Yeah.... if Snake isn't in (and odds are very low he will be...), I think I'll be maining Mac... a charge-able attack that instantly KO's opponents? Sounds like a dick move just waiting to be used...

Hmmm, if Mac's KO meter works like in the original Punch Out, then you're going to have to play aggressively with him and combo a lot, since the meter back in the original game would build up as you string hits and would go down if you get hit.

So...
Returning: Zero Suit Samus Sheik Yoshi Charizard New: Greninja 3DS version has an exclusive mode call "Smash Run" where up to 4 players have to spend 5 minutes roaming a dungeon collecting stat powerups and items and when 5 minutes is up, they get to fight eachother with all their new power. Custom move sets are now a reality, but they're only available in local and "For Fun" online matches. Last edited by Tokkan; 2014-04-08 at 22:00. |

What is Greninja from? Pokemon?
I'm disappointed with this Smash direct. 3DS version in summer, but Wii U version (the one I want) in winter of 2014 (so probably early December). 3DS version gets a mode that seems fun but won't be in Wii U version. I waited for new character reveals, and what we got was Charizard (don't care) and Greninja, who seems like a Pokemon, and either way, I don't care. What I was happy to see is Zero Suit Samus back, and as a stand alone character. Sheik being back and being a stand alone character is also really good. There was some nice tidbits in the video, but I'm more disappointed than pleased. I still look forward to the game and it should be a very fun game. However, I don't like some of the new characters. I was never excited about Wii Fit Trainer and Villager, and I can add Charizard and Greninja to that list. At least Rosalina and Luma as well as Mega Man are great newcomers, and Little Mac is a very cool newcomer.

Yes. He's the final evolution of the water starter; a water/dark ninja frog.

Sakurai did a good job with the environment settings. Such as using a high score system that doesn't use a point score and a punishment system for cheaters and other players with rude manners.
Also was able to separate the "Fox, Final Destination NO ITEMS!" group of so-be pros in their own room while forcing them to stare at more than one field. And love the new assist figures. Ashley And love the presentation in general. Sakurai definitely is brilliant. But I'm surprised the frog came in. As a ninja, I can see that it is easier to create a moveset for him though. Anyways, give me my Ganondorf

It's sad how this will probably be the only time we'll get to see them in HD

His and Charizard's addition to the roster actually make more sense than Lucario. Quote:

Switching characters mid battle in Smash was a game mechanic seldom used by players anyway. Most people who wanted to play Sheik would never switch back to Zelda, and people who wanted to play Zero Suit Samus never liked going through the trouble of getting a Final Smash orb to change back. If Pokémon Trainer didn't have that silly fatigue mechanic that forces you to switch every so often, many people would be sticking to one Pokémon as well. Characters designed with a switching mechanic also suffered in Brawl. With Zelda and Sheik, Zelda was designed to be the slow hard hitter, and Sheik the agile fighter with no real finishing power. The flaws both characters were intentionally designed with to balance each other out made both of them suffer compared to other characters like say... Meta Knight and Toon Link who were versatile enough to have both speed and firepower. The same issue applies to Red's three Pokémon, and Zero Suit Samus. I agree with Sakurai that it's better to make them standalone characters so that they can be designed as such. No one really switched mid battle on a regular basis to overcome the other form's shortcomings anyway (except for Pokémon Trainer where the game forced you to), and the mechanic was flawed to where switching mid battle wasn't exactly practical with how long the animations are. why can't you use your custom moveset characters online?
seems like a missed chance to me if they were really worried about fairness make yet another separate bracket for custom moveset characters also, at this point, I'm pretty sure that Ike is gone and he replacement is either Chrom (95%) or Lucina (5%)
