Honestly, Takao looks really better than I expected from a full 3D anime. It looks like there's no official info now but I also hope that this will be a 2-cour.

Now waiting for how the ship plastic model looks. I'll be sure to get one of them, especially if they have those glowing lines on the ships.

I still don't understand something, Ifse they have already ton of merchandise, and stuff shouldn't it mean they have high hope for anime?

And if they does, why they cast (with exception of Yukana) newbies without reputation ? Especialy as Drama CD was all star team.

By this point I don't even rage about it anymore, but it just doesn't stop bugging me!

Any ideas?

At this point, you should already know that, aside from making as much profit as possible, the exec’s way-of-thinking in movie/anime is one of the great mysteries of the world. Also, who knows, you still don’t know the true skill of those so-called “newbies without reputation”, but those execs do. They can be good enough for relatively lower-paid seiyuus.

Besides even the now-famous seiyuus started out as “newbies without reputation”. Give these new ones a chance, this could be the big break in their young career.

Having a famous seiyuu is also a good advertising though. Since they already have their own fanbases already. Good advertising + good product = good sales = profit.

Although I was also hoping for a famous seiyuu, I guess it just can't be helped. I'll just wait and see the finished product.

Of course | will give them chance. everything is decided already so I wish that Boy B and Girl C will do they best in role with actual names and make my favourite show as enjoyable as possible in my own interest.

Though drama cd cast will be extremly hard to catch with. They set the bar incredibly high.

PS: I think I will have to deal with fact that thought process of executives are indeed inexplicable and give up on trying understand their actions ... or I can just let it bug me until end of my live. I will decide later wich of it.

On the side note should this thread's prefix be renamed to Fall? It's pretty much confirmed the anime will be aired in Oct.

I think her "lady like" dress is uniform of Marine institute: when Gunzou met her for first time, so you don't have to worry, after they deal with drama CD events you will get your loli deadpan Iona

That was also my thought at first, but seeing her wearing the same thing even after battling with Katao made me fear that they only made one model for her (and I would end up with the same Iona throughout the season). Not that the dress looks bad in any way, but I still prefer her original design.

Well, to be fair, Drama CD is a media which focuses more on sound and voices, so of course they’ll get good-to-great seiyuus for the roles. If not, what’s left to be presented? Anime on the other hand is 50% visual & 50% sound (some even say that the visual is a stronger aspect of anime), so the need to bring top notch seiyuus may not be as strong as Drama CD.

Loved the opening theme, it reminds me of her previous song "No pain, no game" that was used in BTOOOM!, I cannot wait to watch it but I wouldn't be surprised if the anime sequence of the opening theme will be done in 2D style compared to the anime itself.

According to the new PV, the show will premiere on Tokyo MX and MBS, and it's more than likely it will air on other JAITS stations as well.

I can't help but wonder if they're revealing too much in that latest PV for the people who haven't read the manga. However, it's nice to see the rest of the crew, especially Shizuka, even if it was only briefly.

The biggest question in the PV though... despite the occasional blockiness of the character CGI, why does Takao manage to look so gorgeous?
