe card to discard. And next thing I knew, BAM Daisangen! I ended up third in the end because the starter dealer hit the Daisangen get with a Baiman in the previous hand. |

So let's see, everyone keeps winning small hands, and I can't win anything. Nothing new, but good defensive play has me down only a few k. So last hand is here, and I try to capture the renchan since it's over anyways and I have to win to do anything, and then this... wow... given the low rarity of this, I bet he'll die in a grease fire. Ok, now that's truly special. Not only do I deal into a yakuman, but it's the rarest yakuman to exist. I guess it's not Pure Nine Gates, and that's because the Japanese are lame, as they are the only one to accept Bootleg Nine Gates. Still this incarnation is about 150 times the rarity of Kokushi Musou Well that's gg. If that's not a sign I should quit, I don't know what is; deleted all Tenhou related stuff off my comp. Also, any smartass that says I should play for 3rd, well... fuck you too!

Well I think I just had what probably be my highest scoring mostly flawless game on tenhou I'll ever get outside of yakuman hands....
http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2014060219g...-f6172ee2&tw=0 Too bad I didn't get to find out if tenhou gives the yakuman points to 8th+ renchans for the dealer, I was so close to finding out! . Though my rather aggressive playstyle that I love to use when I am in the dealer position paid off beyond my wild imagination that game.
