They have a lot to prove here, even if it isn't based on one of their in house light novels.
I very much agree, especially because of the concept. The premise of this just comes off as so "meh" to me. Then if I combine that with the fact that some of their most recent projects (some of which I did like, but I won't ignore their flaws) seem to lack the polish of their earlier works... I just cannot feel all that hopeful for this.

I hope it surprises me, though. I really want it to.

Just thought I would mention that the first chapter of the manga is out, and in my opinion, it was pretty darn awesome. Fans of FMP will especially enjoy....won't give even a hint, just read the first chapter, seriously

To be honest, it is a little surprising that KyoAni is adapting this. I had thought they personally swore off making any more adaptations for Kadokawa and decided to work on only series under their own label (Tamako Market, Free!, Kyoukai no Kanata, etc.)

Oh well, I'm totally okay with this

Well, like Leo mentioned, the first chapter of the manga adaptation is out and it, ah, gives a taste of what might be expected of the story. I do suppose that KyoAni will be able to put their own spin on it, but it's certainly less generic compared to the brief summary we got!

I never once doubted Gatoh's abilities.

Their "moeblob" art style that has been prevalent since K-ON is good for those moeblob shows but I rather not see it again in LN adaptations. It would be a shame for them to simply paste that almost trademarked style of theirs on every show they make. I really hope Nakajima's art gets replicated instead, it would be a waste if it didn't, her art is great.

The premise is simple, but I hope it doesn't turn off people from checking it out. After reading the first chapter of the manga I get the feeling there is a lot more than you would think. Even about the main character.

Indeed, the DL series is the kind of stuff I'd gladly check out even with no "spicy" parts to it.

Also, I'm joining the "more than meets the eye" chorus. This has potential to be interesting stuff.

The twitter account was taken down, but the website it named was purchased. We don't know if the show is truly out by April, but it would be a surprise if it is.

Given her comments about
Spoiler:
I'm pretty sure that there's some kind of weirdness going on at this amusement park.

The first chapter of the manga was good, and I like the puella magi cameo, but the MC looks kind of hateable on the page 7, probably is for comedy. but I'm still looking forward to see this.

Well he does introduce himself as an ultimate narcissist with a bloated sense of self-worth, so it just begs to be seen if he can REALLY prove what he claims.

That's because the synopsis sucks like nearly every other synopsis. I don't know why people want to act like a bland summary that every anime gets is important or something. You do get your exceptions like Steins;gate but the synopsis for stuff like Madoka and Hunter X Hunter don't do them justice. Anyway here's a more spoilerish but descriptive synopsis for this novel

I've read the first manga chapter, it's more interesting than the publishers summary made it out to be, it will be well written (not to be confused with a good plot) and have good animation. Just based on that it's already more promising than recent works from this company.

Uh, I can't speak for others but I know that I personally don't place any sort of grand importance on anime summaries. (Perhaps I should not have bolded the 'given the synopsis' part of Reckoner's post.) I was not talking about the quality of the summary itself, I was talking about the actual concept of the series and just that. How the summary is written won't change that fact that a "slapstick drama" series revolving around people managing an amusement park doesn't sound very strong to me.

But, as I said, I genuinely hope it surprises me.

Except that isn't (entirely) the actual concept for the series.
And hell, if "managing an amusement park" doesn't sound a lot more interesting than "a bunch of high school kids join a club where they do nothing" even though there have been plenty of good shows with the latter premise...

I hope the lead girl gets in the action of the comedic pratfalls as the guy.

*shrugs* Regardless of whether it's the "concept" or not, I still stand by my point. Neither of the things you mentioned sound even the least bit interesting (to me)... all on their own, that is. It's execution that matters. The brief description(s) of what this series is supposed to be about doesn't sound ground-shattering to me, but if executed very well, my opinion could change.

The manga definitely serves as an appetizer, if only to show how it isn't generic. Note the surprise of many posts above yours.
