I must assume having read Kaoru Chujo's review that this week's episode covers vastly the plot material from the fourth volume of the manga, and Karin's conclusion about to bite Kenta in the anime happens the same manner as in the manga.
BTW, futaba channel has released this episodes' pics. http://dat.2chan.net/18/res/2293484.htm Once I have seen the episode, then I will post my comments and comparisons with the manga for it. |

I went into Karin thinking "goofy Munsters kind of thing" but its turning into some pretty decent romance and mixing the "funny" with the drama pretty well.

Has anyone got any decent wallpapers of this show? I've found a few over at animepaper but I've yet to reach whatever magical mystery goodness they want before I can download anything... sheesh.

13 - Good episode, I wouldn't call it fantastic, but still good (8/10). I agree, the Karin admitting her true feelings was so kawaii ^^ , I guess now the problem will be, how a vampire and a human could get along well as a couple? I wonder if the series will focus on this now, at least it is where the clues lead to. I am glad that the serious, almost claustrophobic tone of previous episode has been abandoned already. I didn't like that. While I'm starting to dislike Ren more, he's arrogant and I don't like his manners. His whole family scolded him, even the pacific Anju! At this rate, I'm gonna prefere Winner-kun *IF* as it was in this episode it has about one minute of screenplay, enough to enjoy the viewer but not enough to pollute our ears. I actually enjoyed his crazy clueless vampire hunting (and poor Maki, by the way ^^ ). Now next week's episode looks just great (as everything with Anju in it), looking forward to it!

Jesus. Of all the groups to screw up a fansub, afk was like last on my list. After the brief intro description in ep 13 and before the song, Karin shows up and says 'it's embaressing'. She's not in episode 13, her sister is but afk used the one with Karin in it.
I tried contacting them in mirc, but it's deader than a doornail over there. :/ |

The faster you pump out a fansub, the morely likely an occasional spelling error might be in the product. However, given the average number of spelling and grammar disasters we see in many forum posts --- I suppose we should be thankful the subtitles aren't in llama-"1337" from some groups.
a.f.k. usually does pretty well. edit: wait.. are you saying they recut the episode with the wrong intro?? I'm still downloading it (slowly in background) so I can do some work.

well... crud... I'd been collecting their subs specifically.... (I'm one of those odd people that like to have an entire series by one group). ... (kills his torrent)
If they don't put out a v.2, I may rethink that....

Hmm yeah I was surprised by the change in the pre-op intro with Anju appearing instead of Karin. At least the [We.Suck] guys (their ep 13 sub is out now by the way) got that one right.
EDIT: On a whim I checked an earlier episode (I think ep 12) subbed by We.Suck (when viewing I normally skip the intros by the way so I never noticed this in the first place), and it turns out ep 13 isn't the first to have a change in the pre-op. That other ep I viewed has Usui appearing instead of Karin. Last edited by Sailor Enlil; 2006-02-19 at 15:45. |

The person who captured the raw was at fault for this. The pre-op that was used was attached to the raw, and not tacked on by a.f.k. It was not known that there was even supposed to be a new/special pre-op. I am going to try to convince the person working on the project to just release another copy of just the pre-op. (No guarantees at all as he just does whatever he feels like.)

wow.... bizarre ... sounds like that kind of raw editing was more trouble than it was worth........ unless they were late in starting the capture and thought they could just tack on a previous pre-op capture....
I'd be pretty pissed if I were the rest of the a.f.k. team I think.

Hm...I downloaded the afk version of episode 13 as well because it was the first one to be subbed. I guess I missed that new intro too. Good call on that whoever found that out.
Anyways, I think the following episodes will be pretty good. I really like Usui's character. He's likeable, believable, and not over the top. It's not one of those romances where somebody likes another for no apparent reason or for some obscure reason. On another note, it'd be interesting to see Maaka and Kenta's furthering relationship. Kenta will literally be a piece of meat to Maaka, but Maaka will still be providing those box lunches so Kenta can grow more meat on his bones. Haha, that's funny. |
