Ch.02 proceeds forwards to the intro scene of ch.01 where the MC is wounded to the point of incapacitation. It's rather funny, really: you are actually led to believe Keiji Kiriya is practically choking on his own blood because of the wounds inflicted on him by the aliens...but now you get to know it's because Rita used him (more specifically, his helmet) as foothold for her CQB acrobatics. Well, her move did save his life, but she could've been gentler with a guy that can barely walk. XD

This chapter also provides additional clues as to how big the suits are, compared to their wearers. And, oh, the back-mounted pile driver is seen in action.

Scanslation said "similar to Rita's" but the raw says "Rita to Onaji." I was hoping he'll get a buster sword or a lance or something but he'll probably get the same battle axe?

47 game overs and retries? just to run and kill 1 poring? NOOB!
thousands of other soldier managed to survive (some become ace) just with 1 life you noob!
keep dying noob, until 99999 times, you wont even reach 1 cycle of war, you can just keep killing poring and slime.

Well that's quite fresher than your typical ace or soldier boy who survived many battles and craps throwing at them. This main guy is just your typical joe and die just like everyone else going to war. The special thing about him is he's able to respawn while still having his memories, so why the f*ck not make use of it to become stronger then

what if after 23492375293742934 retries, he wins the war against alien, and then later he died in peace age because of normal old age disease? he still restarting? poor noob guy

Very interesting his skill in fighting has quickly increased but then again with him knowing that every time he dies he learns something new before it although the pain of each death is still incredibly painful.
Now he wants a similar weapon to that of Rita Vrataski. It should be interesting to see how far his development goes with not just the enemy but with Rita in the future.

I start to wonder if Rita has the same power since it seems her unit is the only one who manages to defeat the enemy(or so it was said in the earlied chs).If yes, is it the same as a coop game where both restart and both keep memory of just the one who dies?

In the trailer for the Hollywood movie (edge of tomorrow) Rita tells him that they are the same. Apparently, they stole the skills of the Mimics or so

just watched the trailer of the movie, hell did they even pay the author rights??

it seems the same to what happened in the manga until now(except the rita part that i am only speculating on at the moment).

yeah, especially that INVASION part. Why and what are they invading ? was not mentioned in the trailer , it did not seem like they were the ones being attacked but more like they were the ones who picked a fight without even an explanation.And why the hell is a civilian in the army??

I wonder how he's gonna explain to his squadmates and commander how he got this new, non-regulatory weapon...and if he has to have it (re)built from the ground up (by sneaking into the US maintenance/armory division) every time he dies. *shakes head*

Oh man, it's like reloading a checkpoint or save file and having to redo hours worth of stuff every time you die. Remember how we complained about not being able to skip cutscenes in RPGs?
