Well that will affect Rino in a lot of ways.

The whole becoming stronger than her sister may have started about to protect Ren.

All the guys Ren met were thugs like in her meeting with Kyoka which motivated her to learn martial arts. Perhaps even protecting Rino.

Rino just forgot her original reason to be powerful. And it became about surpassing her sister. Even at the front of having a boyfriend. That is when she declared Rintarou hers.

Holy crap, Rintarou managed to get the affection of her sister! Her sister stealing Rintarou before she can even conquer what is hers to surpass Ren would make more complicated emotions.

It's 100% that its her, looks aside, you just need to compare the design of the glasses, theirs an duplicate up close shot of her glasses from the side, during her first appearance.
