Don't know whether the first one really had additional scenes. What was the case (and that counts for the second as well) is that some episodes had the ED cut out, with the ED song laid over the end of the episode itself, due to time reasons. For example in the TV version of the first episode of the second season the opener is moved to the end (with the ending lacking). This has been redone in the BD version, so that version is slightly longer than the TV version. But the scenes are still pretty much the same.
